Royal Rumble 2016 Prop Betting

If you're like me and enjoy have a side bet on professional wrestling events, you must be looking forward more to the Royal Rumble than any other show. The annual battle royal is perfect for these kinds of bets and the oddsmakers at almost every website with World Wrestling Entertainment markets have devised some interesting betting opportunities for their customers.

Every month, I go through a list of available proposition markets and share with you some ideas on how I think they'll play out. Unfortunately, there's far too many markets available out there for me to go through every single one. So, I'll share with you the markets and sportsbooks that have grabbed my attention during the Royal Rumble betting period.

5Dimes Sportsbook

The oddsmakers at 5Dimes.com have set up lines where customers can wager on things like; Rey Mysterio's longest time in the Rumble record being broken, there being a first time Rumble winner, a superstar to be eliminated within sixty seconds and so on.

There are a number of 5Dimes props that intrigue me. However, one that I am interested in is the 'Sami Zayn to be one of the 30 participants'. It opened as an underdog, but is now a -120 pick 'em. I've stated in previous posts that I have a feeling Zayn will be the competitor who eliminates Kevin Owens (if Owens is in the match).

The customers betting on Zayn to be in the match indicates that I'm not the only one who believes he'll show up tomorrow night.

Sky Bet

SkyBet.com has a 'Request a Bet' special where the traders are adding suggestions. As of the time of writing, there are thirteen selections available. They range from 'Roman Reigns to eliminate 5 or more' at 4/11 to 'Ambrose and Reigns to be the final two in the Rumble and Ambrose to win' at 20/1.

If I had a pound and was forced to bet, I'd put it on 'Triple H to win the Royal Rumble and eliminate a maximum of 2 people'. The odds for this are 6/4.

You can view them on Sky Bet's Wrestling Betting Page.

Ladbrokes

The traders at Ladbrokes.com have written up a handful of proposition markets for tomorrow. I've already shared with you the bets I have placed on their 'Entry Number Of Winner'.

Paddy Power

The oddsmakers at PaddyPower.com have been very busy thinking up some cool Royal Rumble markets. They have:
- Final 4 betting
- Best finishing position
- Double Chance (For example, if you think it'll be either Roman Reigns or HHH winning, you could back them here and win if one of them is victorious)
- 1st participant to enter (this isn't the first participant in the match as we know it'll be Roman Reigns. This market allows you to bet on which of a group of names is the first to enter. For example, you can wager on which member of The Wyatt Family is the first wrestler to enter the Rumble.)
- Most eliminations

One of the options I like is to take Sheamus to have the highest finishing position out of the League of Nations wrestlers. He's 7/5.

You can view Paddy Power's Rumble odds on Paddy Power's Wrestling Betting Page.

32Red Sportsbook

The sportsbook at 32Red.com has been just as busy as Paddy Power when it comes to Royal Rumble prop bets. There's a HUGE menu of options available to customers (the same markets are available at Unibet.com and 888Sport.com).

You can bet on a lot of things like any of the Rumble records being broken, the entry number of the winner and so on. There are a lot of Brock Lesnar specials available under 'Suplex City' they are:

- Total Number Of Suplexes Delivered By Brock Lesnar In The Match (line is 9.5)
- Total Number Of Suplexes Delivered By Brock Lesnar During The Event (line is 11.5)
- Total Number Of Different Participants At Least Once By Lesnar (line is 5.5)
- Vince McMahon To Be Suplexed By Brock Lesnar
- Paul Heyman To Be Suplexed By Brock Lesnar
- A Yes/No Long List Of Wrestlers To Be Suplexed By Brock Lesnar

Trust me when I state that there is a whole lot more on offer from this sportsbook.

As for my recommended play: I published a post earlier with an idea. The odds might not be as appealing now, though.

32Red's WWE odds can be found under WWE on the sportsbook menu at 32Red.com.

Betfair

The Betfair Sportsbook is my favourite bookmaker when it comes to prop betting on WWE events. The traders never fail to have something up each and every month.

There are at least fifteen markets available to bet on. These range from the regular 'A referee to be knocked down in any match?' right up to 'Roman Reigns to break the longest survival time and most eliminations record'. This option opened at 16/1 and has been backed down to 10/1 so fans have high hopes that Reigns will break records tomorrow night.

I like looking at Betfair's appearance markets each month. For this weekend's show, the firm has been accepting wagers on outside chances being involved in the battle royal. For the past few weeks, I have been trumpeting the chance of 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan showing up. I backed him when he was 50/1 - he's still available with Betfair at 10/1.

And if I may be so bold - another name I would like to throw out is The Godfather who is the current favourite with a price of 4/5. He's rumoured to be one of the inductees at the upcoming 2016 Hall of Fame ceremony, so this match is an ideal opportunity to reacquaint him with the WWE audience.

The only drawback with Duggan and The Godfather bets is the fact that both have been used in the surprise entry spots in previous editions of the battle royal.

Betfair's Rumble markets are found in the 'Special Bets' section of the Betfair Sportsbook website.

Good luck with all of your bets tomorrow. Don't forget to have them all printed off or written down and then have them in hand during the match. It's fun to have them in front of you as the action unfolds.
