The bwin Sportsbook has added three new SummerSlam match markets to its websites. They are: Sasha Banks .vs. Charlotte for the WWE Women's Championship, Dean Ambrose versus Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Title and Seth Rollins .vs. Finn Balor for the WWE Universal Championship.
The women's match hasn't been confirmed yet, but it's almost a given that this will be on the show. The new champ is a 2/5 favourite to retain with a win over Charlotte. A successful wager on the former titleholder will pay out at 7/4.
Dean Ambrose is 1/4 to go over in the WWE World Title fixture. The number one contender - Dolph Ziggler - is 13/5.
Seth Rollins and Finn Balor will square off on the pay-per-view to determine the first winner of the newly-created WWE Universal Championship. Former WWE Champion, Seth Rollins, is the favourite to win as he's 9/25. Balor is out at 47/25.
I've been wondering who should win this ever since I watched Raw on Tuesday morning. On one hand, I think the right course is to just go with Balor as his first week on the main roster was a home run. Then - on the other - I have a feeling they'll end up with the babyface being cheated to set up him chasing the title.
As you've probably guessed with me arguing both sides, I've yet to place a bet on the match. In fact, there's only one match I have bet on already and that's the Brock Lesnar versus Randy Orton market that has been available to bwin customers since July 19th.
I think the right option to bet on in this market is Randy Orton.
Brock Lesnar has brought some negative publicity to WWE ever since he failed a couple of tests while preparing for his UFC return. I think one way of wiping away this sort of coverage will be to have him lose in his first night back.
But there's more to this thought.
Another thing that making me side with The Viper is the fact that Orton is one of the top stars on the Smackdown roster. With John Cena's house show schedule now limited, the company will have to keep their full-timer strong. One way to do this is to have him go over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Earlier today, the market was showing Brock Lesnar at 1/4 and Orton at 13/5. The odds are now back to how they opened with Lesnar 2/5 and Randy Orton 7/4.
