Minnesota Now Betting Favourite To Host WrestleMania 36

In a post published yesterday evening, I mentioned that the oddsmakers from Kambi had priced up a market where customers can have a bet on where they think the location of WrestleMania 36 will be.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum opened as a 2/1 favourite. This is no longer the case.

As of the time of writing, Minnesota's US Bank Stadium is at the top of the board. It was cut from 5/2 into 2/1.

In the post, I noted that I had placed a speculative punt on Minnesota being the host. The reason why is because I have seen it named many times over the past couple of years whenever there has been speculation on a location ahead of any announcement.

As a result of Minnesota moving to favourite, the LA venue has moved to 5/2 joint second-favourite next to Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

While on the topic of a potential Florida Mania - I should mention is that I read an article over the weekend. It stated that Tampa is interested in bringing WrestleMania to Raymond James Stadium.

There is a huge however, though.

The article states that the proposal is for 2023 (WrestleMania 39), 2024 (WrestleMania 40) or 2025 (WrestleMania 41).

Not only that, but - according to the story - the city also has its eyes set on bidding for the 2022 or 2023 Royal Rumble.

It'll host the Super Bowl in 2021, so it kind of makes sense to see the city have WWE as a priority for post-2021, but I think it's far too early to be making bids on events many years in advance. It doesn't seem to be how WWE works based on recent history of announcing venues for the big shows.

Anyway, back off my rant, here's how the market has changed since yesterday evening.

WrestleMania 36 Venue Betting

Prices correct as of 5PM BST on May 7th 2018.

  1. Interesting. I can imagine Lesnar making his return match here after doing UFC again. A big home-coming pop crowd.
