New Observer Star Rating Odds For Battleground 2017 And More

Kambi's oddsmakers have added more Wrestling Observer Newsletter star rating prop bets to their markets for tomorrow night's WWE Battleground 2017 pay-per-view.

The over-under markets allow customers to predict how Dave Meltzer will rate tomorrow's matches when he reviews the event in the upcoming issue of his newsletter.

A couple of markets were published a few weeks ago. They were for the Flag match and WWE World Championship bout.

In this post, I'll look at the new markets and point out how the odds have changed in the two markets that had been available before today.

Tye Dillinger .vs. Aiden English
The traders have set the line for the pre-show match at 1.25 stars. The 'Over' and 'Under' are both available at 17/20 as of the time of publishing.

Fatal 5-Way
Tomorrow's fatal 5-way match to find a number one contender to the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship has a line of 2 stars. Just like above, the two selections to go higher or lower are 17/20 each.

Sami Zayn .vs. Mike Kanellis
The line for Sami Zayn's bout against his current nemesis, Mike Kanellis, has been set at 2.75. If you believe it will get two-and-three-quarters or more, the oddsmakers will pay out at 9/10. If you want to go low, then you're looking at 4/5.

Shinsuke Nakamura .vs. Baron Corbin
This match has a line of three stars. If you believe it will get three or more, then a win will pay out at 17/20. If not, you can back the under also at 17/20.

US Championship
With AJ Styles and Kevin Owens going one-on-one, the line has been set very high. It's at four-and-a-half. The under and over can be found at 17/20.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The line for the tag team match is set at three stars with both options at 17/20.

Flag Match
As I mentioned above, a market for John Cena .vs. Rusev was installed on July 9th. The line was set at three-and-a-half with both 'Over' and the 'Under' at 17/20 each. The odds and line have stayed where they were from day one.

Punjabi Prison Match
When this market was first installed, the line was set at one star. I felt this was way too low despite previous Punjabi prison matches given low to negative stars in the past. The line was eventually moved out to one-and-three-quarter stars.

Punjabi Prison Match 2017 star rating betting

As the table shows - despite the line being moved from one star to one-and-three-quarters, the punters are still backing the 'Over'. After moving it from 17/20 to 13/20 when at one, the clients have now moved it from 9/10 to 13/20 with the refreshed line.

Thoughts
I had already recommended the 'Over' in the Punjabi prison match  two weeks ago, so there's no point in suggesting over 1.75 stars.

Two stars for the fatal 5-way match is appealing to an extent. I'm hoping Becky, Charlotte and Natalya will do enough to have a decent outing, so will be backing the over once I've hit publish.

Another market/line that caught my attention is the one for the US Championship. The last time AJ Styles and Kevin Owens wrestled in a singles match on a PPV was at Backlash in May. This bout received three-and-three-quarter stars.

Kambi's odds can be found on these websites. A couple of examples can be found below:
