Closing Favourites Go 6-1 At WWE TLC 2017

WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2017 saw closing favourites go 6-1 for the show.

The underdog selection that won its match was the team of Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann, who defeated Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick in the third match of the night.

5Dimes had Alexander and Swann at +270 shortly before the start of the match while Kambi had the duo at a slightly shorter 5/2 (+250 US).

Their opponents were -390 with the Costa Rican based sportsbook and 1/4 (-400 US) here in Europe.

It's safe to call this one an upset considering both sports betting firms had the winning team close as dogs.

In this morning's post where I noted the favourites as the pay-per-view was starting, I pointed out that the Cruiserweight Championship match market, which had been see-sawing all weekend, was at a -120 pick 'em. However, by match-time, Enzo Amore had shortened to -150 while the then champion, Kalisto, had drifted to +110.

Europe's book closed with the eventual winner at 1/14 (-1,400). Just like with the off-shore sportsbook, the market had its fluctuations as you can see by looking at some of the moves I recorded last night.

Enzo was a 1/4 favourite for all of Saturday and into early Saturday evening. He was slashed into 1/20 by 11pm and then - because Kalisto's price fell overseas - the money began to come in on the champion over here.

With Enzo Amore as an outsider, the smart money once again landed on the eventual victor as he fell from 4/1 into 1/14 between 11:56pm and the time of his match.

I plan to have more WWE betting posts published through the week. Keep checking back.
