Comment Bag : 23 December 2016

This was left by Jordan in the most recent post.

So, next week on Smackdown -  after AJ Styles wins the triple threat match - is he going to get a mic, ask for better competition and then The Undertaker's music hits?

My reply:

I doubt it. And here's why: John Cena is returning next week, so he'll either announce that he's in the Royal Rumble match or they'll set up AJ Styles versus John Cena for January 29th.

To turn this back to wrestling betting  - if it's the latter, The Undertaker's 20/1 on Ladbrokes' Royal Rumble page will instantly come into play.

By the way (and to turn it back to fantasy booking!), if Undertaker does show up next week or any week leading to the Royal Rumble, I wouldn't be surprised if it's alongside Kane to set up a tag match against The Wyatt Family.

  1. I now think that Jericho could be in cage after KO match (during RR match). So he will be above the others and at n.30 they will anounce it is Jericho, and he will enter the match outside cage

    3. I like the concept here. It would be foolish for a heel not to use the cage as an escape route. Maybe Jericho enters no.1 & Goldberg is no 2 & thats when he motions for the cage to be lowered so he can escape for a bit. You could have KO at the lever. Throughout the match, you could have Jericho motion for the cage to be lowered when things are looking good for him only for another monster to enter & for him to ascend into the rafters again. You could finish the match w/Rollins & Jericho. Have Reigns attack KO backstage & gain control of the lever. Rollins batters Jericho until HHH interferes & causes the distraction that Jericho needs to sneak up on Rollins to dump him out. For me, Rollins absolutely HAS to be the last guy eliminated so there is major heat on HHH who will have cost him the title/title shot twice now. It also allows Jericho to win as a cowardly comedy heel & gradually turn face in the following weeks leading to him challenging KO at Mania.

  4. seems highly unlikely they would have Jericho hanging in the cage for ~1½ hours

  5. I was also thinking if the Cena- Taker match could somehow end up as a triple threat with AJ. Something along the lines of AJ dropping title to Cena at Rumble, Taker winning the rumble match and AJ getting screwed of his title rematch, maybe even by Taker's interference, ending up with him included into the WM33 match. That would also ease Taker's workload in the Mania match.
(probably as far-fetched as Jericho being caged for the duration of the rumble match)

    1. The plan for WrestleMania 32 was Cena .vs. Undertaker and I think they're determined to do it this time around.

    2. Do you think there will be any stipulations other than the possible title on the line?

    3. Two top draws in one match is enough, imo.

  6. I personally think Cena will announce himself into the Rumble (after a heated debate about Cena not deserving to just return to WWE and get a title shot)
