Two Bouts Win Extreme Rules 2019 Match Of The Night Betting And More

There was a two-way tie for Match of the Night honours in Dave Meltzer's review of WWE Extreme Rules 2019.

However, there was no tie in Kambi's 'Highest Rated Match of the Night' betting market that was available to customers leading up to Sunday's PPV.

That's because the two matches fell under one category in the market - 'Any Male Tag Match'.

The bouts of note were Roman Reigns and The Undertaker's victory over Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon as well as The New Day's WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship triumph in a triple threat match.

Both received four stars from the newsletter editor.

When the market was first installed. 'Any Male Tag Match' was a 2/1 second-favourite behind the Ricochet versus AJ Styles match for the WWE United States Championship. It had been cut into 33/20 by Sunday night.

The two matches appeared in other Observer star ratings themed markets over the weekend.

Kambi had a head-to-head market where customers could guess which match, out of the two tag title contests, would receive the most stars in Meltzer's review.

The four stars for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship match beat out The Revival versus The Usos by a half.

In Friday's rundown of the markets, I noted that the head-to-head which pitted Roman Reigns and The Undertaker .vs. Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon against Braun Strowman .vs. Bobby Lashley was a battle of potential low scoring matches. How wrong was I? The Strowman versus Lashley match fell short of tying by a quarter of a star.

A few prop bets will also be settled now that the issue has been released and winners have been identified.

The proposition market titled 'Curtain Raiser' allowed customers to bet on the opening match of the main card being awarded the most stars in Meltzer's review. The Reigns/Taker versus McIntyre/McMahon match was in fact the opener, so this means that the 'Yes' won at odds of 5/4.

With two bouts both receiving the highest amount of stars, the prop named 'Joint Winners' will pay out with the 'Yes' winning at 2/1.

With the Smackdown Tag Title match being one of the two winners, the prop named 'Title Match' - which asked customers to bet whether or not a match for any championship received the most stars - was settled with the 1/4 favourite, 'Yes', the correct selection.

The bookies expected the mixed tag team match to be the 'Main Event' and that's why they were offering 1/40 on the last match of the night not being given the most stars in the review.

(As the Money in the Bank cash-in was not advertised ahead of time, the mixed tag was the qualifying match for this bet.)

The special, in which customers could bet on the 'Exact Star Rating of the Highest Rated Match' will be settled with 'Exactly 4 Stars' winning at the 2/1 customers would have found it from Friday right up until Sunday night.

Finally, the Over/Under lines for all of the matches on Sunday's card will be graded. Here are the lines along with all of the results.

I was fortunate to have gone 2-0 at Extreme Rules after backing 'Over 2 Stars' in the Smackdown Women's Championship match and 'Over 2.25 Stars' in the mixed tag team match.

The former went over by quarter of a star while the mixed tag easily covered by one full star.
