WWE NXT Viewership Number For 19/8/20

ShowBuzzdaily.com has published the viewership numbers for last night's WWE NXT on the USA Network.

The episode had a total average audience of 853,000 viewers.

Now that the result is in, Kambi's oddsmakers will settle a prop market that was published for the episode.

Customers were asked whether or not the show would do better than 700,000 viewers. 'Yes' will be the winning selection.

As you can see below, the eventual winner was 19/20 when the market was first installed on Saturday evening. It was up to 27/25 on Monday, but was down to EVS early yesterday evening.

Settling The WWE Great Balls Of Fire 2017 Observer Star Ratings Specials

In the weeks, but mainly the days, leading into WWE Great Balls of Fire 2017, the oddsmakers that price up betting markets for the casino and sports betting websites that run the Kambi platform installed a number of specials where customers could wager on how Dave Meltzer would rate the Great Balls of Fire matches in the following issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The latest copy has now been published, so - in this post - I'll run through all of the Wrestling Observer Star Ratings markets that were available for Great Balls of Fire 2017 and see how they'll be settled.

There were three types of wagers. One kind featured over/under prop bets where clients could guess whether the newsletter editor would rate over or under a specific number of stars that the trader placed on each match, the second was a long-list where customers could have a punt on the match that received the most stars in the review and the final market was a 15/1 straight bet where customers could wager on Meltzer rewarding any of the matches on the card one of his infamous Five Stars or more.

Over/Under Markets

Neville .vs. Akira Tozawa
Neville's defence of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa was the first match of the night as it took place on the pre-show. The majority of sportsbooks didn't publish match markets for this bout, but Kambi released pricing on Sunday. One of the markets the oddsmakers priced up was an Observer over/under.

Neville .vs. Akira Tozawa Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

The compiler hanged the line out at 4 stars. Both the 'Over' and 'Under' were 17/20. By match time, you could see the clients had backed the under.

I was one of the customers to go low. The reason why is because I felt that - with the match being on the Kick Off - that there was no guarantee the two would be given enough time.

Meltzer rated it three-and-a-quarter stars. Therefore, the punters were on the right track,

Seth Rollins .vs. Bray Wyatt
The opener of the main part of the show saw Bray Wyatt defeat Seth Rollins. Going in, the traders set the line at three-and-three-quarter stars with 'Over' and 'Under' both at 17/20 pick 'ems.

Seth Rollins .vs. Bray Wyatt Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

By the following morning, the traders had snipped the 'Over' into 4/5. However, on the morning of the event, the customers appeared to have backed the 'Under' as the bookies had moved back to the original price. The odds remained at these numbers right through to the match.

This match was given two-and-three-quarters as Meltzer thought it was below Seth Rollins' usual level on pay-per-view.

Enzo Amore .vs. Big Cass
The line for Enzo Amore versus Big Cass was set at three stars with 'Over' and 'Under' opening at 17/20 each.

Enzo Amore .vs. Big Cass Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

The market was stationary for a couple of days, but - by Sunday morning - the punters had moved the 'Under' into 5/9 while the 'Over' was moved out to 5/4. The prices stayed where they were right up to the moment they were taken down ahead of the opening bell.

Meltzer graded this with one star.

Cesaro and Sheamus .vs. The Hardys
This was one of the most intriguing markets of the weekend.

Cesaro and Sheamus .vs. Hardys Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

As you can see, the oddsmakers set the line at three-and-three-quarter stars with the 'Under' a 4/5 favourite to the Over's 9/10. By Friday evening, it was apparent that the customers were expecting the bout to go under as it had been slashed to 17/20. By Saturday morning, the majority had decided to place their stakes on 'Over'. The odds continued to fall from there as it closed at 18/25.

I wrote in a post over the weekend that I understood why people were backing the match to be reviewed highly. The main reason was because it was guaranteed to go at least thirty minutes, so there was enough time to tell a story. Meltzer rated it three-and-a-quarter stars. So, the early birds were on the right side when they backed the under on Friday.

Alexa Bliss .vs. Sasha Banks
The oddsmakers set the WWE Raw Women's Championship line at three-and-three-quarters with both options at 17/20. It was the 'Under' all the way from there.

As you can see, 'Under' was backed into 4/5 by Friday evening. It was at 13/20 the following morning and had descended to 5/9 on Sunday morning. The market closed early due to Sasha Banks' odds to win the match plummeted both off-shore and domestically. This resulted in Kambi temporarily removing all markets associated with the Raw Women's Championship bout. When the match odds were republished, the Observer Special was unavailable.

Dave Meltzer thought that the bout was 'just standard' for most of it. He gave it two-and-three-quarter stars, so the customers who wagered on the 'Under' through the weekend were backing the correct result.

The Miz .vs. Dean Ambrose
This market opened with the star rating line at three-and-a-half. The 'Over' was an 18/25 favourite from the first day and stayed that way right through to the moment when the market closed before the bell sounded to start the match.

The Miz .vs. Dean Ambrose Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

The match was given two-and-a-half stars. One star lower than the line.

Roman Reigns .vs. Braun Strowman
Dave Meltzer gave the ambulance match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman three-and-three-quarter stars.

When the market was installed, the oddsmakers placed the line at four stars. 'Under' was a 4/5 favourite and the 'Over' was out at 9/10.

Roman Reigns .vs. Braun Strowman Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

The customers moved in favour of the 'Under' by Sunday morning as it had been snipped to 18/25. The market stayed at these numbers until it was closed.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Samoa Joe
Unlike with the other over/under specials, a Brock Lesnar versus Samoa Joe market was published three weeks before Great Balls of Fire. When it was first installed, the traders had set the line at 4-and-a-quarter stars. 'Over' was 9/10 and 'Under' was a 4/5 favourite. It appears as though the customers liked the 'Under' hitting as they backed into into 13/20 before the traders moved the line to four.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Samoa Joe Wrestling Observer Star Rating Betting For Great Balls of Fire 2017

As soon as the line changed, the punters backed the 'Over' in a move that I agreed with. I also backed this option. I was more comfortable siding with more than four than 'Over 4.25'.

My bet turned out to be a losing one as Meltzer gave the match three-and-a-half stars. The 'Under 4.25' backers will be happy today as will those who may have backed the 'Under' when the line was moved to four.

Overall, this was a clean sweep for the 'Under' as every single market failed to go higher than the bookmakers' lines.

Highest Rated Match Of The Night

Now that you've seen what nearly all of the matches on the card got, you'll know that the highest rated bout of the night was the ambulance match which received three-and-three-quarter stars.

This match was a 6/4 second-favourite throughout the weekend.

For reference, the 'Any Other Match' that was graded one star was Enzo Amore versus Big Cass. Curt Hawkins versus Heath Slater was unrated because we didn't get to see the match properly.

Any Match To Get 5 Stars Or More?

With the highest rated bout getting three-and-three-quarter stars, it should go without stating that the market where customers could get 15/1 odds on Dave Meltzer praising a match enough to give five stars or more will end up settled as a loss.

The next show is WWE Battleground on July 23rd. Kambi has already published two over/under markets for this event and I have placed a bet on one of them. You can read about it in this post.

As of the time of writing, the sportsbook has removed its Battleground markets, but I am sure they'll be republished eventually. When available, you'll be able to view Kambi's WWE odds on websites like:

Sasha Banks' Odds Dip

Sasha Banks' odds to win the WWE Raw Women's Championship match at tonight's Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view have lowered within the last couple of minutes.

The challenger is now a +325 outsider to win the match. She had been out at +550 ever since the market was first installed in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A winning bet on Alexa Bliss to successfully retain her title will now pay out at odds of -475. She had previously been available at -1,050.

Odds correct as of 11:48pm from the 5Dimes Website.

Three Slight Changes To GBOF Match Markets

There have been a few minor changes made to a trio of WWE Great Balls of Fire match markets that can be found on the 5Dimes Website.

Braun Strowman's odds to win the ambulance match against Roman Reigns have once again shortened. He is now a -2,000 favourite. This is a drop from -1,350.

With Strowman's number decreasing, the oddsmakers have moved Roman Reigns out to +1,000 from +650.

The Miz is now a -2,600 favourite to successfully retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose. The challenger has moved up to +1,200 from +700.

An underdog has also been backed.

Enzo Amore's price to get a decision over his former tag team partner, Big Cass, has been snipped from +750 into +700.

Big Cass remains a favourite, but his price has drifted out a tad moving from -1,580 into -1,500.

'Pinfall' Now 7/20 In GBOF Main Event Betting

Samoa Joe will lose by pinfall in the main event of tonight's WWE Great Balls of Fire if Kambi customers are correct.

A betting market where clients can wager on the 'Method of Decision' - which had available on and off for three weeks - has heavily shifted in favour of 'Pinfall'.

The selection fell across the weekend moving from EVENS to 4/5 between yesterday morning and 11am today. It has now been slashed to 7/20.

As a result, the two other options available 'Submission' and 'Any Other Method' have drifted out. The latter has moved from 5/4 to 7/4 while a submission decision has doubled from 3/1.

You can view how the market moved at certain points across the times when the market was available.

I had strongly been in favour of the 'Submission' or 'Any Other Method' being winning selections. Based on television, a submission win for Brock Lesnar following Joe passing out seemed to make the most sense.

Another option would be to have a double disqualification or count-out that would done two things - kept the strap on Lesnar and protected Joe.

The market can be found alongside other specials for tonight's main event on the sportsbook and casino websites that run betting odds from the Kambi Group. A couple of examples can be found below:

Last Call For Betfair And Paddy Power GBOF Punters

The Betfair and Paddy Power Sportsbooks will close their WWE Great Balls of Fire betting markets within the next hour.

The companies tend to take down their WWE PPV markets a few hours before showtime. The Paddy Power markets have 10pm as the time closure.

Betfair's Great Balls of Fire odds can be found under 'Special Bets' on the Betfair Website.

Paddy Power customers can find its GBoF odds on Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.

Alexa Bliss' Odds Shorten At Betfair And Paddy Power

The Betfair and Paddy Power Sportsbook have cut Alexa Bliss' odds to successfully retain the WWE Raw Women's Championship at tonight's Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view.

Bliss has been cut from 1/18 to 1/25.

This has forced the oddsmakers to raise their Sasha Banks selections up to a top price of 9/1.

I've been monitoring the odds at both websites across the day and this has been the first sign of movement in hours.

Odds correct as of 8:20pm BST. They can be found on Betfair's 'Special Bets' Page and Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.

Price Dips For Rollins And Hardys In GBOF Betting

There have been a couple of price dips in the WWE Great Balls of Fire betting markets that are on the 5Dimes Website.

Firstly, Seth Rollins has been snipped from +650 into +535 for his match against Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt is still a favourite to win the match, but his price has drifted out from -1,350 to -1,005.

The Hardys - who will challenge Cesaro and Sheamus for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship in an iron man match - have lowered from +675 into +625 within the hour.

The current tag champs have moved up from -1,425 to -1,275 in this period.

Kambi Publishes Cruiserweight Championship Markets For GBOF

The oddsmakers from the Kambi Group have published match and specials markets for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match that will take place on the Great Balls of Fire Kick Off.

Neville is a 1/13 favourite to successfully retain the strap in the match market. A winning bet on his opponent, Akira Tozawa, will pay out at odds of 11/2.

A match duration market has been set at 12 minutes with both '12 minutes or more' and '11:59 or less' at 17/20 each.

The 'Method of Decision' special gives the customer two options - 'Pinfall/Submission' or 'Any Other Method'. The former is 1/3 and the 'Other' is 2/1.

Another proposition on the board is a 'Participant To Obtain The First Near Fall'. It lists Neville at EVENS and Tozawa at 18/25.

Finally, they've also priced up an Observer Star Ratings over/under. The line is set at 4 stars with the over at 17/20 and the under also at 17/20.

The markets can be found alongside other WWE Great Balls of Fire betting opportunities on sites like:

Looking Back Through Kambi's Time Props For Great Balls Of Fire

On Friday, I published a post where I went through the 'Match Duration' over/under specials that have been priced up for tonight's WWE Great Balls of Fire. I've decided to have another look through the markets to see how the punters have been wagering since then.

For those of you new to this, the oddsmaker sets a line and the customer must guess whether that specific match lasts longer or shorter than the line.

Enzo Amore .vs. Big Cass
The oddsmakers put this one up with the line at '6 minutes or over' or '5:59 or less'. It opened with both selections at 17/20 on Friday morning. Then - by the evening - the under had been backed into 4/5 before drifting back out to 17/20 yesterday morning. As of the time of writing, the under has once again been backed as it has been slashed to 18/25 with the over available at EVS.

Alexa Bliss .vs. Sasha Banks
The WWE Raw Women's Championship match duration propositions were '11:30 or Over' or '11:29 or less'. In the five times that I have visited this market, I've noticed that the under has been backed. It opened at 4/5 and is now down to 3/5. The opposite side started at 9/10 and is currently 6/5.

Braun Strowman .vs. Roman Reigns
The line of '18:00 or over' opened as a 18/25 favourite. I thought it was slightly too high, so took '17:59 or less' at EVENS. By Saturday morning, the option I backed had been snipped to 9/10 and was 4/5 this morning. It remains at 4/5. If you think the match will go eighteen or higher, you can now find it at 9/10.

Seth Rollins .vs. Bray Wyatt
The customers seem to believe that this match will last longer than fourteen minutes as the option to back the '14:00 or more' went from 17/20 to 18/25 across the weekend. A winning bet on '17:59 or less' will now pay out at even money. It also opened at 17/20.

The Miz .vs. Dean Ambrose
The line has been set at twelve minutes in this market for the Intercontinental Championship match. '12:00 or over' opened 4/5 and '11:59 or less' was 9/10. The under was backed into 17/20 by yesterday morning. However, as of today, it's the over that has seen action as it is now an 18/25 favourite. Under was one of the selections that I backed initially.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Samoa Joe
This market opened long before the others. However, it wasn't until this weekend where the odds began to change. Here are the notes I've collected for this market:

The customers are evidently expecting this one to go over twelve minutes as it has lowered across the last three visits. It currently stands at 3/5. The option to bet on '11:59 or less' has moved up from 18/25 to 6/5 since the market first opened three weeks ago.

One thing that I made a point of writing about on Friday is the fact that this card has a thirty-minute iron man match. Therefore, there's a strong chance that the under will hit in a few of these markets due to time constraints.

The main event is also tricky to call. The company has done a good job building up the animosity between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe to the point that a pre-match brawl could be booked when the match is structured. The bets are settled from bell-to-bell, so - if this scenario plays out - I believe there's a chance of the under winning here.

I had no intention of betting on the under in the main event. However, after writing the above, I've decided to add it to my bets for tonight.

The markets can be found across all the sports betting and casino websites that offer WWE Great Balls of Fire betting from the Kambi Group. A couple of examples can be found below.

5Dimes' WWE Great Balls Of Fire Odds For Early Sunday Evening

I have just had a look through the 5Dimes Sportsbook's WWE Great Balls of Fire betting odds in order to publish a regular 5pm Sunday post where I note any changes that have been made since lunchtime.

The markets are still showing the same pricing as earlier, so there isn't much to point out. I'll leave an image below for those of you who missed the previous posts.

Kambi Customers Backing Iron Man Match In Observer Betting

Wrestling bettors appear to have been backing tonight's thirty-minute iron man match to receive the most stars in the next issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

A couple of days ago, the oddsmakers from Kambi put up a market where clients could bet on the match that they believe will be rated highly by the Observer's editor, Dave Meltzer. This market contained all of the matches scheduled for tonight's event along with an extra selection - 'Any Other Match' - which would cover any late additions to the card. You can read about their release in this post.

The Universal Championship match, which will have Brock Lesnar defending his strap against Samoa Joe, opened as a 9/10 favourite. However, it was the Raw Tag Team Championship match at 4/1 that appears to have caught the attention of the punters.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter Star Ratings Betting For Great Balls Of Fire 2017

As of 4pm BST today, the iron man match is now down to 3/1.

Even though I haven't had a bet on this market during the time these odds have been available, I can understand why some may have had a punt.

With it being guaranteed to go thirty minutes at least, all four participants will have enough time to tell a story - based on how these matches tend to go - the ingredients of drama and tension will play a part in how it is received by the audience.

Having Jeff Hardy and Cesaro involved isn't a negative either.

For what it's worth, the last time the two teams met on a pay-per-view was at Extreme Rules 2017. The match was rated three-and-a-quarter stars in the following issue of the Observer.

With the Tag Team Championship match moving in, the oddsmakers have increased the price for Neville's defence of the Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa. It has moved from 6/4 into 2/1.

The problem Neville and Tozawa both face is the fact that their match is on the event's kick off. Unlike the thirty-minute iron man match, the bout will not be allocated enough time.

The markets can be found across all the casinos and sportsbooks that offer WWE odds from Kambi. A couple of examples can be found below:
