In this morning's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed this past weekend's UFC 205 show and noted that Triple H was in attendance. It was then brought up that HHH wants to bring Conor into WWE for a WrestleMania appearance.
The talk was more or less an extension of something that Meltzer wrote in a recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter where he mentioned that WWE is talking about wanting Paige VanZant, Ronda Rousey or McGregor on hand for WrestleMania 33 in April next year.
The newsletter's editor believes that WWE will make McGregor an offer, but does not know whether he'll agree or not. Meltzer also brought up that Shaquille O'Neal is lined up for Mania 33 and the company may not want to 'overkill it' by having McGregor involved as well. However, he did state that - with McGregor being hot right now - it's 'probably the right year to have him in'.
From a betting perspective, the Kambi Oddsmakers are still offering 'Conor McGregor to make an appearance during any WWE live broadcast before the end of WrestleMania 33' at 3/1.
If you believe McGregor will be on board for Mania, and it will extend to more than just appearing at the event, then you can also pick up 8/1 odds for him to 'Participate in a Match' at WrestleMania. This is available from Betfair.com.
I've written in previous posts that I believe Ronda Rousey will end up being a part of Mania 33. I've also been on top of the Shaq/Big Show rumours and teases, so I don't feel compelled to bet on McGregor being involved with the upcoming WrestleMania.
This isn't to state I don't believe he'll be a part of future Manias.

I think with the rants he did earlier this year hes messed up most deals. They would all be dug up and plastered accross the internet if it gets announced McGregor is coming to wwe and the rants did not feel like a work to me personally even with wwe superstars calling him out after.
ReplyDeleteA surprise entrant in the royal rumble would be cool however. But they wouldn't keep McGregor quiet when hes this hot
