Of the bouts for Saturday, only two of the Smackdown match markets are changed from yesterday's post before the programme aired.
The IIconics dropped from -195 favourites, to win against Asuka and Naomi, into -265. While their opponents rose to +185 from +155.
As I've pointed out in nearly every post that I've written about this match - The IIconics are from Austalia, so I was expecting the punters to back the pair under the belief they'd get the W in their home country.
On last night's show, Asuka beat Peyton Royce. However - before the match, Billie Kay, in a promo pointed out that they were going to be in Australia, so they would win and said they had a victory dance prepared. They then went on to do said dance.
I'm even more intrigued to see if they go over on Saturday now.
The other Smackdown market that was adjusted is the one for the WWE Championship.
Samoa Joe, who will challenge AJ Styles for the title, has been snipped from +125 to +115 while Styles has moved from -165 to -155.
Styles has vowed to 'bury' Joe in Australia.
There have been adjustments made to other markets on the board since yesterday.
Cedric Alexander's price to successfully retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship has been cut from +185 into +140. As a result - Melbourne's Buddy Murphy has moved up. He remains a favourite, but is now at -180. This is an improvement from -265.
The Riott Squad have once again declined in the market for their six-person match against The Bella Twins and Ronda Rousey. You can view how the market has moved in the table below.

The heels are now down to +334 with a winning wager on the Bellas and Rousey now at -500.
Another heel team that appears to have been backed is Elias and Kevin Owens. The oddsmakers have cut them from +450 into +375. Their opponents, Bobby Lashley and John Cena, remain favourites despite drifting from -750 to -565.
The Triple H versus The Undertaker market is slightly showing different pricing to last night.

Triple H, who fell from +135 into -105 on Monday night, is now down to -110. The Undertaker is still technically the favourite as he's at -130, but his price has been drifting.
I was surprised nobody backed Daniel Bryan to beat The Miz following last night's show which saw Bryan lose to Shelton Benjamin following distraction from his Saturday opponent. Post-match saw Miz leave Bryan laying following a Skull Crushing Finale.
Bryan remains a -210 favourite. A successful wager on The Miz will pay out at +160.
The Bar, who interrupted and ended up on top of The New Day in a segment on last night's show, remain +400 underdogs to win the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship match. The champs are -600.
The Show closed with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair going at it to hype up the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship match on Saturday. Flair got the better of the champ in the exchange. The market still has Lynch a -270 fave to Flair's +190.
Finally, another market still showing the same pricing as previous updates is the one for Raw's trios match. The Shield are -280 while a winning wager on their opponents will pay out at +200.
Prices correct at 8AM BST and at the time of publishing. The latest odds can be found under 'Other Sports' on the 5Dimes Website.
Like yourself I have only just finished watching SD as well. My take away's from SD are the following. Chucked in some other notes on other markets as well.
ReplyDeleteIf WWE are going to do Women's Tag Titles then they need to start pushing more teams. IIconics lose at SSD then they're irrelevant going forward imo. May as well release them if they lose in Australia. I have backed IIconics but I wouldn't be shocked if they lost. Shouldn't do though.
Whether Bryan does win or not (I dont think he will) I still don't see AJ losing the title. The way AJ is acting saying he want's to bury Joe alive tells me if he was to lose he wouldn't let Joe get away with what he's done to his family and as we know this is the last match in the feud.
I'm 50/50 on the Cruiserweight match on one hand it's in Australia but Murphy has already lost title matches to Cedric so that's a big negative for Murphy backers as it suggests WWE don't want him to be Champion over Cedric. This could easily be a case of let's have a Cruiserweight Championship match on the kick off with an Australian opponent to get the crowd going. I'm leaving this alone from a betting point of view.
I can't see the Riott squad winning at all imo. Brie is the only one who can afford to take the pin as it's rumoured Ronda will defend her title against Nikki at Evolution. Riott squad aren't going to be pushed coming out of SSD so I don't see the point in them winning.
Elias & KO backers are punters throwing money away imo. Lashley hasn't won a match leading up to this and I cant see WWE flying John Cena half way around the world only to job out. May as well have Lashley team up with No Way Jose or something if he was going to do that.
Like you i'm surprised Bryan hasn't been backed I don't see him winning imo but I do expect to see his price shorten after losing to Benjamin.
Charlotte v Becky after watching SDLive and the Figure 8 spot virtually on the ropes I can see a scenario where Becky puts the disarm her on Charlotte only for Charlotte to reach the ropes but Becky doesn't break the count and gets herself DQ'd leading to a rematch at Evolution. I'm confident we are getting this match at Evolution and i'm confident Becky retains the title during the feud but I don't see her pinning/submitting Charlotte on 3 straight PPV's.
After watching Smackdown, scenario 3 of AJ winning and Bryan winning is definitely possible now
ReplyDeleteAJ won't lose after that promo. It would be stupid to have Bryan lose at SSD now . he already lost so many matches.
Also, I think Charlotte - Becky will end in DQ or count outout leading to a stipulated match at Evolution
Agree with you Abraham.
ReplyDeleteIf Bryan wins (I dont think he will) but it's possible then he will more than likely get his match at SD1000 in which the match ends in a no contest due to interference which possibly leads to a triple threat at Crown Jewel AJ v Miz v Bryan?
Agree with Abraham. If AJ loses then he looks awful coming out of the feud. He's fighting for his wife and kids as well as himself tbh. I wan't to bury Joe alive and i'm not leaving my home until I get confirmation that Joe is on a plane to Australia. I really can't see Joe winning at all.
I always weight up pros and cons before placing bets and I cant think of one reason for Joe to win. Any type of loss makes AJ look awful.
Agree Charlotte/Becky
Not forgetting my daughter lay's awake at night thinking Joe's the bogeyman line.
ReplyDeleteSimply has to win with the current storyline.
Small question - Did WWE say that it will be the last match for AJ - Joe feud ?
ReplyDeleteThe wording of 'There must be a winner' implies it is.
