It has been twelve hours since I found 5Dimes' WWE SummerSlam 2016 betting markets had been released. Since that time, it appears the customers have backed into all of the favourites on the board.
Brock Lesnar is now -220 to defeat Randy Orton on the show in less than three weeks. He had been -180 when I checked in last night.
As a result of the change, 'The Viper' is now +165. This is an improvement from +140.
WWE Champion, Dean Ambrose, has moved from -400 to -490 in the market where he's up against Dolph Ziggler. A winning bet on the challenger will now pay at odds of +330 rather than +280.
Seth Rollins' price to become the inaugural WWE Universal Champion has moved from -160 to -195. Finn Balor's number has drifted out from +120 to +155.
Sasha Banks has been the punters' biggest mover so far. She shortened from -300 to -475 with former WWE Women's Champion - Charlotte - now out at +325. She had previously been +220.
SummerSlam is twenty days away, so there's more than enough time for the outsiders to be backed.
I'm particularly interested to see how far Randy Orton's odds will drift out. I have a feeling the customers are backing the wrong selection in Brock Lesnar. I've written in recent posts that I believe Orton will end up being the victor in that match.

I think Vince has way too much invested in Brock to have him lose at any event other than a WrestleMania to a talent on the rise. Orton doesnt need the win, hes already established. I'd like to see an Owens, Joe,Nakamura or someone of that ilk be given the nod to go over on Brock. Someone who hypothetically could have a long run on top as a result. I can see Orton going heel on the SD after Summerslam so the loss will benefit him in some way.
ReplyDeleteOther than all this drug failure business I personally can't see lesnar being on the front of the new wwe video game and then losing on the biggest PPV before its released. Although it's WWE and anything can happen
