King And Queen Of The Ring 2024 Betting Favourites

Here are the betting favourites for WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 as the show was starting.

• Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (Pre-Show Winners)
• Cody Rhodes
• Sami Zayn
• Liv Morgan
• Nia Jax to win Queen of the Ring final
• Gunther to win King of the Ring final

I used a handful of betting firms for this list because BetOnline only had markets for three of tonight's matches.

WWE King And Queen Of The Ring '24 Odds For Saturday Morning

I have just visited BetOnline's WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 markets ahead of today's show to make note of the current odds for this catch up post. As of the time of writing, the sportsbook is offering betting on only three of the matches schedule for this afternoon's event. Therefore, I'll run through those matches and then take a look at what is on offer - from European firms - for the rest of the card.

Starting in order of how the matches appear on the BetOnline website, we have..

Women's World Championship

I first began following the betting for Becky Lynch's title defence against Liv Morgan on May 21st. At that time, BetOnline had the titleholder as a -175 favourite to Morgan's +135.

By the following evening, Lynch's price had dropped into -225 while the bookie's placed the challenger's odds up to +160.

Interestingly, when I noticed the next change in the market, both selections' odds have improved with Becky Lynch up to -215 and Morgan then at +165. However, since then, all of the price drops have sided with Morgan who currently sits at +100 while Becky Lynch, despite still being classed as the betting favourite, has drifted up to -140.

WWE Undisputed Championship
Cody Rhodes was a -2,500 favourite to successfully retain the WWE Undisputed Championship against Logan Paul (+800) when I first began to follow the market on May 21st. 

The following day, Rhodes' price had been slashed into -5,000 while Logan Paul's price had been pushed up to +1,200.

And that's where the market still is as of 9:30am bst TODAY.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
The market for the triple threat match, which will see Sami Zayn defend the IC Strap against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed, has seen the champion backed in the earlier stages while, in the latter ones, the price for a Reed win has declined.

As you can see, in the table above, Zayn started out at -250 but is now at -500. Reed, as the longshot, started out at +1,200 but was moved to +2,500 the following day. The price has since fallen into +1,800.

Chad Gable's odds have jumped out from +175 to +310 in this period.

As mentioned in the opening, the BetOnline Sportsbook does not currently have markets for the other bouts on the card. Companies like Paddy Power and Sky Bet have been taking wagers since midweek for most of them.

Queen of the Ring Final

Ahead of last night's Queen of the Ring semi-final between Bianca Belair and Nia Jax, the firms were offering 'Bianca Belair or Nia Jax' as a selection alongside one for Lyra Valkyria.

Going by the wagering, it appears both firms have seen interest in a win by Valkyria.

In my opinion, it makes sense for someone with the name of Valkyria to become a 'Queen'. Whether that's WWE's mindset is another thing entirely.

King of the Ring Final

Just like with the Queen of the Ring finals, the sportsbooks offered 'Randy Orton or Tama Tonga' as selections ahead of their semi-final last night. Now that Orton has been determined as Smackdown's representative in the final, the markets now obviously have him as the sole selection.

Interestingly, you can see that there odds for Randy Orton recently shortened with Paddy Power while Gunther's was lowered with Sky Bet.

With WWE revealing the winners of both tournaments will secure title shots at SummerSlam, I believe the both finals are kind of opened up because we've seen Nia Jax threatening Bayley, Lyra Valkyria having issues with both Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan.

Then, on last night's Smackdown, we saw Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton shake hands in a backstage segment. Then we also have Gunther heading to Berlin in the PLE following SummerSlam so a case could be made for all finalists.

To close, a Women's Tag Team Championship match was also set up yesterday. As of right now, Paddy Power is offering Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill as heavy 1/25 faves over Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae (7/1).

Notes About WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Betting Markets

Here are some notes I've made about the betting markets for today's WWE Crown Jewel 2021 event.

This isn't as in-depth as I usually try to make these comparison posts, but I hope it is of some interest.

The Usos .vs. The Hurt Business
From the betting websites I've been following odds for the event, Kambi is the only firm with a market for the Kick Off match.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions - The Usos - are 1/20 favourites over their opponents.  A win for the challengers will pay out at 7/1.

Mansoor .vs. Mustafa Ali
Unsurprisingly, Mansoor is a heavy favourite to win another match in Saudi Arabia.

Sky Bet was the first company I noticed with a market for the match. It had Mansoor at 1/33 to Mustafa Ali's 10/1. The odds have since changed with Ali lowered into 6/1 and Mansoor now at 1/12. It's worth noting that - even though Mansoor should win - I thought 10/1 was worth a £2 gamble for an upset so that may have been why Ali's odds were trimmed.

Over on the BetOnline website, the favourite has been backed from -1,000 into -1,400.

RK-Bro .vs. AJ Styles and Omos
Kambi's market for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship has sided with the champs. 

RK-Bro have dropped from 2/13 into 1/14 since betting began last week.

A win for AJ Styles and Omos is now 11/2. It was initially 7/2.

Sky Bet's market has seen the champs backed from 1/2 into 1/16 within a little over a fortnight.

Queen's Crown and King of the Ring Finals
If you've visited this blog over the past few weeks, you may have seen that I have been covering Sky Bet's outright markets for both the Queen's Crown and King of the Ring tournaments.

Sky Bet's outright winner markets have now closed. However, the company has published regular match markets for the two finals.

When I came across the market for the King of the Ring final yesterday afternoon, I noticed that Xavier Woods was 4/5 and Finn Balor was 10/11. 

Upon this morning's visit, I noticed there had been a flip with Balor now 4/5 to Woods' 10/11.

The Queen's Crown match is unchanged from when I came across it yesterday. It lists Doudrop as a 4/7 favourite over Zelina Vega (5/4).

Bill Goldberg .vs. Bobby Lashley
The first adjustment in Kambi's market for Goldberg versus Bobby Lashley surprised me because the latter's odds slightly moved in from 7/2 into 3/1. As a result of this, Goldberg's price - as the match favourite - was moved to 1/5 from 2/13.

Goldberg is now at 1/8 while Lashley is 4/1.

You'll notice that something similar happened with Sky Bet's market with the early decline siding with Lashley and then the late betting on the fave.

Big E .vs. Drew McIntyre
Big E is a short-priced favourite to successfully retain the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre.

Sky Bet has the champ at 1/20 to McIntyre's 8/1 while Kambi has Big E at 1/40 and his challenger at 8/1.

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Triple Threat
Sky Bet was the first market I came across for Becky Lynch's WWE Smackdown Women's Title defence against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.

Sasha Banks was initially 5/1. I thought that - considering she will be the only member of the Smackdown roster in the match, when the draft chances take place from tomorrow - it was worth having a gamble on Banks. That may have been one of the reasons why her price was lowered early.

As of most recently, it appears as though the punters are siding with Bianca Belair because the former Smackdown Champion's odds have lowered since she challenged Charlotte Flair for Raw's version of the title on Monday. Belair winning the Smackdown strap tonight would set up a rematch - this time in a champion versus champion contest - next month at the Survivor Series even though - in that scenario - the titles would be held by ladies from the other brand.

Edge .vs. Seth Rollins
Kambi's market for the Edge versus Seth Rollins Hell in a Cell match started off with Rollins dipping from 3/1 into 2/1. This moved match favourite - Edge - up from 1/5 to 1/3. From there, however, a slide began for the favourite. He landed into 1/9 - from 2/13 - sometime before 10:15AM BST today.

Roman Reigns .vs. Brock Lesnar
The Universal Championship markets tell a similar tale if you compare the odds from a couple of the websites here in Europe, but then there's a slightly different take overseas.

Both Kambi and Sky Bet opened with the early interest coming in on the titleholder.

You'll notice that, in both examples above, that the later adjustments have been landing on the side of the challenger.

BetOnline's market slightly contrasts that narrative.

The early drop - just like at Kambi and Sky Bet - went the way of Roman Reigns because he was placed at -220 from -200 while Lesnar rose to +155 from +150. Lesnar then fell back into +150 before the recent drops have sided with Reigns.

Sky Bet's KOTR And Queen's Crown Odds For October 16

The oddsmakers from Sky Bet have republished their tournament winner markets for the King of the Ring and Queen's Crown.

On last night's Smackdown, Finn Balor qualified for the final with a win over Sami Zayn. His price as a favourite has now dipped into 10/11 from 11/10.

Balor's opponent will be determined on Monday night when Xavier Woods and Jinder Mahal meet in the second semi-final match of the tourney.

Woods is a 13/8 second-favourite to be crowned king. He was most previously 15/8. Mahal - on the other hand - has slid into 4/1 from 9/2.

Shayna Baszler remains Sky Bet's favourite to win the Queen's Crown. Her odds have moved in from 8/11 to 1/2. Before last night, Carmella was a second-favourite. However - now that she has been eliminated, after losing to Zelina Vega - Vega has moved into second at odds of 10/3. This is down from 6/1.

Zelina Vega's opponent will be known by the conclusion of Monday's Raw. Shayna Baszler's semi-final opponent - Doudrop - has lowered from 9/2 into 4/1 following all the adjustments that have been made now that Carmella is out of the running.

As far as my betting has gone - I have lost on a couple already (Carmella and Natalya), but still have Zelina Vega (6/1) and have just had a small gamble on Doudrop just in case there is a follow-up to last night's Smackdown which saw Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville surprise, and ultimately beat, Naomi in a 2-on-1 match. 

I could see Naomi avenging Friday's result by messing things up for Baszler as she meets Doudrop on Monday night sending Doudrop to the final.

KOTR And Queen's Crown Tournament Winner Update For October 15

On tonight's Smackdown, there will be a couple of semi-final matches for the King of the Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments.

This means that a selection from each of Sky Bet's tournament winner markets will end up being eliminated from the running.

To determine the first finalist for the King of the Ring tournament, Finn Balor will meet Sami Zayn.

Sky Bet has been lowering the odds for Balor to become the King. The most recent adjustment I was able to notice was when the favourite dropped into 11/10 from 6/5 sometime before 7:30PM BST today.

Balor's opponent for tonight had drifted out from 4/1 to 7/1 over the past couple of days.

Over in the first Queen's Crown semi-final, Carmella will take on Zelina Vega to see who will meet Shayna Baszler or Doudrop on Thursday.

Both of tonight's wrestlers had drifted out over the last two days with Carmella - despite remaining second behind tournament favourite: Shayna Baszler - moving up from 5/2 to 3/1 and Vega increasing from 11/2 to 6/1.

The two other wrestlers in the running have shortened since the market was republished in midweek with Baszler dipping into 8/11 from 10/11 and her Monday night opponent - Doudrop - snipped from 5/1 into 9/2.

Latest KOTR And Queen's Crown Outright Winner Odds From Sky Bet

Sky Bet's King of the Ring and Queen's Crown outright winner markets were republished this afternoon.

Finn Balor is once again the sole favourite to be the King of the Ring at the completion of the tournament. He had most recently been a joint-favourite with Xavier Woods.

Balor is currently 7/4 while Woods is 15/8.

On Friday night, Balor will meet Sami Zayn in the first semi-final match of the tournament. Zayn is - in my opinion - now rightly positioned as the tournament underdog at a price of 5/1.

Raw's semi-final will see Jinder Mahal (7/2) compete against Woods to see who'll head to the final three days later.

The Queen's Crown market now has Shayna Baszler as a 10/11 favourite. She was most recently EVS after initially being priced a 3/1 second-favourite.

Baszler will compete against Doudrop (5/1) on Monday night.

Carmella is now the current second-favourite at 5/2. She'll meet the market's outsider - Zelina Vega (11/2) - on Friday night to determine the first finalist.

Both finals will take place during WWE's Crown Jewel event that is scheduled to take place a week from tomorrow evening from Saudi Arabia.

A Look At Sky Bet's WWE Royal Tournaments Markets

Earlier this week, Sky Bet published outright winner markets for the King of the Ring and Queen's Crown tournaments that have now began to play out on WWE TV and will culminate at WWE Crown Jewel on October 21st.

No one, other than those in the know, were aware of the participants and tournament matches when the markets were installed. However, now that there are brackets - as well as results of the first batch of quarter final matches, from Friday's Smackdown - I can spotlight the early odds for the participants.

During Smackdown, the winners of the first couple of King of the Ring matches were Finn Balor and Sami Zayn.

Both men were offered by Sky Bet ahead of the bracket's release with Finn Balor a 9/2 second-favourite and Zayn at 12/1.

Balor scored his win over Rey Mysterio, who was not one of the selections in Sky Bet's market. Zayn's victory came at the expense of Cesaro, who was 7/1 to win the tourney.

Balor and Zayn will meet in Smackdown's semi-final this coming Friday. 

I dislike using the word 'lock' when it comes to any sort of sports betting. However, with no match markets available, I'll state that I strongly believe Sami Zayn is losing on Friday due to the fact that the final is being held in Saudi Arabia - a country that he has been unable to visit for previous WWE events due to his religion.

Tomorrow night's WWE Raw has scheduled Kofi Kingston .vs. Jinder Mahal and Xavier Woods versus Ricochet as its quarter final matches.

Sky Bet had Woods as the 4/1 favourite to win the tournament when its book was opened. Kofi Kingston was 10/1, Ricochet was 20/1 and Jinder Mahal was surprisingly 33/1.

The Queen's Crown market listed Liv Morgan as a 2/1 favourite. She fell to Carmella (10/1) in one of the quarter final matches on Friday's Smackdown. 

The second quarter final had Zelina Vega - who was 16/1 to win the tournament - go over 10/1 Toni Storm.

Monday will see 3/1 second-favourite, Shayna Baszler, take on Dana Brooke (25/1) in one match while the other will be contested between Natalya (16/1) and Doudrop (8/1).

Considering Baszler's nickname is the 'Queen of Spades', and with her being second-favourite behind a now eliminated Liv Morgan, I feel it's safe to conclude that she has become the fave to win the crown.

Both finals are scheduled for WWE Crown Jewel which takes place a week from Thursday.

KOTR 2019 Betting: After Week 5

After five weeks of weekly tournament action, the King of the Ring tournament has concluded with Baron Corbin being crowned winner.

Throughout the entire tournament, I've published weekly posts with updates pointing out how certain markets for the tourney ended up being settled and will conclude this coverage in this post.

Before I get to all of the specials that have been settled from Corbin's victory, I can safely say that a market, published by Kambi, in which customers could have bet on the 'Exact Composition of Finalists' will be settled with 'Baron Corbin .vs. Chad Gable' being the winning selection.

The eventual winning selection of 'Corbin .vs. Gable' was not even in the running when the market was initially priced up in late-August. It made its way into contention when the market was readjusted on September 4th and was available at 33/20.

By the morning of Monday September 9th, which was the last day Kambi took bets on it, the selection was cut from the aforementioned 33/20 into 9/10 and stayed at this price right up to later that day when betting was closed before the first semi-final took place on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Another one of Kambi's markets for the final, which was published on August 28th and was closed on September 9th, was a special that allowed customers to bet on the 'Losing Finalist'.

When it was first installed, 'Chad Gable' was 10/1. However, after winning against Andrade in the quarter finals, his price began to decline and - on the day the market closed - he was an even money favourite to lose the final.

As mentioned in a post published last night, Corbin closed as a 4/7 favourite in a match winner market Sky Bet created for the final.

The eventual winner had started out at 4/9, so it would appear that the punters felt that Gable had a chance of winning.

Sky Bet had match markets for the quarter finals and semi finals and also had an outright winner special during the tournament (see links at bottom of this page). The company had the best price out of the three sports betting firms that released an outright winner for the tournament. As you'll see in the table below, Corbin was 16/1 to be crowned king in mid-August.

By last Monday, when the market was last seen, Corbin was the favourite at odds of 6/4.

William Hill also closed its market on Monday September 9th with Corbin a 6/4 favourite. The bookmaker opened its tournament winner special on the same day as Sky Bet, but had the eventual winner at a lower 13/2 than Sky Bet's 16s.

Kambi - the only other sportsbook that I am aware of that had an outright winner market - opened its book a day after Sky Bet and William Hill and had Corbin at 4/1. The market was taken down yesterday evening with the two finalists being the last selections left in the running.

Corbin closed as a 13/25 favourite.

As I have covered in all of the other 'KOTR 2019 Betting' posts, Kambi had 'Stage of Elimination' markets in which customers could gamble on where the participants' tournament came to a close.

The special for Baron Corbin was published on August 16th and the options were: 'Quarter Finals or Before', 'Semi-Final or Losing Finalist' or 'Tournament Winner'. The eventual winner was 4/1 and remained at that price when the price for Corbin to have an early exit was cut from 33/20 into 6/5.

Corbin's 'Stage of Elimination' market was last seen on August 26th, which is not something I can say for the one which allowed customers to gamble on Chad Gable's 'Stage of Elimination'.

The Gable special was created shortly before WWE announced the tournament bracket on August 16th. All of Kambi's King of the Ring specials were removed shortly after that and were gone until five days later. 

The Gable market did not return along with the others. I surmise this is because - with Gable drawing Shelton Benjamin in 'Round 1' and with the potential of meeting Andrade in the quarter final - the 'Quarter or Semi Final' looked like an obvious exit.

I doubt anybody backed it, but - if they had - the winning selection ended up being 'Reaches Final' and it was 17/1 for the short time the market existed.

There were plenty of other tournament specials from Kambi for the tournament. 

A 'Top Babyface .vs. Top Heels' market gave customers the opportunity to wager on who they thought would win the tournament in groups. 

The selections were split into three categories. 'Top Babyfaces' consisted of Ali, Cedric Alexander, Kevin Owens, Ricochet and The Miz while the 'Top Heels' were Andrade, Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, Elias and Samoa Joe. The participants I didn't name, including Chad Gable, all made up the 'Others' grouping.

So, from betting, the winning selection turned out to be the 'Top Heel' group which started out at 1/3 on August 16th, but had declined to 1/10 within ten days.

That wasn't the only 'Babyfaces .vs. Heels' special that was made. 

When the tournament was in progress, a new 'Babyfaces .vs. Heels' special was published. The heel group, consisting of the the baddies left in the tourney - Andrade, Baron Corbin, Elias and Samoa Joe - started out as  2/5 favourites on August 28th but fell to 11/25 in a little over a day. The counter group of babyfaces (Ali, Cedric Alexander, Chad Gable and Ricochet) opened at 7/4.

The winning group was moved to 11/10 on September 4th and stayed at this price right up to the day the semi-finals began.

Last night's finalists are both from the United States of America, so this means that 'USA' will be the winning selection in a betting market in which clients could have bet on the 'Nationality of Winner'.

In this special, the 'USA' was up against 'Canada' and the 'Rest of the World'.

The winning selection started out at 11/10 and was adjusted to 8/13 on August 21st after 'Canada' was taken out of the running following Kevin Owens' elimination in the first round. 

'USA' began to drift out as customers sided with the 'Rest of the World' and - by the time the market closed - the selection was up to 5/2.

There was also a 'Brand of Winner' special which allowed customers to gamble on the roster the eventual winner is a member of.

'Raw' opened as a 21/50 favourite and - when it was last made available on September 9th - had ended up at 1/4 following some back-and-forth betting within the near month.

An alphabet market was also created. In it, customers could gamble on the first letter in the name of the winner.

There were three options to chose from. They were 'A-B', 'C-D' and 'E-Z'. 

The group 'B' was included in started out at 7/5 on August 16th. It was then adjusted to 17/20 on August 21st and declined from there. By the time the market was last available on August 26th, the selection had dropped into 7/10, which made it a closing joint-favourite with the 'C-D' selection.

Finally, there was a special in which customers could bet on the 'Age of Winner'. There were two selections the gamblers could choose from. They were '34 Years or Less' and '35 Years or More'.

As I noted in THIS POST last week, when the two wrestlers qualified for the final, both were thirty-four years old. However, Baron Corbin turned thirty-five last Friday. This, therefore, moved him into representing the '35 Years or More' category, which had started out as a 7/5 underdog on August 16th and had climbed to 15/4 before the market closed on August 26th.

Odds For Tonight's KOTR Final

Kambi's King of the Ring 'Tournament Winner' market was taken down a short time ago.

I'll write more about it once we know who has been crowned king, but the closing favourite was Baron Corbin at 13/25.

Corbin's fellow finalist, Chad Gable, was 13/10 when the market was closed.

Even though he closed as the outsider to Corbin, Gable's price declined across the past few days.

Sky Bet's match winner market is still available until 11:00PM BST and it also has Corbin a favourite although - from betting -  it's once again Gable who appears to be the punters' pick.

As you can see in the table below, Gable was 13/8 when I came across the market on Thursday night. I made frequent visits to the website and noticed that Gable had dipped to 11/8 early this evening and had moved down to 5/4 when I looked before writing this post.

Sky Bet's KOTR 2019 Final Odds

Sky Bet has published a match winner market for the King of the Ring final.

As of 9:30PM BST this evening, the favourite is Baron Corbin. He's 4/9 while his opponent - Smackdown's Chad Gable - is 13/8.

The bout will take place on this coming Monday's episode of WWE Raw.

Note About Kambi's Remaining KOTR Market

In one of the posts I published yesterday, I wrote that Kambi had published a match market for the WWE King of the Ring final. This is partially not the case.

What I didn't pay attention to was the fact that the market was titled 'Tournament Winner'. Therefore, it's the outright winner market I have been following but with the two finalists left.

With that said, from today, I will continue to keep track of this market but will use a table with the prices with Baron Corbin and Chad Gable on them.

Here's the main table that I've been keeping track of from the first day it was published right up to 10AM BST today.

From now until Monday,  I'll record the adjustments in a table like you'll find below.

As you can see, the first sign of interest between yesterday afternoon and today has gone the way of Chad Gable as his price has declined from 9/4 into 8/5.

Kambi's KOTR Final Odds

The oddsmakers from Kambi have published a market for the King of the Ring final.

As of this afternoon, Baron Corbin is a 2/7 favourite to win the bout and be crowned king. His opponent - Chad Gable, who progressed to the final with a win over Shane McMahon on last night's episode of Smackdown - is 9/4.

WWE has announced that the match will now take place on Monday night's episode of Raw. It was originally scheduled for Sunday's Clash of Champions PPV.

(Update: This is not a match market, but rather the 'Tournament Winner' market that has been available for weeks. I wrote an update in THIS POST)

Interesting Note About A KOTR Specials Market

Here's something interesting that I noticed while looking through some of Kambi's prop/specials markets for the King of the Ring this morning.

The 'Age of Winner' Over/Under special had two options when it was first created on August 16th. One was '34 Years or Less Wins' and the other covered an age of '35 Years or More'.

As you can see, the option to bet on the winner being thirty-four years old or younger was backed from 1/2 into 1/7 between August 16th and 22nd.

The market closed on Monday August 26th.

We now know that the scheduled final is Baron Corbin .vs. Chad Gable, so I thought I'd check the ages of the two wrestlers to see what could happen in regards to this market.

Gable turned thirty-three on March 8th, so he falls into the '34 Years or Less' category.

Baron Corbin is thirty-four.

For now.

Raw's representative was born on September 13th 1984 so, by the time Corbin meets Gable on Monday, he'll be competing for the '35 Years or More' category and has a chance of ensuring the selection wins as a closing 15/4 outsider.

KOTR 2019 Betting: After Week 4

We now know who will compete in the final of the King of the Ring tournament after this week's editions of WWE Monday Night Raw and WWE Smackdown contested two semi-final matches.

As I have been doing for the last four weeks, I'll go over all of Kambi's tournament markets to see how this week's results affected the props and specials. Before I do this, however, I have to tie up a couple of lose ends from last week's results.

Some Things I Missed Last Week
With Andrade being eliminated from the tournament on last week's episode of Smackdown, I forgot to cover a couple of prop bets that would have been settled from that result.

The first was a proposition which allowed customers to wager on Andrade being Smackdown's representative in the final.

When the 'Finalist From Smackdown' prop was first installed on August 21st, the 'Yes' was a 7/10 favourite while the 'No' was EVENS.

As you'll see in the table below, the customers evidently backed the 'Yes' as it was down to 13/25 within the first four days and was then at 1/3 on August 28th.

The winning selection went from the aforementioned EVS right up to 2/1 in the week it was available.

Another Andrade prop I failed to write about in last week's post was for a Yes/No on him being the 'Tournament Winner'.

This market was put up on Wednesday August 28th and remained stationary all the way through to its closure on Monday September 2nd.

The winning selection turned out to be the 'No', which was a 13/25 favourite.

Now, onto the results from this week's Raw and Smackdown.

Baron Corbin beats Samoa Joe and Ricochet
A couple of sports betting websites had winner markets for the triple threat match. Baron Corbin was a 4/6 favourite when Kambi closed its markets at 5:00PM BST on Monday evening. Sky Bet's market was available right up until 11:00PM that night and had Corbin closing as an 8/11 fave.

Baron Corbin's win means that he was the winning selection in a betting market in which customers could have bet on the person who had the 'Best Finishing Position From Raw'.

All of the representatives from the red brand appeared in the market. The eventual winner opened at 33/20 on August 16th, but was moved to 2/1 when the market was republished the following week (after the brackets were announced).

He closed as an 11/10 joint-favourite with Ricochet, whose price was declining leading up to his quarter final meeting with Samoa Joe.

The market was not republished for this week's show. This is obviously because there was a match market for the semi-final.

Another market that was taken down on September 2nd and didn't come back was a prop in which customers could bet on Baron Corbin being the 'Finalist From Raw'. This was similar to the one that was available for Andrade to be Smackdown's representative in the final that I wrote about above.

As you can see, the eventual winning selection - 'Yes' - had started out at even money when it was first priced up. It rose to 27/25 after the 'No' was backed from 7/10 into 4/6 before August 30th.

Corbin passing through Samoa Joe and Ricochet now means that a few 'Stage of Elimination' specials markets were settled as well.

Before the tournament bracket was revealed on Friday August 16th, Kambi had a 'Stage of Elimination' market for Samoa Joe with three options. They were 'Eliminated in Round 1', 'Eliminated in Quarter or Semi Final' and 'Reaches Final'. The market was taken down shortly after WWE revealed its bracket, but any early bettors who took the middle option covering a quarter or semi-final departure will have their bets settled in their favour at odds of 3/4.

A refreshed market was published on Thursday August 22nd with the bookie offering Joe's elimination occurring in the 'Quarter Final', 'Semi Final' or to be one of the finalists. The eventual winning selection of 'Eliminated in Semi Final' was 13/5 throughout.

Ricochet's 'Stage of Elimination' market was first published on August 16th and, unlike the other markets in this category, it was not changed once Kambi became aware of the brackets.

In the Ricochet special, the options were 'Quarter Finals or Before', 'Semi-Final or Losing Finalist' or 'Tournament Winner'.

As you'll see in the table below, the winning selection was 4/9 when it was first published. Its best price was the 9/4 it had drifted out to by August 24th.

The closing favourite was the first option and this would be because the punters felt that Drew McIntyre would eliminate Ricochet in the first round.

Chad Gable Progresses To Final
The scheduled semi-final of Chad Gable .vs. Elias did not happen as Elias was ruled out due to injury. His replacement turned out to be Shane McMahon, which was quite a coincidence to me as - while drafting up the most recent 'My Bracket' post - one of the ideas I scrapped was Shane McMahon replacing Elias and progressing to the final to meet Ricochet.
With the scheduled bout not taking place as advertised, any match market for Gable .vs. Elias would be voided.

The rules of Kambi's 'Stage of Elimination' markets stated that the 'bet refers to the exact stage of where the listed participant is eliminated from the competition'. Therefore, with Elias qualifying past the quarter final stage and not participating in the semi-final, I believe the correct call is that he was eliminated in the semi-final stage even though he did not wrestle in this round.

There were two 'Stage of Elimination' markets for Elias. The first came out on August 16th and it's safe to say there isn't any grey area as to how that one will be settled as it will be the option titled 'Quarter or Semi Final', which was 19/20.

The refreshed market offered 'Quarter Final', 'Semi Final' and 'Reaches Final' as the three options. The winning selection should be the 3/1 for the semi final elimination.

Gable being Smackdown's finalist means that his selection wins the 'Best Finishing Position From Smackdown' special.

Gable had started out at 17/1 when the market was first installed on August 16th. The market was taken down at 5:00PM BST on Monday September 2nd and - at the time - the eventual winner was 6/1. This is mainly because his quarter final opponent - Andrade - was a favourite to win their match and ultimately go on to represent Smackdown in the final.

I'm reluctant to write about other markets like the 'Exact Combination of Finalists' until I've seen how the final plays out, so I'll write about that one in the final part of this series, which will be published next week.
