In the most recent post, I noted that 5Dimes punters had backed Orton from +275 into +200 through today. Now, within an hour, he has been backed into -120.

Still dont think its Orton
ReplyDeleteThis is funny. He isn't even going to be one of the final four. Guaranteed, he is either eliminated by Luke Harper or Bray Wyatt to set up a Mania match. These numbers are clearly just people betting on rumors.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, doesn't Taker sort of "have to" win? I mean, if he is facing Reigns at Mania for the strap, it makes the most sense for him to win the Rumble to get the shot. An Orton/Wyatt mania match, even for the title doesn't need the Rumble. Wyatt can win at the Chamber PPV and Orton can challenge at Mania- without a Rumble win. But to get Taker to face Reigns, since he isn't around very much, it would make more sense to have him earn that shot winning the RR.
ReplyDeleteI don't even see why this is even a question. It has to be Taker.
No guarantee Taker .vs. Reigns is for the Universal Title just yet, but I like your thinking.
DeleteTrue. There are a few ? on that front...
Deletea. If it is for the title and Taker wins, will he be around enough to defend it?
b. If it isn't for the title, then I guess a Rumble win isn't such a big deal.
But I still think they won't have anyone actually eliminate Taker because that person would automatically be the one Taker would want to get revenge on. For example, say Braun eliminates Taker- it would make sense for Taker/Braun at Mania but we know they have other plans for Braun.
So, I don't think they would have anyone actually eliminate Taker unless they planned on that person being his opponent. Between that reasoning and what I said before regarding Reigns, I'm confident this is Takers to lose.
If, as the early betting suggests, Owens goes over Reigns, then maybe Reigns gets another chance and goes in the rumble. He could be the one to eliminate Taker, sparking a feud that isn't for the title?
DeleteI know I'm moving into fantasy booking territory, but with the unpredictability surrounding the rumble anything could happen!
Also looks like it could be Owens .vs. Goldberg at Fast Lane, if we're going all-in with the fantasy booking.
