Brock Lesnar Specials Update For July 17th

It has been a few weeks since I last published a post where I looked through two WWE Universal Championship betting markets where customers can wager on Brock Lesnar's successor and the time-frame when the strap changes hands. With Raw coming up later tonight, it's likely that the markets will be taken down, so thought I'd publish an update noting the changes that have been made since June.

Next To Win The Universal Championship
Three selections have been cut in this market that will pay out on the person who becomes the next WWE Universal Champion following Lesnar. The favourite is Roman Reigns. This isn't a surprise considering there have been reports that WWE chiefs want Reigns to be the person who dethrones Lesnar whether it be at SummerSlam or WrestleMania 34. When I last looked at the market, Reigns was a 21/50 fave. He has now been cut into 3/10.
The other names whose odds have been snipped are Braun Strowman (3/1 to 6/4) and John Cena (8/1 to 4/1). I don't think either has a chance, but seeing Cena being backed makes me think that there are fans out there who must be thinking Cena's move to Raw - as a free agent - was to set up his winning of a seventeenth world title by overcoming Lesnar for the Universal strap.
With the three selections moving in, the traders have increased four others.
Samoa Joe's price has doubled from 2/1, Finn Balor is now 15/1 from 8/1, Seth Rollins has jumped out from 6/1 to 15/1 and Bray Wyatt is 17/1 from 10s.

Date Brock Lesnar Loses Universal Championship
There are nine selections in this market. Two have been cut and five have drifted out.
The selection of note that has been cut is the 'During SummerSlam' as it has been snipped from 6/4 into 3/10. The bets potentially came in from customers who believe that Brock Lesnar will drop the strap to Roman Reigns on August 20th.
The other selection to move in is the one next to 'During SummerSlam' which is 'Between First Raw After SummerSlam, But Before Survivor Series'. It had been 10/1, but is now down to 4/1.
If Lesnar doesn't drop the title at SummerSlam, I doubt he will until WrestleMania 34.
Coincidentally, or rather I am purposely going to it next, the odds for Lesnar to drop the strap at WrestleMania 34 have been increased. You can now find it at EVS. The last time I looked through them, the sportsbooks had it as a 4/9 favourite.
The other selections that have moved out are:

  • 'Before SummerSlam' has ascended to 10/1 from 9/4
  • Between 1st Raw After Royal Rumble, But Before WrestleMania 34 10/1 to 15/1
  • On 1st Raw After WrestleMania 34 8/1 to 10/1
  • No Title Loss Until After First Raw After WrestleMania 34 10/1 to 15/1
As noted, I expect the markets to be taken down ahead of tonight's Raw. I'll have another look through them when they're republished in the future.

When available, they can be found on the websites that offer betting from Kambi. A couple of examples can be found below:
