Cena's Odds Lowered During Smackdown

John Cena's odds to win tonight's match against Shinsuke Nakamura have lowered from +450 to +385 while Smackdown is in progress.

This is possibly due to AJ Styles versus Kevin Owens being announced as the US Championship match for SummerSlam.

The company had teased AJ Styles versus Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles versus John Cena on TV recently. It made sense for the loser of tonight's match between Cena and Nakamura to move on to the US Championship match.

The possible change of direction has evidently led to punters backing Cena now.

As it stands, Cena is +385. Nakamura is still a favourite, but he has drifted out from -750 to -570.

Odds from 5Dimes.

  1. Incredibly disappointed by the Styles announcement. Not only because that feud has been poor and should end, but because it makes a non-finish and triple threat more likely.

    1. What if the movie commitment means he can't be at SummerSlam?

    2. He's on all the advertising.

  3. I have a feeling it's still Cena vs Styles. Cena comes out next week and says he wants a US title shot and Shane books owens vs Cena where Cena wins and Owens angrily attacks Shane McMahon

    4. I am not changing my mind on Nakamura .vs. Mahal.
Cena could go up against Corbin, he could be moved to Raw or he could be filming now. Cena is now a tough call because I thought he would be against AJ.

    5. I have a feeling owens vs Styles will be like Styles vs Wyatt at wrestlemania where Shane mcmahon changes original match and that leads to owens attacking Shane

I can't see Cena not wrestling at Summerslam

    6. They just put a graphic up for AJ vs KO. I think that's it.

  6. I am wrong. It's Cena vs Corbin at Summerslam. Cena just gave AA to Corbin through the table on the network

  7. Thank the lord Dave was right, I really didnt want to see another multiman. Cena took a horrible bump on his head which they could play on now and let him do this movie (can't see anyone worthy now as an opponent at SS). The Owens Styles is just dumb but can easily see them doing Shane making a "Bad Call" which leads to their feud.

BTW - Did you hear when Tom Philips say "Slide it in" in the womens match... lol it had to be him.

    1. Having the fatal 4-way for the Universal helped my instinct, but it was also figuring that McMahon would want Cena's chase for history being in a one-on-one match and not a subplot in a multi-man.
I think the post-match angle points to Cena vs Baron Corbin.
Didn't hear the thing by Tom Phillips.

    2. Finding out Cena is booked for Raws post-SummerSlam also helped distance me from Jinder Mahal in a singles.

Was just good guesswork. Sometimes it's bad guesswork.

    3. It's got to be Cena vs Corbin now. Corbin won't let Cena get away with that - Corbin could perhaps be the one who puts Cena "out of commission" for his film role.

I knew Nakamura would do it!!!
