The Money In The Bank 2017 Time Prop Post

Kambi published the rest of the Money in the Bank 2017 match markets this afternoon. Along with them are the 'Match Duration' props I like to have a look through every time there's a World Wrestling Entertainment show.

In this post, I'll go through all the propositions. I'll note the lines that have been set and their odds. I'll also share a couple of options that I like and a stat that I think is worth looking at if you're to bet on the duration of the men's Money in the Bank match.

Before I start, I think it's worth mentioning how these bets work to avoid any confusion. The time begins from the bell that is sounded to start the match. From there, the time runs until a second bell is struck in nearly every case this is the chime that is rung to signify the end of the match. The bell sounding before the ring announcer does his or her ring introductions DOES NOT start the match.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match
The lines that have been set for this match are '17:00 or more' at 4/5 or '16:59 or less' at 9/10. To be fair, I think the oddsmaker has put the right favourite up here as I strongly believe they're going to pull out all the stops in this match and it'll be the equivalent to men's Money in the Bank matches from the past. Seventeen seems spot on, but I like the chance of it being given a lot of time considering how the company is trying to bill it as being historic.

WWE Championship
This market is offering '16:30 or more' or '16:29 or less'. Both options were 17/20 when they went live. I've already backed under 17:59 elsewhere, so won't be placing a bet here. However, if I did, I'd go under here as well. The same reasons I used for the other market apply - I think this match will not be given as much time as the male ladder match and the last time Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton wrestled, they went fifteen minutes and forty-five seconds in the main event of WWE Backlash 2017.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
I think this market is spot on. The line has been set at 15:00 or more at 9/10 and the lesser option of below 14:59 is 4/5. So far, it's a five match show. I have a feeling this could go longer than fifteen minutes, but don't feel compelled to bet on it.

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship
Naomi versus Lana has been given '8:30 or more' at 9/10 or '8:29 or less' at 4/5. I like the under. The reason why is because a shorter match will hide Lana's in-ring limitations.

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match
I'm blinkered into believing that this match goes last instead of Orton .vs. Mahal. If it does, I think the over has a chance of winning. As of the time of writing, the line is set at 24:00. Twenty-four minutes or more is 17/20 and the '23:59 or less' is 17/20. I have concerns on it beating twenty-four.

Here's something I noticed when I was researching Dave Meltzer's Money in the Bank star ratings last week:

MITB Time History

In the table above, I've listed the times of all of the Money in the Bank ladder matches in history. The blue section contains the matches that took place on WrestleMania cards and the matches that appear in the cream section are the ladder matches that have taken place on the Money in the Bank themed pay-per-views that began in 2010.

The bad news is that only three matches in history have gone twenty-four minutes or more. The good news is that all three of these matches have taken place on a Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

History is telling me to take the under, but my instinct is telling me this could go over. Therefore, it's a pass.

Hopefully, this information will come in handy for those of you looking to bet on the match.

Selections I Like The Most
Naomi .vs. Lana to go 8:29 or less.
Women's Money in the Bank match to go over 17:00

All of these markets can be found on the sports and casino websites that appear ON THIS LIST. A few examples can be viewed below:

  2. I will be surprised if the womens title match lasts longer then 5 minutes. I am certain it will end quick with Lana getting a roll up pin pulling Naomi's shorts/tights (cheating).

If lana doesn't win, it just seems like a really pointless match.
