The news does not come as a surprise considering Orton's name was given out as a potential winner in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter due to word going around that Orton could win the Royal Rumble and then Bray Wyatt is victorious in the Elimination Chamber a fortnight later to set up the World Championship bout at WrestleMania 33.
At the start of the day, the best price you could get for 'The Viper' was 5/1 with Betfair.com. This has now been cut into 2s.
The top price, as of the time of posting, is 7/2. It can be found over at BoyleSports.com, SportingBet.com and SkyBet.com.
But at 5dimes he is still +425
ReplyDeleteAlso i dont think Bray can win Elimination Chamber, because he is always loze. And if Randy win Rumble and the help Bray at Chamber make no sense
I'm starting to wonder if this will affect the outcome of the wwe championship match on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteReally? Orton winning the rumble? Would you rank him high on your list? Cause I just can't see it myself
ReplyDeleteI had backed him at 20/1 sometime last year because I predicted Orton vs Styles for Mania, but didn't think he or Wyatt would end up in the title picture with all the Undertaker/Cena/Styles talk. Then Taker/Cena turned to Joe/Cena and I figured that would be the main event.
DeleteWho do you think Taker is fighting at Mania if it isn't Cena and bearing in mind he likely only has 2 mania matches left in him maximum? Strowman? Balor? Styles?
ReplyDeleteI can't escape thought that they've wanted to do Cena vs Taker for so many years, including last year, that they can't miss the opportunity this year with time running out..
Been thinking it's Undertaker vs Reigns since Monday/Tuesday morning.
DeleteIf not that - Balor.
DeleteIt has to be somebody from Raw.
Deletewhy does it have to be someone from RAW? He said he shows up where he wants.
DeleteI think the post rumble storyline will be Rumble winner Taker picking his mania opponent from either RAW (Reigns) or Smackdown (Cena), eventually picking Cena.
My theory is Vince thought the crowd chanting for Taker during Cena's return promo made Rumble outcome too predictable, so temporarily moved Taker to RAW & fed a story to Meltzer that Cena / Taker was off and it has worked. Lets see sunday! I hope so as have a load of money riding on Taker! I guess if you are right, Taker could win rumble to set up Reigns vs Taker too.
The Undertaker saying about going where he likes may have simply been an explanation/excuse as to why he was on Raw after sticking up for Smackdown ahead of the Survivor Series.
DeleteIt has to be somebody from Raw because the reports I've read have indicated that it will be someone from that brand. If it was going to be somebody from Smackdown, he would have been brought back to that show in the build to the Rumble, imo.
I moved on from hoping it's Taker .vs. Cena.
I'd like Taker to win the Rumble as it's the most profitable result for me, but it isn't looking likely at this stage.
Orton? this guy is past water,I have to admit I never liked him but whats the point of giving him the Rumble and a chance for title ,everyone would be dissapointed if this happens
ReplyDeleteSeriously Orton?? wow
Kevin Nguyen replied with this. It wouldn't publish properly:
DeleteI feel the same. Wwe are going backwards if they go with him to win the rumble.Orton and Wyatt can feud without the title.
I disagree on Orton being past water. He is still one of WWE's best wrestlers (not just my opinion, many current and past superstars have said it), can still carry a feud, is still hot with fans, and would add another great match to Mania. Think of it this way- if everyone else is involved in high profile feuds for the big show, having Orton and Wyatt potentially wrestle for the title is a smart move as it adds another big match to the card.
DeleteAll that being said, I still think they are going to go with either Balor (the return factor) or Braun (Vince's love) at the end of the day.
I cant believe it....wont believe it. Talk about being an underwhelming title match at mania!
ReplyDeleteAlso favourites change all the time, i bet vince still doesn't know for sure.
