Firstly, the market is available from the Kambi Oddsmakers. Here are the odds:

In a post published when these markets went up weeks ago, I had a feeling the match would end up in a non-finish or draw. At that point, I placed a wager on 'Any other method' over 'Pinfall' or 'Submission'.
I have now sort of moved slightly away from that idea and have now arrived at the 'Submission' option.
One idea that I threw out there earlier this week is that I believe that there may be some sort of interference within the match that will result in Goldberg's wife and son being put at risk (I suggested Rusev and Lana) and they would force Goldberg to submit in order to save his family.
My reasoning behind this idea is that it would give Lesnar the win, allow Goldberg to lose with a good excuse and set up a Goldberg versus Rusev match at a later point. This all, obviously depended on Goldberg continuing his renaissance with pro wrestling.
Granted, the idea is quite out there. However, I have now thought up another idea that just might work out to have Goldberg lose with dignity. I can thank the person who devised the rules of the market for the inspiration.
The sentence that struck a chord with me is the one that reads 'Submission includes 'passing out'.
I can absolutely see this sort of finish in tonight's match. Whenever the company wants to give a person a win, and sort of protect the other guy, they have gone to this playbook before. The most obvious example I can use is the Steve Austin versus Bret Hart match from WrestleMania 13 where Austin refused to give up. He eventually passed out. Hart was victor by submission.
Goldberg can be put into a submission move, refuse to give up, but then pass out forcing the referee to call Brock Lesnar the victor.
It's a speculative punt, so it goes without saying that it's not a guaranteed winner.
As mentioned above, the market can be found across all of the Kambi Websites. The image I used above is from the sportsbook at MrGreen.com.
Unless Lesnar is wrapping Goldberg up like a pretzel in a BrockLock i cant imagine what other submission Brock could do to make Goldberg pass out..
ReplyDeleteKimura usually ends in tap out or snapped arm (or break the hold)
Like Taker vs Lesnar at Summerslam)
