Kevin Owens is now a favourite to win the US Championship match against John Cena at Battleground on July 19th.
The 5Dimes Sportsbook has been accepting wagers on the WWE's next PPV since June 24th and opened with the challenger as a +120 outsider.
I have been tracking all the Battleground 2015 markets on the sportsbook's website and noted yesterday that Owens was available at +105. I speculated that this was due to him dropping the NXT Title to Finn Balor on WWE's recent Beast in the East show from Tokyo, Japan. Having Owens freed up of the NXT strap now means his segue onto the main WWE roster is now complete.
It also frees up his chances of being awarded the US Championship.
As of this morning, he's -160 with the present titleholder, John Cena, out at +120.
Wrestling fans saw Owens back out of a US Open Challenge against Cena on last night's episode of WWE Raw. This reverse psychology of booking might have led some to punt on Owens winning the strap in less than a fortnight.
In other odds changes since last night's episode of Raw, Seth Rollins and The New Day appear to have been backed.
Rollins' price has dipped slightly from +155 to +150 with WWE World Heavyweight Championship challenger- Brock Lesnar's odds improving a tad from -195 to -190.
The WWE World Tag Team Championship challengers have descended from +140 to +120 while The Prime Time Players remain favourite at -160. They had been -180.
Odds correct as of 10:15am BST. The latest prices can be found under 'Other Sports' on the betting board at 5Dimes.com.
