Brock Lesnar Now Odds-On To Win The 2016 Royal Rumble

Brock Lesnar is now an odds-on favourite to win the upcoming WWE Royal Rumble in the betting market that is available at bwin.com.

'The Beast' has been available ever since the oddsmakers opened a book on the battle royal earlier this year.

He was originally given odds of 4/1 in late May. After dropping to 3/1, they remained steady for most of the year (there were times when the market was unavailable).

Roman Reigns winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship may be a reason why the fans have backed him to win.

Many people are of the opinion that WrestleMania 32 will feature a rematch of last year's original main event. It saw Roman Reigns challenge Lesnar for the Championship only for 2014 Money in the Bank winner - Seth Rollins - to insert himself into the latter part of the match to win the title.

The upcoming WrestleMania will not feature a Money in the Bank cash-in as the 2015 winner, Sheamus, has already executed his contract.

This could very well be the way things are going. However, as of the time of writing, there are still numerous routes the WrestleMania championship match could take. Therefore, I have gone through the list of potential Royal Rumble winners that are, in my opinion, still in play to see where the best odds are.

Brock Lesnar

As noted, his odds have been dropping over at bwin. The reason why he is on my list of potential winners is written above. The best price you can currently find him is 11/10. They can be found at Betfair.com, WilliamHill.com and SkyBet.com.

Triple H

Triple H is the wrestler I have been backing the most over the past few weeks. I started betting on a Triple H Rumble win as soon as he started to try and get Roman Reigns to be his chosen champion. With The Rock and Seth Rollins now unavailable for Hunter to wrestle at WrestleMania, I had a feeling they were going to move towards a feud between he and Reigns. The closing angles at both Survivor Series and Tables, Ladders and Chairs has slightly strengthened my inkling. However, the Royal Rumble title match still being unannounced and the company possibly going to give away a big match for the debut of Smackdown on the USA Network in a week has planted seeds of doubt for the time being.
I have numerous bets on him at 50/1. Unfortunately, the best you can find him at now is 5/1 from Ladbrokes.com, WilliamHill.com, Unibet.com, 888Sport.com and 32Red.com.
If you think he will be in the title match at WrestleMania, you could also back him at 6/1 over at Paddy Power's Special WrestleMania market.

Roman Reigns

Yes, he's still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as of the time of publishing. I am still noting his price until it's clear that he will still be the titleholder on the night of the Royal Rumble.
The 14/1 from Paddy Power's WWE Betting Page is the best price out there.

Kevin Owens

There have been rumours that he will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. These appear to have died down as of late mainly due to the speculation that Bill Goldberg will face Lesnar in April. For what it's worth, a 'Goldberg to wrestle at WrestleMania' story occasionally tends to do the rounds around this time of year.
Back to Owens - if you're looking for value, bwin.com has him at 8/1.

John Cena

This is another I have been high on. One of the original plans for WrestleMania was for Roman Reigns to wrestle John Cena for the Championship in a passing of the torch kind of deal. All plans for WrestleMania were put on hold following Seth Rollins' injury. However, the plan was for Reigns to defeat Rollins for the title at the Survivor Series. Now that Reigns has regained the championship, the company is back to the point it had intended so - if the plan was for John Cena to win the Royal Rumble - that too could be back on the table.
The valuable price out there for a Cena Rumble win is 10/1 from bwin.com.

Dean Ambrose

I'm not so high on this one being a winner, but the story of Ambrose winning the Royal Rumble to take on his friend for the Championship at WrestleMania writes itself. Therefore, I'm counting him as still in the hunt.
The best price is 10/1 also from bwin.com.

The Undertaker

A longshot, but Dave Meltzer has thrown his name out there as a very slight possibility in a recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. That's good enough for me!
I had backed an Undertaker to win the Royal Rumble earlier this year. Back then, he was 25/1 with Paddy Power. You can now back him at an even better 40/1 over at Ladbrokes.com.

And that's all for now. Tonight and especially next week's episodes of WWE TV should shed more light and potentially remove at least a couple of names from this list.
