Strowman Cut To 25/1 Following Raw

Braun Strowman's odds to win the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble have been snipped from 33/1 into 25/1 following last night's episode of WWE Raw.

The former member of The Wyatt Family was on a tear last night. The show closed with him demolishing Seth Rollins and, most notably, Roman Reigns.

Earlier in the night, Roman Reigns was announced as the number one contender to Kevin Owens' WWE Universal Championship. They will do battle on the undercard of January's Rumble show.

The fact that Strowman attacked Reigns has evidently caused people to pick him to win the battle royal in case Roman Reigns claims the Universal strap earlier in the night. This would set up the two meeting for the championship at WrestleMania 33 on April 22nd.

I named Strowman a dark horse to win in a Royal Rumble post that was published last week. I ended the post with the following:

If Reigns does end up claiming the championship any time before the Rumble, Strowman's odds to win the battle royal are sure to plummet especially with the suggestion that the pair could meet at WrestleMania

I don't know if Roman Reigns will defeat Kevin Owens for the strap on January 29th, but the descent of Strowman's price indicates that there are people, like myself, who have placed a speculative punt just in case this is how the story goes.

For what it's worth, I still rank Chris Jericho higher than Braun Strowman even after last night.

Following Raw, my ranking of potential Rumble winners now looks like this:

Chris Jericho
Braun Strowman
John Cena
Finn Balor
The Undertaker

If you'd like to bet on Strowman at 25/1, you can find him on Ladbrokes' WWE Betting Page.
