Clash Of Champions Titleholder Odds

We still haven't even seen Backlash, but it hasn't stopped some bookmakers releasing betting odds for Clash of Champions that takes place in a fortnight from tonight.

Bookies like 32Red.com are accepting wagers where customers can predict who will leave the September 25th show as titleholders. Namely, the Universal and Raw Women's champions.

The Universal Championship market has three options: current titleholder - Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

The odds are as follows:

Kevin Owens 3/10
Roman Reigns 5/2
Seth Rollins 4/1

On tomorrow night's edition of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns will take on Kevin Owens. If he wins the match, he'll be added to the already announced Kevin Owens versus Seth Rollins main event. That's why Reigns is currently a second-favourite here.

(Teaser: By the way, I've asked a bookmaker how he would price up the main event for tomorrow night's Raw. I've purposely delayed its release until the early hours of tomorrow morning so it doesn't get lost within all the Backlash posts I've published, and will publish, this week)

For what it's worth, I think the Kevin Owens versus Seth Rollins match will go ahead at CoC. I am predicting Chris Jericho will assist Owens tomorrow night and this will pave the way for a Roman Reigns versus Y2J meeting in two weeks.

As for this market - I think it's safe to back Kevin Owens to retain. I feel he has to go all the way to WrestleMania.

The Raw Women's Championship market is very interesting, but it hasn't stopped me from making a long-shot bet on it.

The oddsmakers have put up current holder, Charlotte, at 1/2. Next up is Sasha Banks at 6/5 and then Bayley is out at 7/1.

It should be worth noting that Dave Meltzer's Friday update over at F4WOnline.com noted that people in the WWE office were told not to promote anything to do with a Charlotte versus Sasha Banks match for Clash of Champions. The staff were asked to amend any story on the website that referred to the bout. There was no reason given for this, but there's obviously something going on to have the company act in this way.

I've thought a bit about this since reading the news and stumbling across these odds. I have placed a speculative punt on Bayley at 7s due to the reports of the company distancing itself from a Charlotte versus Sasha match at the pay-per-view. It's a long-shot bet, and I can absolutely see it not paying off but thought I'd have a go with all this mystery going on with the women's division.

Another thing worth noting is that the bets will be settled even if a title match does not take place at Clash of Champions. So, if a title changes hands before the show, and there isn't a title match on the card - the holder at the conclusion of the event will be the customer's winner.

As noted, you can find this market at websites like 32Red.com. Odds correct as of 10:30am BST today.
