The Paddy Power Sportsbook has published SummerSlam 2015 Appearance prop markets where customers can wager on certain wrestlers making an in-ring appearance on Sunday night.
From the bottom of the board, the first name is Kurt Angle.
The 'Yes' has been written up as a 13/2 shot. The 'No' is 1/16.
This isn't going to happen at all for so many reasons. The main one being he's still contracted to TNA.
The other two names on the board are ones that have a far stronger chance of happening.
Firsly, Kane.
The Undertaker's brother hasn't been seen on television since the Monday when Brock Lesnar broke his ankle with steel steps. He's 7/4 to make an in-ring appearance at any point in the evening. Could he be involved in the John Cena versus Seth Rollins finish? What about the main event?
A 'No, Kane will not make an in-ring appearance' bet, if it's successful, will pay out at odds of 4/11.
The other wrestler written up for punters to bet on is Sting.
Both 'Yes' and 'No' on him making his way into the ring on Sunday night are 5/6 and I am strongly leaning on the 'Yes'.
He was in the original plans for SummerSlam, but these were scrapped. This is just speculation on my part, but I think the reason why he was cut from the initial idea was so the company could have him show up at SummerSlam as a surprise and then have him wrestle at Night of Champions a month later.
I predict he'll assist Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose and it'll lead to some sort of trios match in September.
Remember, the trick is to keep subscribers locked in to the WWE Network for not only the big events, but the minor ones. A Sting match on the next PPV might be a decent hook to keep a subscription active.
A similar tactic was executed last year when WWE had Brock Lesnar defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena on the September PPV.
If you'd like to bet on any of these markets, you can find them under 'Appearance' on Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page.

Taking bets on Rock and Austin too now... surely Austin won't appear? Austin 4/7 yes and 5/4 no
ReplyDeleteI doubt Austin will appear. Wouldn't be surprised if The Rock does, though.
