Cena -105, Owens -135

The back-and-forth betting action for the John Cena versus Kevin Owens Battleground 2015 bout continues to make for intriguing reading on the betting board at 5Dimes.com.

When I last recorded the odds yesterday night, the US Champion - Cena - was an outsider with a price of +120. His opponent was favoured with a line of -160.  Since that time, the titleholder's odds have shortened leaving him now at -105 with Owens getting the ever so slight nod at -135.

It could be suggested that Cena is getting the attention of the betting public because of the knowledge that Kevin Owens will wrestle Finn Balor for the NXT title in the NXT Takeover show from Brooklyn on August 22nd.

The bettors may be staking on the US Championship remaining with its current holder for the time being as the match on the eve of SummerSlam will more than likely see Owens losing to Balor once again.

The original idea was to have Owens move up to the WWE roster on a permanent basis once he dropped the NXT Title to Balor. The August rematch now means he'll have to be on the NXT show for at least another month or so. This could also be interesting as the upcoming tapings will have to feature the challenger. If he wins the US Championship on Sunday, the episodes of NXT taped over the next few days will have him sans the title so the company will have to find a way to cover this up to keep from showing its hand.

This is, of course, if he does end up with the US belt on Sunday.
