How Kambi's Rumble 2017 Entry Order Props Were Settled

In an effort to keep the blog running until Elimination Chamber betting odds are published, I've decided to have a look through another Royal Rumble market that I covered over a week ago.

The market I'm looking at is the 'Entry Order' over/under that I wrote about on both the Saturday and Sunday of Royal Rumble weekend. It was a prop where customers could predict whether certain wrestlers entered the battle royal at a higher or lower position than the line that the bookmaker set.

Here are the options that were available.

Brock Lesnar
The oddsmaker set the line at 15.5 with the over or under priced up at 17/20 when the market was published. The options were still 17/20 the next day. I reluctantly picked the under because I thought the best story that would have played out within the match was for Lesnar to enter the match ahead of Bill Goldberg to lead up to the latter's arrival. What actually happened was Lesnar did indeed come out first. He came in 26th position - killing the bet as it went under - and then his nemesis arrived shortly afterwards.

Bill Goldberg
Just like with Brock Lesnar, the oddsmakers set the line at 15.5 and both the over and the under options were 17/20 on the Saturday and the Sunday when I revisited the market. As Goldberg was part of my 'Lesnar in first before Goldberg arrives' idea, I thought the over was the play. It was a correct call. Goldber came in at twenty-eight, only two places behind Lesnar. In my opinion, they should have had Lesnar in a little earlier even if it wasn't under 15.5. Having the two wrestlers this close together was too short a build.

Braun Strowman
The line was set at 13.5 with the over at 18/25 and the under at EVENS. I recommended the under because I thought it was perfect for Strowman to come in early as it would allow for him to end up being the wrestler that eliminates the most people from the match. This turned to be an accurate call as he entered in seventh place.

The Undertaker
The bookies went high with The Phenom as they set the bar at 27.5. The over was EVENS and the under was 18/25. I guessed he would be a late arrival. He was in the penultimate place.

Randy Orton
This was a killer of a loss or a magnificent win depending on how you bet. The bookies had put Orton's position at 22.5 with the over at 3/4 and the under being offered at 19/20. I liked the under and it appeared other punters did as well because it was 18/25 the following day (the over had increased to even money). The Viper was the twenty-third spot making it a half-point between winning or losing.
