Roman Reigns' odds to win the ambulance match at WWE Great Balls of Fire have dipped slightly since I last checked in with the betting markets for Sunday's pay-per-view.
Earlier this evening, I noted that The Big Dog had drifted out from 8/11 to 7/1 after Braun Strowman became a heavy favourite by moving from EVENS to 1/18.
Reigns' price has now moved to 9/2.
Strowman is still odds-on to win. However, he has improved from the aforementioned 1/18 and now sits at 1/8.
I assume the late interest in Reigns has come from punters who have seen his price as high as 7s and have factored in that, with Reigns versus Brock Lesnar potentially the main event of SummerSlam 2017, there's a chance that Strowman does not win the match.
For what it's worth, I believed before today that the result of the ambulance match shouldn't completely matter as the company has already announced that Reigns will face whoever leaves the Brock Lesnar .vs. Samoa Joe match as Universal Champion.
Ideally, the SummerSlam challenger - Reigns - should go over in this match to build him up for SummerSlam, but - if you think about it - Strowman being victorious on Sunday would pave the way for the future.
If Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion coming out of SummerSlam, he'll have Strowman and Samoa Joe as credible challengers. Both wrestlers already have wins over him.
Odds from Paddy Power and Betfair.
