Dolphins Said, The Results Read : Money In The Bank 2014 Edition

As has been a short tradition in the days following a World Wrestling Entertainment pay-per-view, I will spend today's post dissecting the 'spoiler' tweets sent out by Dolphins1925 and compare them to what the betting odds were.

I think the best approach this month is to go in match order.

The Usos vs The Wyatt Family

Dolphins tweeted: Wyatt Family will defeat The Usos.

Result: Incorrect. The Usos retained their WWE Tag Team Championships

The Odds: Once again, Dolphins and/or his source went with the betting favourites. The Wyatts walked into the bout at -530 (10/53 UK).

Paige vs Naomi

Dolphins tweeted: Paige will defeat Naomi

Result: Correct.

The Odds: Paige was the favourite with a price of -1200 (1/12 UK).

Adam Rose vs Damien Sandow

Dolphins tweeted : No 'spoiler' for this match

Result : Adam Rose won

The Odds : This was a late addition to the card, so there wasn't a market market open for it.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Dolphins tweeted : Seth Rollins wins Contract Ladder Match

Result : Seth Rollins did indeed win the contract

The Odds : Rollins was another favourite. At the time of Dolphins' tweet, the former member of The Shield was -1580. By match time he was -1500 (1/15 UK).

Goldust/Stardust vs Rybaxel

Dolphins tweeted : Goldust & Stardust will defeat Rybaxel

Result: The Rhodes Brothers were victorious

The Odds : Was an easy pick. The winners were -4500 (1/45 UK) going in to their match.

Rusev vs Big E

Dolphins tweeted : Rusev will defeat Big E

Result : Rusev did defeat Big E

The Odds : Rusev, as you would expect, was heavily favoured to win. His odds at match time were -2600 (1/26 UK)

Layla vs Summer Rae

Dolphins tweeted : Summer Rae will defeat Layla

Result : Layla defeated Summer Rae.

The Odds : Dolphins went with the favourite and came up short. At the time of the tweet, Summer Rae was -1500. The same price she had been for all of the day. As the show was going on, her price went to -530 meaning people had started to back Layla. Her odds went from +700 to +350 (7/2 UK).

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match

Dolphins tweeted : Kane wins Champ Ladder Match

Result : John Cena won Champ Ladder Match

The Odds : Kane was a favourite, from a betting perspective, for the late round of betting in the hours leading up to the show. With that knowledge, it was clear who Dolphins would go with. At the time of the tweet, Kane was priced at -460 but did start to drift as the pay-per-view was going on. Before the bell sounded to start the match, he was -280 (5/14 UK).  In the same period, John Cena was backed from +280 to +170 indicating that the last minute money was going where it should be. However, it wasn't enough to make him the favourite.

That's three incorrect 'spoilers'. All favourites in the betting. If anyone is to argue a case for Dolphins1925, they'll have a hard time against the above.
