Bwin's Balor & Orton Odds Go Down

Finn Balor has - as of today - moved into the role of favourite in the WWE Universal Championship match market at bwin.com.

Yesterday evening, the newcomer to the WWE main roster was 91/100 while his opponent for August 21st - Seth Rollins - was 4/5. The shift came earlier today when Balor's number was cut to 67/100 and Rollins was moved out to 11/10.

Despite the evident favouring of Finn Balor by customers of the sports betting firm, an interesting price change has occurred in the Brock Lesnar versus Randy Orton market.

Orton remains an underdog to win this match. However, the oddsmakers have cut his price from 2/1 to 17/10 since last night.

One reason why 'The Viper' has seen interest may be due to the news that was reported last night concerning Brock Lesnar and his suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The commission has announced that there will be a meeting held on August 23rd where they'll look into the anti-doping violation that Lesnar is alleged to have done while preparing for his fight against Mark Hunt for UFC 200.

The conclusion I have come up to is the punters have sided with Randy Orton to go over Lesnar because of how close after SummerSlam the NSAC hearing will be.

If Brock Lesnar does end up with a two-year ban from fighting, the media will be all over the story and they'll tie his recent activity to it. It'll look a lot better if the stories note that he was booked to lose at SummerSlam rather than win.

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it and it'll be business as usual on August 21st.

For what it's worth - Brock Lesnar has moved out from 33/100 to 2/5.

Bwin's WWE SummerSlam markets are found under 'Entertainment' on the sportsbook menu at bwin.com. You can also find the same prices and markets at PartyPoker.com.
