WrestleMania 33 Betting: Another Look Through Mania Appearance Odds

In early September, the Kambi Bookmakers released betting odds where their customers could have a bet on celebrities that are, or have been, associated with pro wrestling making an appearance at next year's WrestleMania.

The list that was published consisted of ten names. In this post, I'll show you what the current odds are and point out where the customers appear to have been putting their money so far.

For a start, I may as well get the non-movers out of the way as there are a handful of selections that remain as they were on September 3rd.

CM Punk, Donald Trump, Kurt Angle, Ronda Rousey, Shane McMahon, The Rock, The Undertaker and Vin Diesel have stayed.

The prices that have been trimmed are:

Batista was 10/1, now 11/2

In September, I wrote that I had backed Batista at 10s because Guardians of the Galaxy II is due to be released a few weeks after the event.

Bill Goldberg was 13/20, now 1/2

Things have changed a lot since September, haven't they? Back then, there were a lot of wrestling fans predicting that Goldberg and Brock Lesnar would square off at WrestleMania 33. The match is coming sooner than that as it will be confirmed for Survivor Series imminently. I originally wrote that I wasn't betting on him being at Mania, but 'wouldn't be surprised' if he was there. I've been of the opinion that WrestleMania will end up having Shane McMahon versus Brock Lesnar on the card, so wasn't going to have a punt on Goldberg. As for right now - I believe there's a possibility that the company taps into the current interest in his return by either having him wrestle at Mania or be inducted into the Hall of Fame on the weekend of the show. If it's the latter, the bookie will have to pay out as the company tends to do a ceremony during the event to honour the inductees from the previous evening.

Hulk Hogan was 6/4, now EVENS

This is another one that has been noteworthy, albeit not on the level of Goldberg-Lesnar. When watching one of the recent PPVs, I noticed that Hulk Hogan's voice made its way to one of the WWE Network commercials. It's obviously not a sign that he's definitely coming back and will make an appearance at WrestleMania 33. However, it's a subtle move to start reintroducing him. I wrote in September that I felt 2017 could be the year that the company decides that the dust has settled and Hogan is brought back. Judging by the odds dipping, it seems others are of the same opinion.

You can read my thoughts on the other runners in this post.

If the markets remain available, I'll have another look through them at a later point.

Odds correct as of 12:15pm BST today. They can currently be found on these websites.
