Earlier today, I went through all of Paddy Power's 'WrestleMania Champion Specials' markets and made a few notes. I was unable to get anything published this morning. So, here goes.
WWE Universal Championship
I haven't noticed any changes here. Brock Lesnar is still a 1/10 favourite to leave Orlando with the WWE Universal Championship. His WrestleMania opponent - Bill Goldberg - is 6/4.
Current champ, Kevin Owens, is 9/2 and his potential Mania dance partner, Chris Jericho, remains 6/1.
WWE Championship
This is the second of three markets where the pricing is the same as my most recent visit. Randy Orton is 2/5 to be holding the strap at the close of Mania. The current titleholder, Bray Wyatt, is second-favourite at 6/4. For what it's worth, Luke Harper is in third at 5/1.
WWE Raw Tag Team Championship
The Raw tag champs - Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson - remain 4/11 favourites in this market. Their upcoming Fast Lane opponents, Enzo and Cass, are in second at 6/4.
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
American Alpha is 1/2. The team opened at this number yesterday. There appears to have been interest in The Revival selection as it has moved in from 8/1 to 6/1.
The Usos have gone from 6/5 to 5/4.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Austin Aries' price has shortened in this market. It moved from 4/6 into 8/13. The current titleholder, Neville, has moved out from EVENS to 11/10.
There has been a new name added in Akira Tozawa. He's 8/1.
WWE US Championship
Kevin Owens' price has moved in from 8/13 to 1/2 while Chris Jericho has drifted out from EVENS to 11/10.
Other notable moves have seen Samoa Joe drop from 5/1 to 4/1 and Finn Balor from 14/1 to 12/1.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose, stays at 10/11 while Baron Corbin's price continues to descend. It's now at 8/15 from 4/7.
Another notable drop has seen Luke Harper come in from 16/1. He's now 10/1.
WWE Raw Women's Championhip
There has been one change since I last recorded the prices in this market three days ago. Charlotte has been increased from 10/11 to EVENS.
The current champ - Bayley - is still 1/2.
WWE Smackdown Women's Championship
With Naomi having to give up the Smackdown Women's Championship, there's a lot going on in this market.
The new champ, Alexa Bliss, has moved from 2/1 to 11/8 in a day, Mickie James has fallen from 5/2 to 2/1 and Tamina has moved in from 20s to 12/1 today.
In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote the following about the title situation: 'With Nikki busy with Maryse, that would seem to include going back to Lynch .vs. Bliss for the title program unless they shoot Tamina back into it next week'.
As I've written in previous WrestleMania posts, I have not heard or read anything about a Smackdown Women's Championship match for WrestleMania, so am locked into believing it won't be defended on the card. However, the Naomi situation may have changed this plan.
Value for Neville?
ReplyDeleteI think it's too early for him to drop the strap. If he's going one-on-one with Aries, he should lose. However, if it's a multi-person match, someone else could take the fall instead of Aries.
DeleteIt depends on what the match is.
Deletecould see a cruiserweight champ ladder match, replacing the recent IC belt option
