Paddy Power Publishes Royal Rumble 2017 Specials

Paddy Power has published a number of Royal Rumble specials over at PaddyPower.com.

As of the time of the time of posting, the company is accepting wagers on the following:

Here are my thoughts:

The first option might appeal to those who believe The Undertaker will win the Royal Rumble and then go on to face - and defeat - whoever the WWE World Champion is at WrestleMania. It's worth noting the reports that Vince McMahon still hasn't decided on an Undertaker versus John Cena match at Mania and has been contemplating The Undertaker versus Roman Reigns. In one of the posts I published yesterday, I pointed out that WWE purposely made a point of The Undertaker being free to roam between Raw and Smackdown and this opens up either option if Taker wins the Royal Rumble and Cena and/or Reigns are titleholders.

I think Sami Zayn eliminating Brock Lesnar is unlikely. In my opinion, it has to be Goldberg if anyone is going to do it. (This has now been corrected to Sami Zayn eliminating Braun Strowman. Read about it IN THIS POST)

Triple H to enter at number 30. At 2/1, it sort of is a compelling price if you believe he is going to be a participant. They could play into the fact that he came out at thirty in 2016 and won. However, I don't think he'll be in the match this year. I'm guessing he'll cause distraction to Seth Rollins.

I don't like the final four option of Undertaker, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho. Firstly, I think it's too heavy for Raw (yes, I know, Undertaker is a floater!). I expect there'll be someone from Smackdown (maybe Baron Corbin) in the mix near the end.

Daniel Bryan isn't wrestling for WWE, so the 'Daniel Bryan to enter at #30' option is unlikely. The same goes for CM Punk. I don't believe he'll return to WWE for quite some time if ever.

The market can be found under 'Royal Rumble Special' on the WWE Betting Page over on the Paddy Power website.
