A Potential Problem/Issue On The Horizon

Earlier this evening, I was alerted to a Tweet that was sent from the Betfair Customer Services to a customer. The rep told the client that all appearance betting markets for WrestleMania 33 will be settled on the main show only.

This obviously raises an alarm as I am sure there are many of you who have backed some of the names in the appearance markets as far back as September when they were first installed.

I interjected myself into the discussion because I am fully aware that the company paid out on things that took place on the pre-show last year. I even defended the company when a player was attempting to get an Over/Under special regraded because it something happened on the pre-show that he felt shouldn't have counted.

I asked the rep using the Twitter handle when this rule was changed. I was told 'it was set when the new market was created'.

Just leaving this out there for now. I have a feeling there will be a lot of unhappy people on Monday morning if it goes the way I'm dreading.

  1. You're kidding me... They need to make this clearer surely?

    1. You know my Twitter handle, have a look.

Going to be a nightmare if this is right.

    2. It's going to be the whole 'spirit squad did appear in ring' again that we had with William Hill... Hopefully they do the right thing and pay out on pre show or the very least void bets

    3. Unless... They mean the new 'in ring appearence' market? Perhaps the 'live in house appearence' did include pre show. But still...it needs to say this. Its going to be a 2 hour pre show..

  2. Unless this was explicitly stated AT THE TIME YOU PLACED YOUR BET then you will be entitled to a full payout if your bet appears on the pre-show. They cannot subsequently amend rules for previous placed bets, IBAS would fully support this. I have a lot of experience in this area.

  3. I placed this bet on September 5th "Rhyno - Live In-House Appearances On The Night? (Must Be Seen At Ringside To Qualify)" It states nothing else but be at ringside on the night. Regardless if it's preshow or not - the entire event is Wrestlemania. They better not try some loophole shit
