WWE Betting And News Notes For July 13

Here are a few notes about WWE Money in the Bank 2021 betting markets and some news that is being reported today that might play into some betting ideas you may want to consider (or not!).

Sky Bet's Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match Market
In a follow up to last night's post, the market for the men's ladder match has had some changes made to it.

Sky Bet MITB 2021 Men's Ladder Match

As you can see, the Drew McIntyre selection was pushed up to 11/2 from 4/1 and then to 6/1 today. I've coloured these adjustments in purple because the price is available on the company's 'Price Boost' special which appears above the market on the webpage for the match.

Riddle's price lowered from yesterday's 8/1 into 13/2 and it has now dropped into 11/2. Usually, when I notice a price lower as I am in the middle of writing posts, it's usually a result of me having a bet. Not on this occasion. In my opinion, Riddle as Mr Money in the Bank would be a distraction to what he's doing with Randy Orton as the RKO Bro team.

BetOnline's Men's MITB Ladder Match Market
There have been two price reductions made to BetOnline's market for the men's ladder match since BetOnline installed its market last week.

The first saw John Morrison's price lower from +2,000 into +1,200 sometime before 6PM BST yesterday. Change number two came sometime between last night and this afternoon with Big E's odds moved in from +500 into +450.

John Cena's Status For SummerSlam
In yesterday's post, I wrote a few lines about a concern I had in regards to whether the reported Roman Reigns .vs. John Cena match was still on for SummerSlam now that Cena is set to begin work on a new film in Europe next month. Dave Meltzer - on this morning's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio - mentioned that he had spoke with somebody and Cena's new filming schedule does not get in the way of the plan for SummerSlam.

Tag Title Match Market
Sky Bet has installed a market for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match that is now official for Sunday.
AJ Styles and Omos are 1/4 favourites to successfully retain the straps against The Viking Raiders. A decision in favour of the challengers is currently priced 11/4.

Sonya News
Cultaholic has published an article which states that Fightful reports that Sonya Deville's in-ring return is 'imminent'. The article mentioned that one plan on the table may be for the return to take place as a participant in the women's ladder match on Sunday. For what it's worth, Paddy Power is offering 25/1 for a Deville win.
There is one spot left for Sunday's match and this obviously could lead to Deville naming herself as a participant. It doesn't necessarily mean Deville will go on to win the briefcase because her involvement in the match might be to give Liv Morgan a reason to not win and spin off into a proper feud between those two. However - 25/1 for a Deville win is appealing just in case they do go that way.
This news has moved Sonya into my number 2 as potential winners. The first is another wrestler who is also not announced for the match: Becky Lynch (16/1 Paddy Power).
I am sure to change my opinion on the match as soon as I've seen Friday's Smackdown, though.

Reporting Paddy Power To IBAS

I had to ask IBAS to look into a dispute with Paddy Power Online today.

The problem I have with the sportsbook is related to a wager I placed on the US Championship match at last Sunday's WWE Elimination Chamber PPV.

I gambled on Keith Lee to walk away with the strap. As we now know, Lee was unable to make the match and was replaced by John Morrison.

Matt Riddle went on to win the match by pinning the replacement.

I logged into my Paddy Power account yesterday and noticed I had a bit of cash in it. I assumed that, just like with Sky Bet and Kambi, the wagers I had placed on the match had been voided due to the advertised participants in the match having been replaced. It wasn't until late last night when I was contacted by a friend of this blog that it became clear that the bookmaker had settled the market with Riddle as the winner.

One of the betting rules on the company's website states that 'should a match have a wrestler added/removed/replaced, so that it fundamentally alters the manner of the contest, all bets will be void'.

Paddy Power / Betfair WWE Betting Rules

Knowing that rule, and considering the fact that - had Lee entered the match - there is a chance he would have been the guy who left with the strap, I thought the customer service person, and ultimately the trader, would return my stake.

I was informed that the bet would remain a loss. The operator relayed to me that the market was settled under 'ante post' rules and that those terms and conditions would have been displayed above the market.

As someone who follows the betting, to ensure I have everything correct and can refer back to it, I take screenshots of the markets I write about. I informed the staff member that I had a copy of the page and there was no blurb that indicated it was an antepost market.

Paddy Power's WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 Page

I had wagers on The Miz to win the Elimination Chamber match that were also graded as lost. I didn't dispute those punts because I believe I lost fairly considering I thought there was a chance Miz would lose and then immediately cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase before it ended (my bet was struck before Miz removed himself from the match, but I still felt there was a chance he would become a participant via a cash-in).

I don't consider the loss on Lee fair.

The stake I am chasing is only £4 and it does seem like quite an effort to go through to get it back. What is important to me is fairness. I placed a bet on a regular match winner market. Just like any other regular match market I have gambled on in the past.

We're living in an age where advertised performers are being pulled from matches due to illnesses, injuries and even pregnancies, so I am feeling somewhat distrusting towards Paddy Power / Betfair in regards to how the firm will settle future markets in which advertised performers are replaced hours, and possibly even minutes, before the respective match.

Ask yourself this - how would the market have been settled had Morrison won?

Reigns Out Of WrestleMania 36

Goldberg .vs. Roman Reigns contract signing
I'm sure you've already heard or read about it by now, but Roman Reigns has pulled out of his WrestleMania 36 match with Bill Goldberg.

The reason - and it's an understandable one - is due to his concerns about the coronavirus and how it could threaten his immune system.

This is a genuine risk due to his previous battles with leukemia.

Dave Meltzer, on this morning's Wrestling Observer Radio, reports that Braun Strowman has replaced Reigns in the match that was recorded sometime over the past couple of days.

The match market has been taken off the board at one of the two sports betting firms that are still accepting wagers on the matchs.

Betway had Reigns at 1/10 and the Universal Champion at 19/4 last night. It is no longer available to bet on.

BetOnline's market is still up as of right now, but will surely be removed once the news reaches the company.

For what it's worth, and it isn't worth anything now, Reigns is listed as a -1,000 favourite and Goldberg is +550.

Reigns had opened at -800 to Goldberg's +425 on March 18th.

Mania At The PC, AEW Dynamite Odds And Gronk Special

As I'm sure you're all aware by now, this year's WrestleMania is now scheduled to take place from WWE's Performance Center in Miami rather than Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

This obviously means that a prop bet I wrote about last week  - which asked whether the event would be 'Moved or Cancelled' - should soon end up being settled in favour of the 'Yes' option, which was available at odds of +3,500.

For the past few days, I've been continuing to keep track of the Mania betting markets that are still available, but have been doing so with the mindset of 'why bother, the event is going to be postponed?' so I have now got to jump back into it knowing that the event is still on.

With that said, I still have the thought in the back of my mind that it isn't going to happen.

Or something.

I'm really entertaining the theory that what we're going to see on April 5th is not going to be a live event. What I think we're going to see are a bunch of matches that have been pre-recorded and aired as live.

For example  - they could have easily filmed the AJ Styles versus Undertaker match sometime during the day and that could be left in the can until April 5th. That would mean Styles, Taker, Anderson and Gallows are free to stay away from travelling any more until the Coronavirus outbreak has passed through.

Same for Bill Golderg and Roman Reigns. Their match could be recorded this Friday seeing as both men will be in Orlando for Smackdown.

With there not being any people in attendance at the Performance Center and a makeshift setup of lights and ring apron, it really could be done. And it's kind of safer to do it this way as it prevents the talent from travelling all over the country back-and-forth for the next few weeks.

Even if my theory is wrong, it's still an idea I would consider best for the current state of the business. It's only going to take one of those wrestlers to fall ill and the entire show will once again be up in the air.

I'll get back to writing about WrestleMania odds over the next day or so.  In the meantime, I would recommend anyone looking to bet on pro wrestling to check out Sky Bet as they've published markets for tomorrow night's AEW Dynamite.

Here are the prices.

Inner Circle 1/2
The Elite 6/4

Lucha Bros. 1/4
Best Friends 11/4

The Butcher and The Blade EVS
Jurassic Express 8/11

The market was first brought to my attention a little after 11:30PM GMT last night. The odds remain as they were from then.

Another market that I haven't written about is one that's available from 5Dimes concerning Rob Gronkowski's WWE future.

It's giving customers the opportunity to gamble on who Gronk will wrestle first. The selections, along with their odds, are:

Cesaro +325
Robert Roode +375
Dolph Ziggler +425
Mojo Rawley +550
Sheamus +550
Jinder Mahal +650
Riddick Moss +650
King Corbin +900

If only a UK-serving sportsbook copied this market (and odds!).

Answering A Twitter Question About Mania And The Coronavirus Threat

When I checked in on Twitter this morning, I noticed that someone had asked me the following question.

''So @WWELeaksDotOrg any odds anywhere on WrestleMania not happening as scheduled?"

I have the answer.

Or rather had.

There was one sportsbook that I am aware of that had a prop market available since last week.

MyBookie asked customers to bet whether or not the event will be 'Moved or Cancelled'. The firm was offering +3,500 for 'Yes' and -5,000 for 'No'.

The market was still available yesterday at the quoted prices, but is now off the board as of the time of writing.

Over here in Europe, no bookmaker has published a market like that. However, if you had a feeling the city of Tampa - or even the state of Florida - would try to limit the number of people converging on the city for WrestleMania in some way but still hold the event, then you could have gambled on the 'Under' in Kambi's 'Announced Attendance' for WrestleMania 36 market.

In December, Kambi had a market which had an Over/Under line of '67,5000 attendees'. Then, in late-February the line was changed. This time with the line set at '73,000 or more'. The betting that I was able to track can be found in the tables below.

WrestleMania 36 attendance

The weekend of WrestleMania is important to this outbreak story. Especially where I live as the reports I've read state that it could be at its highest threat around that time. Therefore, I have a feeling that - if Mania even goes ahead for April 5th - that there's a chance of airlines suspending flights in order to stop the spread.

Apparently, WWE and Tampa officials are meeting today about the threat. I have no idea where this will go (obviously), but - with the NBA last night announcing that it is suspending its season - you really have to start shifting to the side that wouldn't be surprised if Mania is postponed for April 5th.

Another 2 Kambi Feuds Markets

Another couple of 'Feuds' markets have been created by the oddsmakers from Kambi.

In these specials, customers get the opportunity to wager on the winner - or winners - of potential future matches on the road to WrestleMania 36.

The newest markets are for the next Johnny Gargano versus Tommaso Ciampa match and also a bout that looks to be on its way for WrestleMania weekend: Finn Balor .vs. Walter.

Gargano is a 13/20 favourite while a win for Ciampa will pay out at 11/10.

The Balor/Walter market lists the former as a 13/25 favourite while the leader of Imperium is 13/10.

In a post published on Wednesday, I pointed out new markets were released for the then rumoured WrestleMania matches.

The Goldberg versus Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt versus John Cena markets have now been taken down as the former is confirmed and the latter is as good as confirmed for the first weekend of April.

Goldberg was 7/4 to get a W against Reigns (2/5) while Bray Wyatt was a 7/20 favourite to get a decision over John Cena (19/10).

I backed Cena as I thought he would beat Wyatt to become Universal Champion, but now that their match is not for a title, I believe my bet is no longer looking good at all.

Following Super ShowDown, which saw The Undertaker squash AJ Styles in the last bout of the gauntlet match, the odds for Styles to win their next one-on-one have lowered from 8/5 into 7/5.

A win for The Phenom will now pay out at 1/2, which is up from the 11/25 he was earlier in the week.

The Playbook

Bill Goldberg Wins Universal Title At WWE Super ShowDown 2020Bill Goldberg's WWE Universal Championship win over 'The Fiend' at WWE Super ShowDown 2020 has evidently generated a negative reaction from those who are upset that a part-timer has ended Bray Wyatt's reign as champ.

In my opinion, this isn't short-sighted on the part of WWE.

From where I'm sitting, it makes sense. The company wants to put the Universal Championship back in the hands of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, so the best way to do it - and not get a completely negative response - is to do so by having Reigns win the strap from a champion a certain congregation of fans believe is not deserving of the title.

It's from the very same playbook WWE used in 2018 when they played on the fans' annoyance with Brock Lesnar's Universal Title run before they had Reigns defeat The Beast for the strap at SummerSlam of that year.

The reaction to Goldberg's win proves WWE was right to have him as the transitional champion in this situation because fans are going to be more welcoming of Reigns becoming a champion by beating Goldberg than they would have if the plan had been for The Big Dog to win against The Fiend.

With that said - I would have preferred the John Cena seventeenth title chase culminate at WrestleMania, but that looks highly unlikely now.

Kambi's New 'Feuds' Markets Following Mania 36 Reports/Speculation

In the most recent post, I wrote about a WrestleMania 36 special in which customers of the betting sites with Kambi's pro wrestling markets can gamble on who they believe will wrestle John Cena on April 5th.

The selections are 'Bray Wyatt', 'Bill Goldberg' and 'Any Unlisted'.

The reason why Wyatt and Goldberg are the key names in this market is due to the fact that - after the initially reported John Cena .vs. Elias match turned out to have been changed - speculation began to focus on Wyatt and, to a lesser extent, Goldberg as Cena's Mania dance partners began.

With the two potential match-ups being talked about, Kambi has added the bouts to its 'Road to WrestleMania 36 Feuds' specials.

In these specials, customers get to place wagers on which wrestler will win 'in a singles match between the listed participants' at any point between the day the bet is struck right up to the end of WrestleMania just as long as the match is advertised twenty-four hours before it takes place.

The match market with Bray Wyatt as Cena's opponent lists Cena at 19/10.  A win for Wyatt will pay out at 7/20.

Goldberg is 7/5 to beat Cena in the other market. A decision for Cena is being offered at 1/2.

I have backed Cena to win against Bray Wyatt at the 19/10. The best part about these specials as - per the rules - bets will voided should no match between the two participants takes place between now and Mania 36, so I have an out if Wyatt does not end up wrestling Cena.

There are other markets that have been created from Mania reports/speculation and - in the case of Edge versus Randy Orton - storyline direction. Here are the other selections and their respective prices.

AJ Styles 8/5
The Undertaker 11/25

Edge 1/3
Randy Orton 2/1

Bill Goldberg 7/4
Roman Reigns 2/5

The bookmakers have also republished a market that was last seen in the middle of December which had a potential Roman Reigns .vs. Bray Wyatt meeting.

Roman Reigns is still a favourite to win any meeting between the two between now and by the end of WrestleMania. His price has drifted from 2/5 to 4/6. Those looking to back the current Universal Champion can do so by getting 27/25. He was previously 7/4.

It's worth remembering that, as of this past weekend, it no longer looks like Wyatt .vs. Reigns is part of the Mania 36 plans. So, they would have to meet before then for any wagers to have action.

Reports Of Changes To Mania 36 Card

It was a newsworthy edition of Wrestling Observer Radio this morning as Dave Meltzer has reported there have been changes made to the WrestleMania 36 card.

According to the newsletter's editor, the much speculated Bray Wyatt versus Roman Reigns match - for the WWE Universal Championship - looks to be off.

On the podcast, Meltzer noted that he isn't one hundred percent sure it has changed, but he has been given the impression that it has. He also pointed out that, when he was informed of the change, that Bill Goldberg winning the strap from Wyatt at this Thursday's WWE Super ShowDown event came to mind as it would allow for a Goldberg versus Reigns clash for the title.

Meltzer went on to state that, when the company announced Goldberg as Bray Wyatt's challenger, many would have preferred to see Goldberg versus Reigns at Mania rather than Wyatt versus Reigns.

I am one of those people.

A few weeks ago, when Goldberg was about to reveal 'who's next' for him, I thought there was a chance that we'd see Reigns versus Goldberg at Super ShowDown. This is because of the following tweet that Roman Reigns wrote at the start of the year.

When asked why he punches a pad on his entrance during Smackdown, his reply was a a subtle jab at Goldberg's ring entrance:

Roman Reigns Takes A Shot At Goldberg

As I wrote back when I speculated that we'd see Reigns versus Goldberg in Saudi Arabia, this raised an eyebrow and made me sure that we'd see the two square off eventually.

(There was also a tease on a Raw a few years ago when they had a brief staredown on episode of Raw)

It now makes more sense if the reported change turns out to be Goldberg versus Reigns.

As it stands, Goldberg is still an outsider win the title shot on Thursday.

I've had a look at the few sportsbooks with their markets on the board.

William Hill lists him at 11/4, which is slightly shorter than the opening 7/2. Offshore site BetOnline has the challenger back at +450 after briefly moving him out to +525 following Wyatt's price being cut from -850 into -950 sometime before the afternoon of February 18th.

Date/Time
Bray Wyatt
Goldberg
13/2 8:00PM
-850
+450
18/2 12:15PM
-950
+525
22/2 7:30PM
-850
+450
23/2 10:30AM
"
"

As for 5Dimes, both wrestlers' prices have been fluctuating. You can see - in the table below - that Goldberg's price was cut from +460 into +334 between February 12th and 15th, but has been on the drift since the 16th.

Date/Time
Bray Wyatt
Goldberg
12/2 9:50PM
-780
+460
15/2 12:30PM
-500
+334
16/2 9:30PM

+400
22/2 7:00PM
-750
+450
23/2 10:30AM

Another match that Meltzer reported recently that looks to be off - and this could be correlated should Wyatt win against Goldberg on Thursday - is John Cena versus Elias.

A Wyatt versus Cena match could make sense if the we're not getting Wyatt/Reigns as it would allow for Cena to chase the 'record' should it be for the title. If it isn't for the strap, they could get to it by having Wyatt interrupt Cena's return to TV on Friday night and work towards it that way.

Another news item in the show was that other Mania bouts - from the Smackdown side - are up in the air right now.

Another Lesnar/Rumble Post

My near week-long contemplation of Brock Lesnar's Royal Rumble involvement, and how it could set up a future opponent, went in a completely different direction last night.

After writing THIS POST in which I noted there are reports that WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia for an event on February 20th and suggested that maybe Lesnar is in the Rumble to set up a challenger for that show rather than for WrestleMania, a thought struck me.

What If Mansoor Is Throwing Brock Out?

IF I am on the right track - and the Rumble is being used to set up Lesnar's opponent for Saudi Arabia  rather than Mania - then Mansoor being the person who eliminates The Beast from the battle royal would instantly place the Saudi Arabian as a contender more than it would WWE randomly announcing a Lesnar .vs. Mansoor title match for February.

Reports That WWE Is Returning To Saudi Arabia In February

There have been reports that the next WWE show from Saudi Arabia could be on Thursday February 20th.

The news intrigues me because it starts making me question whether the Brock Lesnar in the Royal Rumble angle is to set up his opponent for February rather than WrestleMania.

I think it's safe to guess that - if the event really is in Saudi Arabia - Brock Lesnar will be on the card.

This news has obviously made me start to think more about Lesnar and the Rumble after throwing out some ideas on Tuesday.

The DUD Rule

In the most recent post, I noted that the oddsmakers from Kambi had installed an Over/Under star ratings market for the Roman Reigns .vs. King Corbin match that has been added to the Royal Rumble card and thought I'd post an update about the O/U rules.

I noticed yesterday, when I was checking the results of my NJPW WrestleKingdom 14 star ratings bets, that a new rule has been applied. It reads:

Matches rated as DUD will be considered as having 0.0 stars

This was welcome news to me.

I wrote in the post about the WWE Crown Jewel 2019 star ratings results that I felt any customers who backed 'Under 1.5 Stars' in the Tyson Fury .vs. Braun Strowman were let down when Dave Meltzer graded the bout a DUD and all bets on the market were voided due to no stars being awarded.

Thankfully, this won't happen in future now that the DUD rule has been added to the rules of these markets.

Andrade Wins WWE US Championship From Rey Mysterio

Andrade Wins WWE US ChampionshipAndrade is the new WWE United States Champion after beating Rey Mysterio for the strap in Madison Square Garden last night.

The news began to filter in on social media as the house show was in progress in the early hours of this morning UK time.

When I first learnt of the title change a little after 1:30AM GMT, I checked in with Sky Bet's 'United States Champion after Rey Mysterio' market to see if it was still available.

It was there, but was taken down not long afterwards.

When I checked in, Andrade was still at the same price he was when I looked through the market late last night. He was a 2/1 second-favourite behind Seth Rollins (8/11).

The market was first installed a week after Mysterio's title win over AJ Styles on the November 25th episode of Monday Night Raw. When I first came across the market - on the night of December 4th - the eventual winner was a 2/1 favourite.

At the time, I thought there were two conspicuous absences on the list of potential winners in Cain Velasquez and Mysterio's son - Dominick.

After the title change, I'm glad I didn't request their names be added.

Unscrupulous

In a post published yesterday, I wrote about a few of Kambi's WrestleMania 36 specials and pointed out that I thought 40/1 for the Mania main event to be Daniel Bryan .vs. Roman Reigns was a generous price and 'worthy of a speculative punt'.

The thing is, maybe it was too generous.

After publishing the post, I logged into one of my betting accounts to place a small wager on the selection, but the website stated that my wager would have to be approved by the traders. I didn't bother. Instead, I chose to bet with another website using Kambi's markets and it too stated that my wager would have to get accepted.

I'm talking about a £1 bet on a selection the oddsmakers had evidently given close to a long-shot considering it was the penultimate selection on the board as it was before 50s for a Charlotte Flair .vs. Ronda Rousey match.

I sent the small wager in to the trader and I kind of knew what was going to happen.

It was declined.

Just like with wins and losses in betting, I took it on the chin. It wasn't the first time. They didn't want to take the bet, which kind of begs the question - why bother laying it out at those odds in the first place?

What I didn't like, however, was seeing the odds for the selection cut to 33/1 immediately after my wager was declined.

I find that sort of action unscrupulous as it eliminates any sort of level playing field between the customer and bookmaker.

Furthermore, it makes me question how I'll proceed with covering any price changes that Kambi makes to its markets as I won't know whether any future reductions are made due to bets or whether they have been cut because a customer - or rather a potential customer in these cases - has tried to place a bet only for their request to be denied by a trader who then proceeds to lower the odds.

Kambi has an abundance of professional wrestling betting markets to choose from and - partially because of those markets - they've given content to keep WWELeaks.org going ever since they began to produce pro wrestling specials. Seeing traders refuse bets and then cutting the odds for the selections they refused bets on negates it to an extent

If you're using the time to create all these markets, but then limit customers, refuse bets and slash odds without accepting wagers then what is the point?

Body Of 'Tony' From 5Dimes Found

For the past few months, I have finished off nearly all of the posts covering the 5Dimes Sportsbook's WWE betting markets with a link to a story about the company's founder - William Sean Creighton (AKA 'Tony')  - who was kidnapped in Costa Rica a year ago and had been missing ever since.

I did so as I thought it would be best to be straight up with current and potential customers about the situation.

This situation has had a development over the past few days.

Earlier this week, I read a report that Creighton's body had been found buried in a cemetery in the city of Quepos in Costa Rica. Just like when I first began to read into the story about Tony's disappearance, I didn't know how genuine - or accurate - the reports were as I was going by a Spanish written articles from sources I didn't know at all. This was not the first time in the past few months that I had read about a body being found only for the report to be false. Therefore, I waited for the mainstream to report on it.

News sites like ESPN have now ran with the latest story and the reporters were given confirmation from the US State Department that Costa Rican authorities confirmed with them that the body found in Quepos was that of the missing sportsbook owner.

The ESPN article shared the following statement from the department:

'We can confirm Costa Rican authorities identified the remains of a US citizen in Costa Rica.. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss. We are closely monitoring local authorities' investigation into the cause of death. We stand ready to provide all consular assistance. Out of respect to the family during this difficult time, we have no further comment'.

The article goes on to note that a Homeland Security investigation into alleged money laundering by 5Dimes - which began in 2016 - is still open.

Notes About McIntyre's KOTR Odds

A number Drew McIntyre's King of the Ring odds were shortened today and I have a feeling I know why.

This morning, I came across an image of Andrade and Charlotte Flair in front of a WWE poster while apparently in Colombia.

The poster in the background has McIntyre's name at the top with Andrade and Flair following below. The main interesting point about this poster is it has an image of McIntyre with either the WWE or Universal Championship on his shoulder.

I surmise this may have resulted in people believing there's a possibility that McIntyre will become King of the Ring and progress from there to win either of the championships.

Take a look for yourself. There are other things on the poster that stood out to me when I first came across it.

Andrade and Charlotte Flair In Colombia

There is a FOX logo on the poster. I believe the Spanish reads something along the lines of 'Acquaint yourself with the WWE', so it isn't an advert for an event as such. The FOX sign may be to promote TV, but something doesn't add up.

As far as I am aware - WWE's TV deal in Colombia is with Canal 1 and not FOX.

Another thing worth drawing attention to is Andrade is billed as 'Andrade Cien Almas' on the bill. I find this notable because the company dropped the last part of his name earlier this year.

I don't know if there is a correlation between this picture surfacing and McIntyre's odds to win the King of the Ring lowering as the outright winner markets at Sky Bet and William Hill are unchanged. However, the oddsmakers from Kambi have made adjustments.

Kambi moved McIntyre from 9/4 into 2/1. This now puts him at the same pricing as Sky Bet, but William Hill has retained him at a more appealing 11/4.

King of the Ring Outright Winner Odds From Kambi

The McIntyre adjustment has affected other markets that Kambi has for the tournament. For example, the match market for next week.

McIntyre's odds to win Monday's first round match against Ricochet has also declined since yesterday. As you can see below, the first sign of action came in favour of the latter as Ricochet's price was snipped from 6/5 into 23/20 within the first two days.

The latest change has seen McIntyre come in from the 8/13 he was moved to from 3/5 by yesterday morning into 13/25.

Date/Time
Drew McIntyre
Ricochet
21/8 1:30PM
3/5
6/5
23/8 9:00AM
8/13
23/20
24/8 11:20AM
13/25
13/10

As I wrote earlier this week, I had McIntyre as my pick to win the tournament but my confidence in him doing so has lowered after he was touted as a possible winner by the commentary team and Booker T on Monday's edition of Raw.

Bliss And Cross Are Women's Tag Team Champions After The IIconics

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on last night's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw and - as a result - will now be the winning selection in a betting market in which Sky Bet customers could have placed wagers on who would succeed The IIconics for the straps.

Bliss and Cross weren't runners in the market when it was first published in April. However, after they were eventually put together as 'friends' in WWE storylines, the wrestlers were inserted at 7/1 in Early June.

Their price fluctuated at points over the two months and went as low as 6/4 by August 2nd and remained at this price right up to just before the market closed, for what turned out to be the last time, at 11PM BST yesterday.

Asuka and Kairi Sane were 4/6 favourites when the market closed. They had drifted out from 1/6 when the eventual winners fell from 8/1 into the aforementioned 6/4.

Lynch And Reigns To Be WWE 2K20 Cover Stars

Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch in the WWE 2K20 Commercial

Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns have both been confirmed as the cover stars for the WWE 2K20 game that will be released later this year.

This news will result in there being a dead-heat in a Sky Bet market - that was created last year - which allowed customers to gamble on the star, or in this case - stars, who made the cover of the 2020 edition of the game.

The market was first installed on July 1st 2018 with Ronda Rousey a 2/1. As for Lynch and Reigns - they were 33/1 and 12/1 respectively.

WWE 2K20 Betting - Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns Joint-Winners

You'll see - in the table above - that I made monthly notes of the market. By December, Lynch's odds began to fall. This coincided with her getting hot months earlier and beginning a journey to the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Reigns, on the other hand, rose to 20/1 in August but was then moved to 5/1 around the time he took a leave of absence from WWE to fight leukaemia. Upon his return, he was reinserted into the market and fell from 20s into 8/1 between March and April.

The last time I saw the market was on May 10th. At the time, Lynch was a 1/6 favourite. Reigns was in second at odds of 7/2.

The opening favourite - Ronda Rousey - was 20/1 by then.

You can view all of the selections - and the prices I was able to follow - in the table below.

Another Look Over Sky Bet's New 'Champions After...' Markets

On Thursday, I published a post where I pointed out that Sky Bet had released its new 'Champion After..' markets following the crowning of new titleholders at WWE Extreme Rules 2019. I've decided to publish another post noting the prices of the selections in all of the specials.

I'll start with the markets that haven't been adjusted since Thursday.

Next US Champion After AJ Styles Betting Odds

The market in which Sky Bet customers can place wagers on the 'United States Champion after AJ Styles' still has the former champ - Ricochet - as an even money favourite.

Next Smackdown Tag Team Champions After The New Day Betting Odds

Heavy Machinery are 6/4 favourites to succeed The New Day as WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions. The second-favourites are previous champs - Daniel Bryan and Rowan, who are 3/1.

Intercontinental Champion After Shinsuke Nakamura Betting Odds

There has been a slight change in the market for the 'Intercontinental Champion After Shinsuke Nakamura'.

Aleister Black has moved from 11/8 into 6/5. He is one of the wrestlers I backed when I first came across the market on Thursday evening.

Another name I didn't really think about until I created the tables was 'Rusev'. At 20/1, I thought it was worth having a small gamble on him just in case the company decides to have the former tag team at odds when Rusev returns.

Universal Champion After Brock Lesnar Betting Odds

Seth Rollins' price to become the next WWE Universal Champion after Brock Lesnar has lowered from EVS to 5/6.

The other selections that have had price cuts are those that I backed on Thursday. Kevin Owens has moved to 12/1 from 16/1, Ricochet from 20/1 to 16s and John Cena to 25/1 from 33/1.

New 'Champion After..' Markets From Sky Bet

With some of WWE's titles changing owners at Extreme Rules 2019, the oddsmakers from Sky Bet have published new 'Champion After..' markets where clients can place wagers on who they believe will succeed the respective titleholders.

In this post, I'll go through the new markets and point out the favourites in each and - where applicable - I'll mention any selection that grab my attention.

Smackdown Tag Team Champions After The New Day
The bookies have Heavy Machinery 6/4 favourites to be the next Smackdown Tag Team Champions following The New Day. Next on the list are the previous champs, Daniel Bryan and Rowan at 3/1.

WWE Intercontinental Champion After Shinsuke Nakamura
The market in which customers can place bets on Shinsuke Nakamura's successor as Intercontinental Champion has Ali as a 5/4 favourite. Even though I haven't bet on him, it's understandable to see Ali at the top as there was a tease of a feud between the two when they met backstage during a segment on this week's episode of Smackdown.
Aleister Black as an 11/8 second-favourite is another one I get. In fact, I think I'm going to back him as soon as I finish writing this post.
Previous champion - Finn Balor - is 5/1. It is worth noting that there are reports he'll be taking a hiatus from the company once his SummerSlam commitments are done.

WWE US Champion After AJ Styles
Ricochet is an even-money favourite to regain the US Championship from AJ Styles. Also in the mix is Rey Mysterio at 4/1.

WWE Universal Champion After Brock Lesnar
The market for Brock Lesnar's successor as WWE Universal Champion has Seth Rollins at the top. He's at EVS.
I've been overthinking what could happen with Lesnar and I've backed a handful of names other than Rollins because I have a feeling this will be a long reign.
The names I've gone for are Ricochet 20/1 (It's a gamble on the brief interaction between them on Monday night being intentional for the future), John Cena 33/1 (I'm still going with the idea that Cena will get the seventeenth title win), Kevin Owens 16/1 (already backed Owens to win the Royal Rumble when I thought Lesnar versus Owens for the WWE Championship could be a Mania match if Owens' babyface run continues).

I'll write more about the markets in future posts.
