The oddsmakers from the Paddy Power Sportsbook have been busy today. They've released a bunch of WWE SummerSlam 2017 match markets and have also installed a couple of specials for the WWE Universal Championship match.
With Brock Lesnar defending the strap against three other opponents in the fatal 4-way, the bookies are taking bets on the person who will take the fall.
The odds are as follows:
They've placed Braun Strowman as a favourite to be the person who loses the match. I strongly disagree with this. Raw closed with both men going at it. It's possible that this is the next singles program for the Universal Championship, so Strowman should be protected here.
Strowman is the outsider to win the match, but he certainly shouldn't be the guy who loses the match.
In my opinion, of course.
I expect many people will like the chance of Samoa Joe being the fall guy. He's 5/4.
Brock Lesnar - who is the favourite to win the match - is in third place in this market at 11/2.
Roman Reigns at 8/1 is worth a look. If the plan is still in place for Reigns to defeat Brock Lesnar in a one-on-one match in the future, then being the wrestler who takes the fall in this match could work if the long-term goal is for Reigns to slay The Beast.
The market is found alongside regular match odds for the Fatal 4-Way on Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.
Again agreed I like the 8/1 for Reigns, it would be easy for them to pin Joe but Strowman 100% should not be pinned if the direction is he against Brock next.
ReplyDeleteReigns at 8/1 is an outstanding punt. He isn't nearly as protected as the narrative makes him out to be (he's 0-3 on PPV since retiring the Undertaker at WrestleMania, for starters).
