Samoa Joe Or Seth Rollins?

I have been asked by a few people who I think is going to end up winning tonight's main event by quite a few people this week.

My answer has switched from 'Seth Rollins makes the most sense, but I'd like it to be Joe' at the start of the week right up to this morning where - after the last few days of watching the odds - I'm hesitant to suggest one or the other.

If you've been following along, Samoa Joe was backed heavily on Thursday night. Then, yesterday afternoon, there was a flurry of wagers placed on Rollins.

I'm having an inner conflict because, despite the money coming in on Joe being around the time that smart money has been landing lately (it has been Fridays, but in this case Joe was backed on a Thursday) there was something that happened when Rollins' price moved down that made me sit up.

At the time when Rollins' price dropped yesterday, the odds for Dean Ambrose to win the Intercontinental Championship match also descended. It could be me looking too much into it, but I'm sure a lot of fans out there were expecting The Miz to win. So, that stuck me as peculiar and had me considering yesterday's wagers may end up overruling Friday (Miz went from 4/7 at the start of the day to 1/18 by nighttime).

Another thing I cannot seem to shake off is knowing that Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman were all lined up to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Post-WrestleMania TV has hinted this. There was no mention of Samoa Joe, but - once again - this could be me reading too much into it considering Strowman was expected to face Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. The company evidently had to run with a replacement.

It's worth noting that the company has been building Joe up with wins on Raw. This, however, comes at the same time that Seth Rollins has been on the end of significant defeats. If Rollins fails to win tonight, it'll be his third televised loss in a row. The conflict being, do I go with what I know and say it's Rollins because he's being booked for the big win or do I say Joe's going to win because it appears as though the company is heating him up for his match against Lesnar?  If Joe really is winning tonight, they have to do what they're doing with him.

I'm sorry if this is just me going back-and-forth, but I really think it's close at this point. I backed Rollins right from the start and was fortunate to catch Joe when he was 5/2 on Friday, so - if it's either guy - I'm going to be okay with it.

Not that this helps anyone asking the question at this point of the weekend.

  1. It's certainly a tough one.

I purely can't deny what's happened with the past two PPVs where early heavy money has been correct... But as the same time Rollins makes a lot of sense to win.

Another argument for Samoa Joe is that he is probably the most 'realistic' opponent for Lesnar without Strowman due to his size, speed and strength etc..

Keep an eye out on the odds today. I feel one of them will get very heavily bet.
