''So @WWELeaksDotOrg any odds anywhere on WrestleMania not happening as scheduled?"
I have the answer.
Or rather had.
There was one sportsbook that I am aware of that had a prop market available since last week.
MyBookie asked customers to bet whether or not the event will be 'Moved or Cancelled'. The firm was offering +3,500 for 'Yes' and -5,000 for 'No'.
The market was still available yesterday at the quoted prices, but is now off the board as of the time of writing.
Over here in Europe, no bookmaker has published a market like that. However, if you had a feeling the city of Tampa - or even the state of Florida - would try to limit the number of people converging on the city for WrestleMania in some way but still hold the event, then you could have gambled on the 'Under' in Kambi's 'Announced Attendance' for WrestleMania 36 market.
In December, Kambi had a market which had an Over/Under line of '67,5000 attendees'. Then, in late-February the line was changed. This time with the line set at '73,000 or more'. The betting that I was able to track can be found in the tables below.
The weekend of WrestleMania is important to this outbreak story. Especially where I live as the reports I've read state that it could be at its highest threat around that time. Therefore, I have a feeling that - if Mania even goes ahead for April 5th - that there's a chance of airlines suspending flights in order to stop the spread.
Apparently, WWE and Tampa officials are meeting today about the threat. I have no idea where this will go (obviously), but - with the NBA last night announcing that it is suspending its season - you really have to start shifting to the side that wouldn't be surprised if Mania is postponed for April 5th.
I think Wrestlemania will get postponed. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteAlbeit, I still think the whole situation is a bit of an overreaction at this moment of time. But that's just my opinion of course.
I'm sure it will be postponed. Just need Tampa to make the first move.
