Baron Corbin Unsuccessfully Cashes In His MITB Briefcase

Baron Corbin failed to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on last night's episode of WWE Smackdown.

The 2017 winner of the men's ladder match took his opportunity for an immediate title shot against Jinder Mahal following the latter's bout against John Cena.

Mahal pinned him almost instantly.

I'll write a lot more about how the odds moved for all of the men's Money in the Bank betting specials at a later point, but wanted to add a few things.

I thought there was a good chance that the men's Money in the Bank cash-in would result in a loss this year. I figured that the execution of the women's contract resulting in a title change makes the most sense.

I did not see Jinder Mahal being the champion who Corbin cashed his contract in on. I think it was Dimitri, who comments on this blog, who was the only person I know of who thought there was a chance Corbin could cash in his title shot against Mahal. Apologies if it wasn't Dimitri, but I am almost sure it was him.

I didn't think the cash-in would occur at SummerSlam, but I also didn't think it would happen 'Before SummerSlam'.

There will be another post about this at a later point. Maybe as soon as this evening.
