Bodog / Bovada SummerSlam Odds For August 18th (PM)

It has been a little over a day since I first published a post with the alert that Bodog and Bovada had published betting odds for SummerSlam 2016. In this post, I'll go through each market again and see where the customers have been putting their money.

Sheamus .vs. Cesaro

The edge has gone to Sheamus at this point. He was -140 to begin with and is now down to -145. Cesaro has moved out from +100 to +105. I'm surprised that Sheamus' number hasn't shortened more than it has, to be honest.

John Cena .vs. AJ Styles

The early numbers I have for this market are John Cena +200 and AJ Styles -300. I noticed that, after my post was published yesterday evening, the bets came in on Styles and his price was cut to -400. Cena went out to +250.

As of the time of publishing, the markets remains with Styles getting the edge as he has remained on the -400.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Randy Orton

This opened with Brock Lesnar a -350 favourite and his opponent was out at +225. The odds hadn't moved when I checked in before I switched everything off last night. However, the market is showing a difference today.

'The Beast' is now a -400 favourite, so the fans are expecting Randy Orton to lose. A winning bet on the outsider will now pay at +250.

Enzo and Cass .vs. JeriKO

This opened with the babyfaces as -600 faves. The team of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho were +400. In a reaction to the heels' odds dropping at 5Dimes, the bets must have came in - or they were adjusted - as JeriKO were moved fown to +170 late last night. At that point, Enzo and Cass were showing as -250 favourites.

Today's betting is pointing to Enzo and Cass back in the lead as they have been moved to -300. JeriKO have jumped out to +200.

Apollo Crews .vs. The Miz

WWE Intercontinental Champion - The Miz - was +150 when this market opened. His opponent was -200. The market hadn't changed in the hours after I first recorded the odds. However, today's betting points to customers betting The Miz. He has dropped to +130.

This obviously means Apollo Crews' number has improved for the punter. He's now -170.

The New Day .vs. Anderson and Gallows

This one opened with the challengers to New Day's WWE Tag Team Championship as -250 favourites. The betting remained steady until today when they were moved to -300.

A bet on The New Day is now +200. It had been +170.

Roman Reigns .vs. Rusev

Wow. The edge has gone to Roman Reigns. This market opened with the outsider at +200. The number stayed at +200 last night but - as of today - it has fallen to +190.

This move has improved Rusev's odds from -300 to -290.

Seth Rollins .vs. Finn Balor

The market hasn't changed since yesterday. Seth Rollins is a +120 underdog to Finn Balor (-160).

Sasha Banks .vs. Charlotte

Another big move following action/changed lines at 5Dimes. It opened with Sasha Banks a -1200 favourite while Charlotte was +600. By yesterday night, the outsider had fallen to +170 and a bet on the WWE Women's Champion was set at -250.

Today's edge is once again on Sasha as she has shortened to -260. A winning bet on Charlotte will now pay +175.

Dean Ambrose .vs. Dolph Ziggler

There is no difference in the prices from yesterday. Dean Ambrose is -700 to retain the WWE Championship with a win over Dolph Ziggler (+400).

I'll have a few more Bodog/Bovada updates as we get closer to SummerSlam. In the meantime, you can check the odds for yourself through the links below.

  1. I know you're siding with The New Day but do you feel at all the whole Big E thing is a way for New Day to lose cleanly without looking bad, and a big PPV event like Summerslam to help cement The Club as the new champions? Or do you feel it'll be likely Survivor Series / Royal Rumble / Wrestlemania until they drop the titles?

    1. Someone wrote that to me the other day, but I disagreed.

Another suggested that Big E would come down to screw Kofi and Xavier, but the thing working against that idea is they've just got that Booty-Ohs cereal deal and it really should keep them together a while longer now.

I don't get the feeling they care about the tag titles to worry about when and where the straps are dropped. It could very well be done on the following night's Raw!

The spot on Monday when they went for Karl Anderson's balls, but he escaped is setting up him being caught on Sunday. And it makes sense for Big E being the guy to do it.

    2. Ahh, I like this look into it. Cheers! The only other match that I can't seem to decide on is the Rusev/Roman match.

On one hand, It should be Rusev, as Roman beat him easily and clean on Raw just gone

But on the other hand, if Reigns loses, it'll be such a PPV losing streak...

Could Roman perhaps win via DQ, which sets up another match next month or two?

    3. (The following is me over-thinking this)

Well, we have already seen Roman Reigns win so if he wins this one there's little point for another match.

When I saw the match on Monday, I initially thought that Rusev wins and then Reigns goes on to turn heel later in the show by stopping Balor.

If he's a heel, there isn't a need for a Rusev rematch if he loses. We've seen the win already.

    4. It's a really tough one to call

Did WWE really spend years pushing Reigns just to make him a mid-card champion? (Then again, Seth won the US title too, albeit with the WWE title too)... I just can't see WWE giving Roman the US title.

    5. It shouldn't be. The signs we all look for are telling us the option to go with is Rusev.

    6. Is there any match that you're not sure about yet? Like you still feel either side could pick up the victory and you wouldn't be surprised?

    7. I'm never 100% sure on matches because anything can happen.

There are a lot of matches on this card that wouldn't surprise me if they went against my opinion. The obvious one being Lesnar/Orton.
