Super ShowDown 2020 Observer O/U Results And Lines For AEW Revolution

Dave Meltzer's review of yesterday's WWE Super ShowDown 2020 event was published in the current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Now that it is out, Kambi's oddsmakers will take a look over Meltzer's report and settle the Observer star rating Over/Under markets that were released for the show.

Here are the results of the matches that had O/U markets released for them.

The oddsmakers' focus has now shifted to tomorrow's AEW Revolution PPV. Match markets, specials and Observer O/U lines have been released for it.

I've placed the matches, and their respective O/U lines, in a table below. They start off with the match which has the highest line and goes down to the bout with the lowest.

The Playbook

Bill Goldberg's WWE Universal Championship win over 'The Fiend' at WWE Super ShowDown 2020 has evidently generated a negative reaction from those who are upset that a part-timer has ended Bray Wyatt's reign as champ.

In my opinion, this isn't short-sighted on the part of WWE.

From where I'm sitting, it makes sense. The company wants to put the Universal Championship back in the hands of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, so the best way to do it - and not get a completely negative response - is to do so by having Reigns win the strap from a champion a certain congregation of fans believe is not deserving of the title.

It's from the very same playbook WWE used in 2018 when they played on the fans' annoyance with Brock Lesnar's Universal Title run before they had Reigns defeat The Beast for the strap at SummerSlam of that year.

The reaction to Goldberg's win proves WWE was right to have him as the transitional champion in this situation because fans are going to be more welcoming of Reigns becoming a champion by beating Goldberg than they would have if the plan had been for The Big Dog to win against The Fiend.

With that said - I would have preferred the John Cena seventeenth title chase culminate at WrestleMania, but that looks highly unlikely now.

Wyatt And Goldberg Both -120 In Super ShowDown Betting

Bill Goldberg and Bray Wyatt are both at -120 in a match market for their upcoming match at WWE Super ShowDown.

This might be a reaction to the construction of tonight's card as it looks like the Universal Championship bout could be the main event of the evening as there are two matches left. The other being the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship match between Bayley and Naomi.

As you'll see, in the table below, 5Dimes had the challenger at +120 when the PPV started at 5PM GMT today. His odds were down to +110 close to an hour later.

Kambi Adds 3 More Super ShowDown 2020 Match Markets

The bookmakers from Kambi have created markets for the three matches that were added to the WWE Super ShowDown 2020 card yesterday.

The first is for the tag team match that is scheduled for the pre-show. It has The Viking Raiders as 4/11 favourites over The OC (9/5).

Humberto Carrillo is a 3/4 favourite for his bout against Angel Garza (19/20).

Mansoor is 1/40 for his meeting with Dolph Ziggler (8/1).

5Dimes' WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Odds For Thursday Morning

New WWE Super ShowDown 2020 match markets were published by the oddsmakers from 5Dimes overnight. So, in this post, I'll not only point out the prices for all of the fresh markets, but also write about how earlier markets are looking on this, the morning of the show.

In order of how they appear on the board, we have.

Viking Raiders .vs. The OC
The pre-show will have a tag team match between The Viking Raiders and The OC. This match was announced yesterday and is obviously one of the newest markets.
As of this morning, The OC are +180 underdogs while their opponents are -260 favourites.
This is kind of a revenge match for the Raiders as - the last time they met in Saudi Arabia - it was as the final teams in the tag team turmoil match for the Tag Team World Cup. The OC won that one. Whether this will be referred to on TV this evening is another thing, though.

The New Day .vs. Miz and Morrison
The WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship match has been available to bet on since February 12th and was adjusted for the first time overnight.
It has seen The New Day lowered from +170 into +150 to successfully retain their straps. A decision in favour of the challengers will now pay out at -190, which is up from -230.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Ricochet
The WWE Championship market is another that I came across on February 12th. It started off with Brock Lesnar at -1,700. However, by February 22nd, his odds were slashed into -4,500. As a result, Ricochet flew out to +1,500 from +800.
Ricochet's odds have dipped overnight, though. As of this morning, he's a +1,300 underdog with Lesnar now moved up from the -4,500 to -3,000.

Bray Wyatt .vs. Bill Goldberg
The Universal Championship market has been the most active. As you'll see below, Goldberg's odds to at least get a decision over Bray Wyatt have been - for the most part - declining.

The challenger's price - which was +460 on the 12th - is now down to +110.

A winning wager on the champion is now being offered at -150. At one stage, the bookmakers had Wyatt as short as -750.

Gauntlet Match for the Tuwaiq Trophy

A market for the gauntlet match was first installed recently, so I have only one set of odds - the current ones. In fact, all the remaining markets are new.

For this one, AJ Styles is a -300 favourite. Those who would like to take 'The Field' against the favourite will find that selection at +220.

Sky Bet Publishes Markets For New Super ShowDown Matches

Sky Bet is the latest firm to release odds for the new matches that have been added to the WWE Super ShowDown card.

New Super ShowDown Matches Announced (And Odds For Them)

William Hill have published markets for the new matches that have been announced for tomorrow's WWE Super ShowDown 2020 event.

The event's pre-show will have a tag team match pitting The Viking Raiders against Gallows and Anderson.

As of this evening, the bookies have The Viking Raiders as 8/13 faves. Their opponents are 6/5.

Another bout added to the card is a rematch from Monday's edition of Raw. It'll see Humberto Carrillo meet Angel Garza.

Garza - who won on Monday - is a 1/2 favourite here. A decision in favour of Carrillo will pay out at odds of 6/4.

Finally, the local favourite - Mansoor - will wrestle Dolph Ziggler.

Mansoor is a very short favourite with William Hill as he's 1/33 while Ziggler is out at 10/1.

Kambi's New 'Feuds' Markets Following Mania 36 Reports/Speculation

In the most recent post, I wrote about a WrestleMania 36 special in which customers of the betting sites with Kambi's pro wrestling markets can gamble on who they believe will wrestle John Cena on April 5th.

The selections are 'Bray Wyatt', 'Bill Goldberg' and 'Any Unlisted'.

The reason why Wyatt and Goldberg are the key names in this market is due to the fact that - after the initially reported John Cena .vs. Elias match turned out to have been changed - speculation began to focus on Wyatt and, to a lesser extent, Goldberg as Cena's Mania dance partners began.

With the two potential match-ups being talked about, Kambi has added the bouts to its 'Road to WrestleMania 36 Feuds' specials.

In these specials, customers get to place wagers on which wrestler will win 'in a singles match between the listed participants' at any point between the day the bet is struck right up to the end of WrestleMania just as long as the match is advertised twenty-four hours before it takes place.

The match market with Bray Wyatt as Cena's opponent lists Cena at 19/10.  A win for Wyatt will pay out at 7/20.

Goldberg is 7/5 to beat Cena in the other market. A decision for Cena is being offered at 1/2.

I have backed Cena to win against Bray Wyatt at the 19/10. The best part about these specials as - per the rules - bets will voided should no match between the two participants takes place between now and Mania 36, so I have an out if Wyatt does not end up wrestling Cena.

There are other markets that have been created from Mania reports/speculation and - in the case of Edge versus Randy Orton - storyline direction. Here are the other selections and their respective prices.

The bookmakers have also republished a market that was last seen in the middle of December which had a potential Roman Reigns .vs. Bray Wyatt meeting.

Roman Reigns is still a favourite to win any meeting between the two between now and by the end of WrestleMania. His price has drifted from 2/5 to 4/6. Those looking to back the current Universal Champion can do so by getting 27/25. He was previously 7/4.

It's worth remembering that, as of this past weekend, it no longer looks like Wyatt .vs. Reigns is part of the Mania 36 plans. So, they would have to meet before then for any wagers to have action.

Sky Bet Publishes Refreshed Gauntlet Match Market For Super ShowDown

Sky Bet has republished an updated version of its market for Thursday's gauntlet match at WWE Super ShowDown.

The reason for the adjustment is due to Rusev having been scratched from the match and replaced by the returning Rey Mysterio.

AJ Styles remains a favourite. However, his price is now 4/11. He was at 1/2 when I checked in a day ago.

BetOnline's New Super ShowDown Match Markets And Mania 36 Prop Bets

BetOnline has created more match markets for this week's WWE Super ShowDown as well as priced up some WrestleMania prop bets.

For starters, they have WWE Smackdown Women's Champion - Bayley - a favourite to beat Naomi in their match on Thursday. A win for the titleholder will pay out at -260 while Naomi going over is priced at +175.

Seth Rollins and Murphy are -410 faves to successfully retain their WWE Raw Tag Team Championship against The Street Profits (+255).

A market for the gauntlet match has also been installed. However, one of the selections is no longer in the match as BetOnline's second-favourite, Rusev (+350), is being replaced by Rey Mysterio.

Sky Bet's Wyatt/Goldberg Latest Prices

When I published this morning's post, Sky Bet's market for the WWE Universal Championship match at WWE Super ShowDown was still off the board. It has now been republished along with other markets for Thursday's event.

Just like with all of the other sportsbooks I wrote about today, Sky Bet has snipped the challenger's odds to win the match.

Notes About Goldberg's Super ShowDown 2020 Odds

In a follow up to yesterday's post in which I wrote about the report that some rumoured WrestleMania 36 matches appear to have been changed, I have checked in with betting odds for WWE Super ShowDown to see if there have been any changes made to a key match on that card.

The match in question is for the Universal Championship with Bray Wyatt defending the strap against Bill Goldberg.

Yesterday's report noted that the much speculated Bray Wyatt versus Roman Reigns Universal Championship bout could be off the Mania card with Reigns facing Bill Goldberg instead.

This doesn't necessarily mean that Goldberg is winning the strap against Wyatt on Thursday in order to drop it to Reigns on April 5th, but it has forced bettors and bookmakers to entertain the possibility. Here are some notes I've made from this morning's visits to the Wyatt versus Goldberg Super ShowDown 2020 markets.

• BetOnline has snipped Goldberg from +450 into +425 in its market for Thursday's match. A win for Bray Wyatt is now being offered at -800, which is up from -850
• 5Dimes now lists the challenger at +400. This is down from the most recent +450. Wyatt is now a -600 fave. This is up from -750
• William Hill has cut Goldberg from 11/4 into 9/4 and has placed Wyatt at 1/3 from 1/4
• Kambi's market is back on the board with Bill Goldberg now at 7/5 to get the W on Thursday. The most recent price was 9/4. As a result of the challenger's odds having been snipped, Bray Wyatt is now 1/2 from 2/7

I believe it's important to stress that Dave Meltzer's report from yesterday also pointed out that the John Cena versus Elias match that he said was on for April 5th has now been shelved and, as I wrote yesterday, there could be a correlation.

John Cena chasing his seventeenth world title is a story that has been in WWE's bag for years. Only a fool would think that WWE would not go there and - now that Cena's time is being spent working on movies - this might be the right time to pull the trigger and get that story done to get another 'WrestleMania Moment'.

Therefore, Goldberg winning the title on Thursday to set up Goldberg/Reigns for the strap at Mania, is not as sure a thing as some might think. With that said, he could win the bout but not the belt.

If it goes that way, this would mean Goldberg/Reigns is not for the title, but is still a marquee match on the Mania card and - with Cena/Wyatt for the title - you get two big story matches rather than one if you have the title on the line with Goldberg/Reigns and just have Wyatt/Cena (if that is the plan!) as an undercard bout.

I'm not saying Goldberg isn't winning the strap on Thursday. It's just, as I think about it, it seems to make the most sense to have Wyatt retain and start the Cena chase from the following night's episode of Smackdown.

William Hill Publishes Ripley/Flair Mania 36 Market And More

The oddsmakers from William Hill have published a market for the most recent addition to the WrestleMania 36 lineup.

Following last week's NXT TakeOver: Portland, 2020 Women's Royal Rumble winner - Charlotte Flair - chose to challenge NXT Champion, Rhea Ripley, for the strap at the April 5th event.

Ripley has been installed as an 8/13 favourite. Her challenger is 6/5.

Markets have also been created for the new bouts added to this Thursday's WWE Super ShowDown event from Saudi Arabia.

WWE Smackdown Women's Champion - Bayley - will put her title on the line against Naomi. A decision in favour of the titleholder will pay out at odds of 4/9 while Naomi is 13/8.

A WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match has also been announced for Thursday with the present champs - Seth Rollins and Murphy - 2/7 favourites against The Street Profits (5/2).

Overseas Odds For Super Show-Down 2020

A couple of sportsbooks from overseas have been taking wagers on this year's WWE Super Show-Down PPV.

I first came across 5Dimes' markets last night and was just shown the odds from BetOnline.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The Miz and Morrison are favourites to win the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship match with both firms. 5Dimes is offering the better price for the challengers as they're -230 to BetOnline's -240.
As for The New Day? Well, BetOnline is offering +165 and 5Dimes has them at +170.

Roman Reigns .vs. King Corbin
5Dimes is offering Roman Reigns at -410 to win the cage match against King Corbin. This is better than the -440 currently available from BetOnline.
A win for Corbin will pay out at +270 with BetOnline, but 5Dimes has him at a more appealing (well, if you want to back Corbin, that is!) +290.

WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar is a heavy favourite to successfully retain the WWE Championship against Ricochet. He's -2,000 with BetOnline and a better -1,700 with 5Dimes.
Ricochet is being offered at +800 on the 5Dimes website. He's a shorter +650 with the other bookmaker.

WWE Universal Championship
Bray Wyatt is -780 to beat Bill Goldberg in the WWE Universal Championship market from 5Dimes but is a shorter -850 on the BetOnline website.
A decision in favour of Goldberg will pay out at +450 and +460 at BetOnline and 5Dimes respectively.

Prices correct as of 8:15PM GMT and taken from 5Dimes and BetOnline.

Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match Announced For Super Show-Down 2020 And Odds

On last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, a new match was announced for the upcoming WWE Super Show-Down 2020 PPV.

It'll be a gauntlet match for the Tuwaiq Trophy.

The announced participants are: AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Andrade, Rusev, Erick Rowan and R-Truth.

Sky Bet has released a market for the match. As you'll see below, the firm has Styles as a 7/4 favourite.

The event is scheduled for Thursday February 27th.

New Sky Bet Match Markets For Super Show-Down And Mania 36

New match markets for upcoming WWE PPVs have been on the Sky Bet website over the weekend.

The first couple are for February 27th's WWE Super Show-Down 2020 event from Saudi Arabia.

On Smackdown, it was announced that Roman Reigns and King Corbin will wrestle once again. This time, however, the pair will compete inside a steel cage.

Reigns is a 1/3 favourite. A win for Corbin will pay out at odds of 9/4.

Another match, that was confirmed on Smackdown, will see Bray Wyatt defend the WWE Universal Championship against Bill Goldberg.

The champ is 1/10 and his challenger is 11/2.

The final market that has been created is for the WWE Championship match that's set for WrestleMania 36.

Brock Lesnar is EVS to successfully retain his strap against the 2020 men's Royal Rumble winner - Drew McIntyre (8/11).

5/2/20 AEW Dynamite And WWE NXT Viewership Numbers Released (Plus Goldberg Guess)

ShowBuzzDaily.com has released the TV viewership numbers for last night's AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT shows.

The winner of the night was Dynamite as it had 928,000 viewers while its competition had 770,000.

The 928,000 for AEW's flagship show means that a prop market, published by Kambi, will be settled.

In it, customers were asked whether or not the episode would have a total average audience of 825,000 viewers or more.

As you'll see in the table, the odds for the winner - 'Yes' - fell from 19/20 into 17/20 between Sunday and Tuesday.

'Yes' is the winning selection in a prop market that was created for the WWE NXT number.

The line was set at 700,000 or higher. Initially, the odds for the 'No' fell from 17/20 into 3/4. However, after that, the 'Yes' was backed from 19/20 into 3/4 and then into 1/2. 

I would presume that the latter round of betting was due to the news that Charlotte Flair was making an appearance on the broadcast with a tease that she was going to answer Rhea Ripley's WrestleMania challenge that was made on Monday night's episode of WWE Raw.

A third prop will also be settled following the release of last night's figures.

In it, customers were asked whether AEW Dynamite would beat WWE NXT by 100,000 or more viewers.

The difference was 158,000. Therefore, it's another win for the 'Yes'. 

As you can see, the first adjustments came in favour of the eventual winner as it dropped from 4/6 into 1/2. However, in the later rounds of wagering, the 'No' fell from 7/5 into 13/10 and closed 11/10.

A prop for tomorrow night's WWE Smackdown on FOX is still available as of the time of writing.

As you can see, in the table below, the odds for the show to have an audience of 2.4 Million or more viewers have been on the decline after starting off at 9/10 on Sunday and is now down to 2/7.

I am guessing the drop is due to people thinking there will be interest in Bill Goldberg's appearance on the show.

And seeing as I'm doing a lot of guessing, I may as well tell you who I believe will be Goldberg's next opponent. 

Roman Reigns.

Why? Well, it would explain why Reigns made a subtle jab at Goldberg on Twitter earlier this year.

Reigns was replying to somebody who asked why he punched a pad that's positioned on the floor during his entrance. The mention of head butting a door before a match being 'stupid' seemed like he was taking a shot at Goldberg. As soon as they began to advertise Goldberg for this week, this tweet was the first thing I thought of.

We'll see how good the guess is tomorrow night.

Super ShowDown 2020 And Mania 36 Odds Notes For 5/2

Here are a few WWE Super ShowDown 2020 and WrestleMania 36 odds notes for today.

- Sky Bet has released a market for the Brock Lesnar versus Ricochet match. I first came across the odds this morning. Lesnar was a 1/10 favourite and his challenger was 11/2. They're still at these respective prices as of 4:30PM GMT.

- William Hill has installed two markets for the show. In the first, Lesnar is a 1/20 favourite while Ricochet is 8/1. There's a WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship market with The New Day 6/5 outsiders against The Miz and John Morrison (1/2)

- William Hill created a market for the Brock Lesnar versus Drew McIntyre WWE Championship match that's set for WrestleMania. I missed their initial release on Sunday afternoon, but Lesnar is 6/4 and his challenger is a 1/2 favourite

Early WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Odds From Kambi

In the previous post, I noted that Kambi had installed new markets for the latest additions to the NXT TakeOver: Portland card. They have also released markets for the WWE Super ShowDown event that will take place eleven days later.

The first match that has been set up is for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship. It'll see The New Day defend the straps against The Miz and Morrison.

As of 4:00PM GMT today, Kambi had the titleholders as even-money underdogs. The challengers are 7/10.

The WWE Championship contender was made on last night's show when Ricochet won a triple threat match against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley to determine who would face Brock Lesnar in Riyadh.

Lesnar is a very short 1/14 fave. A decision which favours his challenger will pay out at 11/2.

A lot of prop markets have been created for both matches. As well as those, Wrestling Observer star rating over/under lines have been installed. They are:
