Four-Way Tie In Match Of The Night Betting For AEW Revolution '22 Plus More

There was a four-way tie for match of the night in Dave Meltzer's review of last weekend's AEW Revolution PPV.

Meltzer's review, which was published this morning in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, had the four bouts of note each given four-and-three-quarter stars. They were the three-way for the AEW Tag Team Championship, Jon Moxley's win over Bryan Danielson, the dog collar match between CM Punk and MJF and the singles contest which saw Eddie Kingston beat Chris Jericho in the main show's opener.

From a betting perspective, Kambi will grade its market - which allowed customers to gamble on the match they thought would earn the most stars in Meltzer's review - as a dead-heat with four selections.

One of the most notable selections is the one titled 'Any Unlisted Match'. It was 20/1 initially, but had dropped into 12/1 at the start of the month. It'll be one of the four qualifying winners in the dead-heat because 'Chris Jericho .vs. Eddie Kingston' was one of the matches which didn't have its own selection in the running.

The tie means that a couple of proposition markets will be graded with 'Yes' and 'No' as the respective winners.

In the first, customers were asked whether or not two matches - or more - would get the highest amount of stars in Dave Meltzer's review.

You'll notice, in the table above, that - despite remaining an underdog of sorts throughout the betting - its odds fell leading into the weekend of the show. It started off at 6/4, but was 13/10 a day before the event.

In the second prop, customers were asked whether the top rated match of the PPV would beat the next best bout by at least half-a-star. Per the rules, 'Any 2 or more matches as highest rated will settle as NO' graded as the winning selection.

The eventual winner was a 2/5 favourite when I came across the market on February 21st. It had fallen into 7/20 a little over a week later.

A couple out of the four highest rated matches in the review were up against each other in a head-to-head. Customers were asked which, of the two, would receive the most stars in the report.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

The three-way, for the AEW Tag Team Championship, was a 7/10 favourite over Bryan Danielson versus Jon Moxley (43/20) when wagering began.

Going by the betting, it's safe to conclude the consensus felt that the singles match would perform better as its price reduced each time the market was readjusted.

The eventual winning selection - 'Same Star Rating' - was 6/4 on the weekend of the show. This was up from its starting 13/10.

There were other proposition and head-to-head specials which will be graded now that the Observer has been released. However, before I tell those stories, it's time to focus on how Kambi will eventually settle one of its most popular star ratings markets: the over/unders.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

All of Sunday's matches had lines for them. Taking a look at the table, the most noticeable observation is that there was an equal amount of matches which fell under or on/over their respective lines with six contests being graded less than Kambi's estimate and six hitting the line 'or more'.

There were two prop markets available which focused on the amount of matches with high scoring ratings. In the first, customers were able to bet whether or not six matches or more would receive four stars or higher from Meltzer while - in the other - gamblers punted on the possibility of four matches earing four-and-a-half stars or higher.

Both landed in favour of 'Yes'.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

The market which asked whether there would be over five-and-a-half matches graded four stars or more opened with 'Yes' a 7/10 favourite over 'No'.  By the weekend of the event, the eventual winner had dropped into 4/9 while its opposition had moved out from EVENS to 6/4.

The eventual losing selection of 'No' was the favourite in the market which asked whether there would be at least four matches graded four-and-a-half stars or higher.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

Despite 'Yes' starting off as the underdog, the betting appears to have sided with the winner as it fell from 5/4 into 19/20 across the days it was available.

You'll notice that Adam Page's successful AEW World Championship defence against Adam Cole was graded four-and-a-half stars in the report. It performed better than the three-and-a-half star scoring AEW Women's Championship contest which saw Britt Baker successfully defend her strap against Thunder Rosa.

Both contests were in the penultimate head-to-head for the event.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

The winning option was an 11/20 favourite to start off. It had been backed into 2/7 by the night of the event.

Finally, the dog collar match - won by CM Punk over MJF - claimed a victory over the Face of the Revolution ladder match in the last head-to-head for the PPV.

The ladder match was beaten by an entire star.

AEW Revolution 2022 Observer Star Rating Betting Results

Punk .vs. MJF started as a 3/4 favourite over the 6/4 for the ladder match and 7/4 for 'Same Star Rating'. By March 3rd, the favourite had dropped into 8/13 while the other selections rose to 17/10 and 19/10 respectively.

There will be a look over the WrestleMania 38 star rating results next month because Kambi is currently taking Over/Under wagers on the matches that are being advertised for WWE's major event of the year.

Here are the lines so far:

2 Stars
Johnny Knoxville .vs. Sami Zayn

2.75 Stars
Women's Tag Team Championship 3-Way*

3 Stars
The Mysterios .vs. The Miz and Logan Paul

3.5 Stars
Drew McIntyre .vs. Happy Corbin
Pat McAfee .vs. Austin Theory

4 Stars
Brock Lesnar .vs. Roman Reigns
Becky Lynch .vs. Bianca Belair
Charlotte Flair .vs. Ronda Rousey

4.5 Stars
AJ Styles .vs. Edge

*When initially announced as a regular tag, Kambi installed a market for the match with a line of 2.5 Stars. The new market could also end up becoming obsolete if, or more likely - when, new teams are added.

Kambi's First WrestleMania 38 Match Winner And Observer Markets Published

Markets, for some of the matches announced for WrestleMania 38, have been published by Kambi.

The title versus title match - which will see WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, take on WWE Universal Champion - Roman Reigns - has the former a 3/4 favourite over the 19/20 for Reigns.

I have backed Roman Reigns to win this match.

This is evidently regarded as the biggest bout WWE can currently offer at present. The job, for the next five to six weeks, will be to draw in a lot of new eyeballs. The result has to go the way of the top full-time guy in the business.

Sure, there may have been a case for Lesnar to avenge the loss from last October's WWE Crown Jewel, but - now that it's a battle between the premier champions - I feel Reigns has to go over.

If the plan is for The Rock to face Reigns anytime in the future whether that be in Hollywood for next year's WrestleMania, or even this year at SummerSlam (I have a long-shot idea it could happen at SummerSlam considering that Tennessee is where Dwayne Johnson first wrestled, so it could be fitting to have his last, or one of his last matches, in the State), Reigns has to win against Lesnar.

A Wrestling Observer star rating over/under market has been created for this match. The line is currently set at four stars.

On the topic of Observer star ratings markets, there is an interesting change to the one for Charlotte Flair's WWE Smackdown Women's Championship defence against Ronda Rousey.

The Reigns .vs. Lesnar market offers the regular '4 Stars or More' or 'Under 4 Stars' selections. The wording of Flair versus Rousey market is 'Over 4 Stars' or 'Under 4 Stars'. Therefore, should the ladies match fall on four stars exactly, the market would be voided.

As for the match winner market - Kambi has Rousey a 1/5 favourite. A decision which favours the champion will pay out at 3/1.

The third market is for the WWE Raw Women's Championship match between Becky Lynch and her challenger, Bianca Belair.

Belair is 11/25 to get her win back after the SummerSlam loss to Lynch. 8/5 is the offer for those looking to back the titleholder.

Four stars is also the line for Lynch .vs. Belair. It has the '4 Stars or More' versus 'Under 4 Stars' wordings as its selections.

The WrestleMania markets are just some of the new markets that have been published this week. Customers can also find markets for the matches for AEW Revolution 2022, which is scheduled to take place a week from Sunday.

How Kambi Will Grade Its Wrestling Observer Star Ratings Makets For AEW Revolution 2021

The most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter includes Dave Meltzer's review of last weekend's AEW Revolution PPV. This now means that the oddsmakers from Kambi will settle the Observer star rating markets that were published for the show.

In this post, I'll point out how the markets will be graded. I'll start with the Over/Under star rating lines that were published for all but one of the matches on the card and then go over the head-to-head and prop specials that were available.

Over/Under Markets
Kambi had over/under markets for all but one of the bouts that were announced for the event. The match that didn't have a star rating line was the one for Sting and Darby Allin versus Brian Cage and Ricky Starks. This was due to the bout being post-produced (cinematic) and would not have been given a grade by Meltzer. This turned out to be the case as Meltzer did not give it a rating.

The lines, star ratings and results can be viewed in the table below. I've added asterisks next to five of the matches as they'll explain why and how they'll be graded.

AEW Revolution 2021 Observer Star Rating Over/Under Betting Results

*The Buy-In tag team market, which had a line of 2.75 Stars, will be settled as void because there was a change in the advertised line-up with Rebel replaced by Maki Itoh.

** Kambi changed the line for the AEW Tag Team Championship match from Four Stars to 4.25 Stars. With Dave Meltzer grading the match four-and-a-quarter stars, the winning lines will be '4 Stars or More' and '4.25 Stars or More'.

*** Miro and Kip Sabian versus Best Friends initially had a line of 3.5 Stars, but it was lowered into 3.25 Stars. The bout received two-and-three-quarter stars in Meltzer's review. Therefore, the 'Under' for both lines will be the winning selections.

**** The Face of the Revolution ladder match had a line of 4.75 Stars to start off with, but - by the weekend of the event - Kambi had dropped it into 4.5 Stars. Meltzer graded it three-and-three-quarters, so both 'Under' options will be the winning selections

***** Dave Meltzer stated that Omega versus Moxley was four-and-a-half stars bell-to-bell and was 'the best match of this specific genre'. However, he went on to write that the post-match was a disaster. With four-and-a-half being graded for the match itself, Kambi will have two results. Initially, the line was set at five stars. Therefore, the winning selection - for that line - will be the 'Under 5 Stars'. The adjusted line was then placed at 4.5 Stars, so the next winning selection for the main event will be '4.5 Stars or More'.

Head-to-Heads
Kambi released four head-to-head markets for the PPV. In these markets, customers were asked to gamble which match - out of two selections - would earn the most stars in Dave Meltzer's review.

AEW Championship .vs. Any Other Match
The first head-to-head which was published had Kenny Omega versus Jon Moxley up against all of the other bouts on Sunday's card.

The AEW Championship match was available at 9/10, the option to punt on 'Any Other Match' was 11/10 and the choice to bet on there being a tie of some sort - 'Same Star Rating' - was 2/1.

As we know, the main event was the match of the night and thus will be the winning selection at the 9/10.

AEW Championship .vs. Face of the Revolution Ladder Match
It should go without saying that Omega versus Moxley beat the Face of the Revolution Ladder match in the second head-to-head that was created for the show.

AEW Revolution 2021 Head-To-Head

The ladder match received three-and-three-quarters in the review, so it was three quarters short of levelling with the main event.

Both matches were available at EVENS while those who wanted to punt on both matches could have picked 'Same Star Rating' at 2s.

Casino Tag Team Royale .vs. Page/Hardy
The Casino Tag Team Royale was up against 'Hangman' Page versus Matt Hardy in the third head-to-head. Going by the betting, the customers liked the chance of Page/Hardy beating it as the selection fell from 19/20 into 17/20 by the morning of the event.

As a result, Kambi pushed 'Casino Tag Team Royale' up from 21/20 to 23/20 and increased the option of a tie from 2/1 to 41/20.

AEW Revolution 2021 Head-To-Head

The winning selection turned out to be the Casino Tag Team Royale as its four stars beat Page versus Hardy by half a star.

AEW Tag Team Championship .vs. AEW Women's Championship
The final head-to-head saw the AEW Tag Team Championship match (Young Bucks .vs. Chris Jericho and MJF) compete against Hikaru Shida's AEW Women's Championship defence against Ryo Mizunami.

Taking a look at how the betting went, it appears as though the punters backed the tag team match to do better than the singles match because the odds for 'AEW Tag Team Championship' was lowered into 7/10 from 4/5 while the other options were increased.

AEW Revolution 2021 Head-To-Head

The betting turned out to be on the correct side. The Bucks' win over Jericho and MJF received four-and-a-quarter stars, which was three quarters more than the AEW Women's Championship match was rated.

Prop Bets
Two proposition markets were published by Kambi for the PPV. In the first, customers were asked to gamble on the prospect of at least two matches receiving the highest amount of stars in Dave Meltzer's review. In the second, the prop asked whether the difference between the top match - or matches - and the next best would be half a star or more.

Joint Winners
With the main event being the sole contest to have the most amount of stars in the review for the PPV, the winning selection in the 'Joint Winners' prop will be 'No'.

AEW Revolution 2021 Observer Prop Bet

As you can see above, the eventual winner started out as an 11/25 favourite. It was slightly pushed up to 4/9 when the 'Yes' was lowered into 6/4 from 8/5.

Margin of Victory: 0.5 Stars+
The 'Margin of Victory' prop will also be settled with 'No' as the winning selection.

That's because the next best match, behind Omega .vs. Moxley's four-and-a-half stars, was the AEW Tag Team Championship match which was given four-and-a-quarter.

New Observer 2020 Kambi Prop Market After The Settlement Of Another

Kambi has republished most of its 2020 Wrestling Observer Newsletter star ratings prop bets that were first created at the end of last year.

Included with some of the previous markets is a new prop that has been priced up after one of the earlier markets have already been settled.

The one that has already been graded asked customers whether or not a match in 2020 would be rated over the five-and-three-quarter stars that Dave Meltzer awarded to a trio of matches in 2019 (Okada/Ospreay, Ospreay/Takagi and Omega/Tanahashi). As noted in a post published last week, the Kenny Omega and Hangman Page versus Young Bucks match - from AEW Revolution - was awarded six stars in Meltzer's review of the event. Therefore, anyone who might have bet on the 'Yes' will have their bets settled in their favour.

I stated 'might have bet on the 'Yes' because a look at the wagering from December 28th's open to January 12th points to the possibility that there is a customer, maybe more, that backed the eventual loser as the 'No' was snipped from 9/10 into 4/5.

Kambi's Wrestling Observer Star Ratings Prop Bet For 2020

The new prop asks customers whether or not the current 2020 record of six stars will be broken at any point between now and December 31st.

Those who believe a future bout for 2020 will earn more than six stars can find 'Yes' at 5/4. Those who expect six stars will be unbeatable can get 11/20 for 'No'.

AEW Revolution 2020 Tag Title Match Gets Six Stars From Meltzer

The AEW Tag Team Championship match from AEW Revolution was given six stars in Dave Meltzer's review of last Saturday's event.

It should go without saying that the bout - which saw Kenny Omega and Hangman Page retain their straps against The Young Bucks - ended up being the match with the most stars in the newsletter editor's report.

Now that the match has been graded, the oddsmakers from Kambi will settle a handful of star ratings themed markets that were created for the pay-per-view.

One of the specials was a proposition market which was specific to the tag team match as it asked customers whether or not the bout would be given the most stars in Meltzer's review.

'Yes' wins as a 7/10 favourite. It was available at that price from Friday through to Saturday night before the market closed ahead of the event's start.

A second proposition market asked whether or not five or more of the matches on Saturday's card would be rated four stars or more.

The second best result given in Meltzer's review was three-and-three quarters which was given to three different bouts on the card. Therefore, the winning selection in the second prop market, will be 'No'.

The eventual winner started off as a 4/9 favourite over the 6/4 that was offered for 'Yes'. It fell to 2/5 sometime before 7PM GMT on Saturday night while its opposition was pushed up slightly  to 7/4.

AEW Revolution 2020: Prop Bet Results

Kambi also released its popular Over/Under markets for the event.

As you can see below, most of the matches were rated below Kambi's line. The exceptions were the aforementioned match of the night and PAC's win over Orange Cassidy which beat the three-and-a-half line by a quarter of a star.

The star rating result for Darby Allin .vs. Sammy Guevara hit Kambi's line on the nose.

AEW Revolution 2020: Star Ratings O/U Results

Observer betting now turns back to this weekend's WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 show. Kambi has O/U and head-to-head specials available for it.

Here are the star ratings lines for the matches that have so far been announced for Sunday.

Moxley Beats Jericho For AEW World Championship

Jon Moxley defeated Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship in the main event of the company's Revolution PPV from Chicago.

This result means that a couple of Kambi AEW specials will now be settled.

In the markets, customers were able to bet on the time-frame when Jericho dropped the strap. As well as that, they could also gamble on the person who succeed Jericho for the title.

There were two options to choose from in the 'Date Chris Jericho Loses AEW World Championship' market. The offerings were: 'Before/During March 1st 2020' and 'After March 1st'.

The winning selection is obviously the former.

Date Chris Jericho Loses AEW World Championship Special

It started out at 1/2 when the market was published in mid-September. By October, it was down to 2/5 but - from there - the customers appeared to have sided with Jericho's reign continuing through St. David's Day as the opposing selection - which had drifted out from 7/5 to 7/4 initially - went was down to 13/10 on November 16th, 6/5 by November 24th, and was at 3/4 in the first week of December.

Both options were at 17/20 pick 'em on December 14th after the eventual winner was backed from 19/20.

Then - in the first and only recorded adjustment made this year (the market was no longer available after January 15th) - the 'Before/During March 1 2020' selection was moved back up to 19/20 as the 'After 1 March 2020' selection fell from 17/20 into 3/4.

As for the 'AEW World Champion After Chris Jericho' market - the winning selection started out at 6/1 when it was released on September 16th.

It was out to 7s at the start of October, but returned to 6/1 by October 10th. It jumped back out to 7/1 on October 19th after Adam 'Hangman' Page and Kenny Omega were lowered.

Mox was out to 15/2 by Halloween before falling back into 7/1 in mid-November.

And then the selection tumbled.

I recorded it at 3/1 on November 24th, but then - by the afternoon of December 7th - Kambi had installed Moxley as a 4/6 favourite. He was then cut into 11/20 a week later and was at 2/5 when the market was last made available earlier this year.

Next AEW World Champion After Chris Jericho Market

The markets were available from most websites that have Kambi's pro wrestling betting odds. An example can be found by following the link below. These two were available from September 16th and were last seen on January 15th.

AEW Revolution (2020) Betting Favourites

AEW Revolution Betting Notes

With WWE Super ShowDown 2020 being my main focus this week, I held back on writing much about betting markets for AEW Revolution until today.

Even though I've waited until today to dedicate a post to the markets for tomorrow's PPV, I have collected the earliest prices from all the betting websites I am aware of that are taking bets on the matches.

As I noted in January, Kambi released one market for the PPV and are now accepting wagers on all of the matches that have been confirmed.

BetOnline published five markets a couple of days ago while William Hill and Sky Bet went live last night.

The earliest match prices I have can be viewed in the table below and then, below the image, there are notes pointing out any adjustments that have been made as a way to catch you all up with the latest prices.

AEW Revolution 2020 Early Betting Odds

BetOnline
BetOnline's markets were published on Wednesday. There have been some adjustments made since then.

William Hill's markets were released at approximately 9:30PM GMT last night. The firm has a full lineup of markets and most have already had action.
  • Sammy Guevara has dipped from 6/4 into 5/4 to get a win over Darby Allin. A win for the favourite is now being offered at 4/7, which is up from 1/2
  • Dustin Rhodes has slipped from 9/2 into 7/2 to beat Jake Hager. Hager is still a fave, but is now at 1/6 from 1/8
  • The Young Bucks have fallen to 2/5 from 17/20 in the AEW World Tag Team Championship market. Their opponents - Kenny Omega and 'Hangman' Page - have drifted from 17/20 to 7/4
  • Cody is now EVS to beat MJF. He was 5/4 last night. His opponent has now moved to 8/11 from 6/10

  • The Dark Order selection has dropped to 1/3 from 4/11 in the tag team market. A win for SoCal Uncensored is now out to 9/4 from 2/1
Sky Bet
Sky Bet's markets were published last night. The sportsbook has priced up for five of the matches. One market has been adjusted since I began to follow them.
  • AEW Heavyweight Champion - Chris Jericho - was EVS when I came across the market. He's now down to 4/6 favourite. Jon Moxley has risen to 11/10 from 8/11
Kambi
Kambi first published a market for the Chris Jericho versus Jon Moxley AEW World Heavyweight Championship match last month. Markets for the rest of the card were published late last night. The original market is still listing Jericho at 19/20 and his challenger is 3/4. The remaining markets are also still showing their early prices.

Super ShowDown 2020 Observer O/U Results And Lines For AEW Revolution

Dave Meltzer's review of yesterday's WWE Super ShowDown 2020 event was published in the current issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Now that it is out, Kambi's oddsmakers will take a look over Meltzer's report and settle the Observer star rating Over/Under markets that were released for the show.

Here are the results of the matches that had O/U markets released for them.

WWE Super ShowDown 2020 Observer O/U

The oddsmakers' focus has now shifted to tomorrow's AEW Revolution PPV. Match markets, specials and Observer O/U lines have been released for it.

I've placed the matches, and their respective O/U lines, in a table below. They start off with the match which has the highest line and goes down to the bout with the lowest.

Kambi's Early (And Current) Odds For February's PPVs

This past weekend, Kambi released markets for two PPVs that will take place next month.

The first was for the NXT TakeOver: Portland show that's scheduled for Sunday February 16th.

Kambi has opened booked on two of the matches that are so far confirmed for the show.

In the first, Rhea Ripley is a 2/13 favourite to successfully retain her NXT Women's Championship against Bianca Belair.  A decision in favour of the challenger will pay out at 7/2.

A grudge match will also take place on the card when Johnny Gargano goes after Finn Balor. The latter is a 13/20 favourite over Gargano's 11/10.

AEW Revolution 2020Saturday February 29th is the date of All Elite Wrestling's next pay-per-view: Revolution.

As of the time of writing, the only match confirmed is the AEW Heavyweight Championship meeting between - Chris Jericho - and his challenger, Jon Moxley.

Jericho is 19/20 while Moxley is a 3/4 fave.

Wrestling Observer star ratings over/under lines have also been published for the three matches. They are:

NXT TakeOver: Portland
Ripley .vs. Belair: 3.25 Stars
Balor .vs. Gargano: 4.5 Stars

AEW Revolution
Jericho .vs. Moxley: 4.5 Stars
