MITB 2017 Outright Markets Republished

Kambi's WWE Money in the Bank 2017 betting markets were republished today. In this post, I'll go through the two outright markets and note how the today's odds differ from when I looked through them at the start of the week.

Women's Money in the Bank Outright Winner

Carmella opened as a favourite, with a price of EVENS, when the market for this match was first installed on Sunday. She remains a favourite. However, her price has now lowered to 4/5.

With Carmella's price being cut, two other selections have moved out. Becky Lynch and Natalya - who were both previously 2/1 each - are now 9/4.

Charlotte and Tamina have stayed at 5/1 and 10/1 respectively.

Men's Money in the Bank Outright Winner

Baron Corbin's price has dropped from 7/10 into 7/20 in the market for the victor of the male version of the ladder match.

He isn't alone, though.

The oddsmakers have also snipped the prices for AJ Styles and Kevin Owens with Styles' odds now 5/1 from 7s and Kevin Owens dropping from 10/1 into 6/1.

Sami Zayn has been moved out from 5/2 into 6/1, Shinsuke Nakamura from 5/2 into 8s and Dolph Ziggler is now 25/1 from 20/1.

Thoughts

I can understand the move for Carmella. Having a wrestler who hasn't won a major championship before suits the idea behind the Money in the Bank gimmick. Especially with this being the first-ever female version.
Many people have also predicted that James Ellsworth would end up being the lackey having to carry around the briefcase for Carmella if she were to win in a little over a week.
In my opinion, it has to be Carmella winning this as the only other wrestler  - based on my theory of it having to be won by somebody who hasn't won a title before - would be Tamina.
As for customers seemingly backing Baron Corbin  - this also makes sense because the company has been building him up. He falls into the category of a wrestler who hasn't won a major title and would benefit the most from winning this match. I have had him pegged as a potential MITB briefcase holder ever since it became clear that Money in the Bank is a Smackdown-exclusive PPV.
I don't think Kevin Owens or AJ Styles are worth a punt because I can see both wrestlers in the title picture in the long run.
Despite Corbin making the most sense based on how he is being booked, the most recent bet I placed on the match was a few weeks ago when I came up with an idea where -  avert your eyes those of you who dislike fantasy booking - Sami Zayn becomes this year's Mr. Money in the Bank and spends months going through strategies in his backstage skits. He doesn't follow through with them, but - when he does - it would be out of the blue.

We have a little over a week to see how this all plays out.

When available, you'll find the markets under 'WWE' on sportsbook/casino websites that offer betting odds from Kambi. An example can be found below:

  1. Becky or Charlotte could win for a potential Heel Turn or for a Cash In against Lana. Carmella can win the title in a normal match vs. Naomi and i don't think the give both Briefcases to the heels in one night.

  2. I personally think Lana will be a late addition and win it.

    1. Doubt it.

Should have the Women's Championship match go after the MITB match on the PPV so they can tease whoever is holding the briefcase cashing in on whoever wins the title match.

  3. Heres my thoughts on this - I can see Carmella getting the win with James' help. At some point in the match, I can see Carmella getting struck in the throat with a ladder. At this point, James will intervene & prevent anyone else from gaining victory. He will help Carmella up the ladder & thats how she'll get the win. In the following weeks, Carmella will be silent & in a neck brace due to the ladder shot to the throat. To make up for this, James will speak on her behalf. It will clearly be all Carmella's words but it will be coming out of James' mouth. Im sure WWE will think this is genius & a great way of getting heat but i think itll come across as pathetic. This will keep Carmella vulnerable leading up to her eventual & successful cash in where she will tear off the brace & reveal she was exaggerating her injuries much like Cowboy Bob Orton's arm that would seemingly never heal.

As for Tamina, she obviously has the power advantage. But in comparison to the other competitors in the match, she seemingly has one big hill to climb to get the nod to grab that briefcase. A viable alternative to Carmella in my opinion.

  4. I think we need to remember there is very likely going to be a 6th and final member here... Eva Marie or Nikki Bella.

I think the "surprise" 6th entrant will win it.

    1. Eva Marie isn't coming back and I doubt Nikki will be brought back in this match.
