A Rumble RequestABet That I've Backed

While browsing through Sky Bet's WWE markets this morning, I came across a new RequestABet special that took my fancy.

It's 28/1 for Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch to win their respective Royal Rumble matches.

I am not totally convinced that Rollins will win the men's Royal Rumble match, but he did throw in a line about Brock Lesnar a couple of weeks ago on Raw. That was enough to have him somewhere in my shortlist of potential Rumble winners.

As for Becky Lynch? Well, this week's report of her being Ronda Rousey's WrestleMania 35 opponent was enough to make me consider that part of the bet as very likely.

The price has now been taken down to 25/1.

Earlier this week, the bookies added the following:

AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair to win the Mens/Women's Royal Rumbles

and

The Miz and Asuka to win the Men's/Women's Royal Rumbles

The Styles/Flair selection is shorter than when I first came across it. It was 14/1 at the time and is now down to 8s.

I don't know about Styles winning the Rumble. He'll be getting rematches with Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship. Challenging whoever is holding the Universal Championship would mean he'd move over to Raw and I don't think WWE would have turned Daniel Bryan heel if the plan was to have the top babyface from Smackdown moving to the red brand. The news about Lynch also puts a question mark over Flair's chance of winning the women's battle royal.

As for the other selection - I can't rule The Miz out of winning the Rumble, but I find trouble seeing Asuka winning back-to-back Rumbles. This selection has drifted. I caught it at 66/1 a few days ago, but it's now up to 100/1.

Both selections tie-in, in a way, to the Mixed Match Challenge as Miz/Asuka and Styles/Flair are partners in WWE's tag team tournament. If either of these teams win the second season, they're guaranteed the thirty spot in their respective Rumbles. I cannot see both Rumbles being won by the final entrant.

  1. I mean Meltzer said Becky vs Ronda is currently planned Wrestlemania main event. So, with that logic 30th entrant from women's side won't win the Rumble

From men's side AJ or Miz. I still have a felling that AJ is winning the Rumble to facevBrock. Only other guy i can see winning Men's Rumble is Drew McIntyre

  2. I mean i can see drew winning Rumble if Strowman beats Lesnar at Royal Rumble

How about AJ vs Orton at Wrestlemania for WWE title. AJ winning Rumble and Orton winning title at Elimination Chamber

Who are your top 2 picks to win Men's Rumble ?

    1. I said the other day that I'm waiting until I see what happens with Strowman on Sunday. This hasn't changed.
