One Week Later: Betfair's WrestleMania 33 Odds

It has been a week since the oddsmakers at Betfair.com published match markets for this year's WrestleMania so - with seven days of betting - I thought I thought I'd look through the current odds to see who the punters are backing.

Brock Lesnar .vs. Bill Goldberg
This is easy. The market is still showing the same odds from day one. Brock Lesnar is 1/14 to defeat the Universal Champion. A winning bet on Bill Goldberg will pay out at odds of 11/2.

Raw Women's Championship
I've visited this market a number of times through the week. It opened under the assumption that the title match would be a triple threat, but Nia Jax was installed a day later. Bayley's odds went from 1/3 to 1/4 between Tuesday and Thursday, but the current edge seems to be going the way of Sasha Banks as her price has dipped into 3/1 from 4s since Thursday.

Raw Tag Team Championship
This opened with Gallows and Anderson as 8/11 favourites, Enzo and Cass were 15/8 while Sheamus and Cesaro were 2/1. The edge has gone the way of Enzo and Cass. They were 7/4 on the 23rd and now 7/5.

WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton went from 1/4 to 1/7 in the first three days. The edge then went to Bray Wyatt as he has fallen from 10/3 to 12/5 since Thursday. Orton has drifted back out to 1/4.

US Championship
This started with Chris Jericho dropping from 15/8 to 13/8 and Owens moving out from 1/3 to 2/5. The customers have now moved in on Owens as his price has shortened to 1/4.

Seth Rollins .vs. HHH
The punters have backed Rollins. He has moved in from 3/10 to 1/6 while Triple H has jumped up to 3/1 from 2/1.

Roman Reigns .vs. The Undertaker
This has been all Reigns. He was initially 8/13, was 4/11 on Thursday and is now 1/4.

Mixed Tag Team Match
The team of John Cena and Nikki Bella has been declining since day one. The team opened 1/2, moved to 4/11 and is now 1/7.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
The Cruiserweight Champion - Neville - and his challenger, Austin Aries, were both available at 5/6 each when the market went up. By Thursday, Nevlle had been cut to 1/2. He's now an slightly shorter 1/3.

AJ Styles .vs. Shane McMahon
All AJ Styles here as well. He went from 1/3 to 3/10 in the first few days. His price has been cut further since then as he's now 1/9.

  1. Is this possibly the start of smart money or would it more likely be nearer the event.

    1. Too early to say and even then you still have to deal with McMahon changing his mind on one or two.

  2. I am not following WWE as close as I used to ,but Bayley,Club and Orton odds are too short ,I can't see why so much favoritism, just my 2 cents
