Randy Orton Moves Into -990

Randy Orton has now moved into -990 to win tonight's Royal Rumble.

In a post published less than half an hour ago, I mentioned that 'The Viper' had been backed from -270 into -350. The price has evidently continued to fall.

As a result of this move, 'The Field' has risen from +250 to +530.

Prices from 5Dimes.com as of 8:54am GMT.

  1. This is NOT smart money, so I hope people don't go crazy betting because they will end up losing. This is folks backing rumors that have no basis in reality.

I fully expect either Jericho, Braun, Taker, or Balor/Joe to win this thing and I expect one of them to see their prices fall dramatically later today and that will be smart money.

    1. I'm sorry Matt, but the moves are across the board and that's one of the tells indicating that it is.

  2. Isn't it way too early for smart money though, David? Here in my neck of the woods, it is is only 450 or so in the morning- a good 14 hours before the PPV. Doesn't smart money usually come in with just a few hours before the event starts? I just see these shifts as punters going with what the trends have been over the last 24 hours.

    1. Here's how it has gone down the last few months:

      Roadblock: Sun 5:30pm EST
      TLC: Sat 3:30am EST
Survivor Series: Sunday 2 hrs before show but peculiar betting when odds were 1st published on the Saturday evening (late afternoon US).
Hell in a Cell: Early Evening US on the Friday

I could go on. The bottom line is it has been erratic.
