WOR Covers Kambi's Fast Lane 2019 Observer Markets

On this morning's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez took a look over Kambi's Observer star ratings markets for Fast Lane 2019. I've made some notes as I was listening.

Women's Tag Team Championship
When discussing the 3.25 star line for Bayley and Sasha Banks' WWE Women's Tag Team Championship defence against Nia Jax and Tamina, Bryan states that he thinks the match could go under the line. Meltzer adds that he believes strongly in Bayley and Sasha Banks as they both want to make the title mean something, so he would not bet against them. However, he was not willing to be on record as saying the match could go over the line because the Boss N Hug Connection have opponents who might be difficult to get a three and a quarter match out of.

The punters appear to be on the same mindset as the 'Under' has moved in slightly. It's 4/5 today, but was 17/20 yesterday.

WWE Championship
The line of 3.75 stars for Daniel Bryan's WWE Championship defence against Kevin Owens might be too low according to Dave Meltzer.
Bryan Alvarez feels that the match could have a screwy finish, so stays on the fence by saying he could see it getting 3.75 exactly.

The price for 'Over 3.75 Stars' has been snipped from 3/4 into 7/10 since yesterday morning.

Six-Man Tag
Meltzer was reluctant to suggest the trios match could go above or below the bookie's line of 3.75. He stayed right on the 3.75. Alvarez chose to guess it'll go under by a quarter of a star. For what it's worth, the hosts agreed later in the show that this could be the match with the most heat due to it being Roman Reigns' return.

As for the betting so far - the 'Over 3.75 Stars' selection has been snipped in the market. It has moved in from 19/20 into 9/10.

Asuka .vs. Mandy Rose
The line of 2.75 for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship match might be too high according to Dave Meltzer. This is mainly because he feels there's a chance the match might be positioned poorly on the card (match placement and the time allotted to it might affect how it performs).
Bryan, on the other hand, pointed out that Asuka and Mandy Rose had a good TV match a few weeks ago and - after initially saying it could get two-and-a-half - changed his pick to saying it'll hit 2.75 on the nose.

The bookmakers have moved the 'Under' down from 23/20 into 4/6 since the market was first installed.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship
Bryan believes that The Usos .vs. The Miz and Shane McMahon will go lower than the line of 3.25 because it's a setup for a potential Miz versus Shane match at WrestleMania. He believes the bout will end up with a screwy finish that could result in it getting a low rating. Dave agrees with Bryan's assessment.

For what it's worth, I have not bet on this match but - looking at the matches and possible outcomes - I believe this will end up being a regular bout with a proper finish. I would bank on the Flair/Lynch and Bryan/Owens being the matches on the card with screwy conclusions. A third would seem a bit overbooked. This has post-match angle written over it, in my opinion.

The gamblers have backed the 'Under' as it has decreased from 23/20 into 4/5 since yesterday morning.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship
When the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship line of 3.75 was brought up, Dave strongly opined that it will go 'Over' if given enough time. He went on to note that The Revival versus Chad Gable and Bobby Roode has been great and stated that adding Ricochet and Aleister Black is an enhancement rather than a negative.
Bryan also agreed that it has potential to go above the bookmaker's line.

As you can see above, the punters' opinions are just as strong as Dave's in their belief that this could go beyond the line. The 'Over' was cut from 11/10 into EVS by yesterday night. It has since been snipped into 4/6.

Becky Lynch .vs. Charlotte Flair
Finally, the hosts spoke about the Becky Lynch .vs. Charlotte Flair match. Bryan pointed out that he doesn't think it'll beat the line of 3.75 and brought up the same reasoning I did in this post from yesterday
Meltzer mentioned their four star match from WWE Evolution may have been one of the greatest matches in WWE history, but Bryan referred to the fact that Becky will have to spend the entire match selling her leg. Dave didn't say whether he thought the match could go under or over, but did point out that he expects it to be heated.
