SummerSlam 2016 Betting : Cashing Out On Balor

I published a post yesterday titled SummerSlam 2016 Betting : Cashing Out On Reigns where I mentioned that I had cashed out a bet on Roman Reigns defeating Rusev at SummerSlam. At its conclusion, I pointed out my concerns over Finn Balor's chances of winning and mentioned that I was contemplating quitting while I was ahead with all of my Balor bets.

Well, I've done just that.

I had backed Balor to win at numerous time through last week at bwin.com. The cash out generated a little over £5 profit. So, just like with my Roman Reigns wager, I can't count this as a losing bet even if Balor winds up claiming the WWE Universal Championship on Sunday.

The more I thought about Roman Reigns potentially losing to Rusev on Sunday, the more I started to trick myself into believing that Reigns will cost Balor the victory at SummerSlam.

The reasoning behind this idea is:

1) We have seen Roman Reigns beat Rusev, so - if he does lose to the Bulgarian Brute at SummerSlam - they can segue into a Reigns/Balor feud
2) Reigns teased a heel turn after losing to Balor on the post-Battleground episode of Raw. Have plans changed, did we misread the signals or are we supposed to have forgotten all about it?
3) We have been treated to the Demon King entrance on Raw.
4) Seth Rollins has shown ass by being afraid of the Demon King

I had been on-and-off about this Reigns heel thing for a week or so. Mostly because of the news that Balor will wrestle as the Demon. I still think Balor should win if they're introducing his Demon gimmick to the main roster, but this week's Raw has made me second guess it.

To cut this long-winded theory off, there was just too many things out there leading me to predict that Balor isn't winning on Sunday, so I quit while I was ahead.

We'll find out on Sunday if it was a case of jumping too early.

The bets mentioned in this post were made at bwin.com.
