Strowman Conquered Reigns

Last night's steel cage match victory for Braun Strowman against Roman Reigns concluded two betting markets where sports bettors could have had wagers on the person who would next get a decisive victory over Reigns in a singles match.

The aforementioned market was published in the latter part of July. The eventual winner, Braun Strowman, opened as a 4/1 shot while John Cena - who was due to start working on the Raw brand after SummerSlam, was installed as a 6/4 favourite.

Roman Reigns Conqueror Betting Odds July to October 2017

As you can see from the betting that occurred over the days the market was available to punters, a handful of wrestlers were backed in the first couple of days with Strowman's price being slashed from 4/1 into 5/4.

From there, Strowman stalled at 5/4 until the 7th of September when he was once again cut. This time dipping to even money. He then moved out to 6/4 on September 16th and closed at 7/4 by early October.

This wasn't the only market available to punters looking to bet on Reigns' next singles match loss by pinfall, submission or referee stoppage. A market where clients could bet on the time-frame of the loss was also installed.

Date Of Roman Reigns Loss Betting

There were three selections to choose from. They were 'Before WrestleMania 34', 'During WrestleMania 34' or an option that would have paid out at the conclusion of Mania as it would have covered the first day after the event or later.

As you can see in the table above, the 'Before WrestleMania' option opened at EVS, while the 'During' option was favourite. This is mainly because - at the time the market was priced up - there were reports that that the Mania main event might have changed to John Cena versus Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. This is why Cena opened as a favourite in the victor market.

The odds for 'Before Mania' were slashed across three different points. At its lowest, the selection was available at 1/4 in late September but was pushed back out to EVS by October 6th.

Now that the Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Shinsuke Nakamura markets have been settled, this leaves Conqueror odds for Brock Lesnar and Asuka. I'll look over and write about them when they're republished.
