Notes About McIntyre's KOTR Odds

A number Drew McIntyre's King of the Ring odds were shortened today and I have a feeling I know why.

This morning, I came across an image of Andrade and Charlotte Flair in front of a WWE poster while apparently in Colombia.

The poster in the background has McIntyre's name at the top with Andrade and Flair following below. The main interesting point about this poster is it has an image of McIntyre with either the WWE or Universal Championship on his shoulder.

I surmise this may have resulted in people believing there's a possibility that McIntyre will become King of the Ring and progress from there to win either of the championships.

Take a look for yourself. There are other things on the poster that stood out to me when I first came across it.

Andrade and Charlotte Flair In Colombia

There is a FOX logo on the poster. I believe the Spanish reads something along the lines of 'Acquaint yourself with the WWE', so it isn't an advert for an event as such. The FOX sign may be to promote TV, but something doesn't add up.

As far as I am aware - WWE's TV deal in Colombia is with Canal 1 and not FOX.

Another thing worth drawing attention to is Andrade is billed as 'Andrade Cien Almas' on the bill. I find this notable because the company dropped the last part of his name earlier this year.

I don't know if there is a correlation between this picture surfacing and McIntyre's odds to win the King of the Ring lowering as the outright winner markets at Sky Bet and William Hill are unchanged. However, the oddsmakers from Kambi have made adjustments.

Kambi moved McIntyre from 9/4 into 2/1. This now puts him at the same pricing as Sky Bet, but William Hill has retained him at a more appealing 11/4.

King of the Ring Outright Winner Odds From Kambi

The McIntyre adjustment has affected other markets that Kambi has for the tournament. For example, the match market for next week.

McIntyre's odds to win Monday's first round match against Ricochet has also declined since yesterday. As you can see below, the first sign of action came in favour of the latter as Ricochet's price was snipped from 6/5 into 23/20 within the first two days.

The latest change has seen McIntyre come in from the 8/13 he was moved to from 3/5 by yesterday morning into 13/25.

Date/Time
Drew McIntyre
Ricochet
21/8 1:30PM
3/5
6/5
23/8 9:00AM
8/13
23/20
24/8 11:20AM
13/25
13/10

As I wrote earlier this week, I had McIntyre as my pick to win the tournament but my confidence in him doing so has lowered after he was touted as a possible winner by the commentary team and Booker T on Monday's edition of Raw.
