This is following the news, from last night's Raw, that the former Universal Champion's leukaemia has been put into remission.
When I checked in ahead of the show, Sky Bet had him at 1/3 to make an appearance at the April 7th event.
Another appearance market has been adjusted following yesterday's show.
At the conclusion of the episode, Batista made his return by attacking Ric Flair just as the latter was about to celebrate his seventieth birthday with the current roster and a cast of legends who were awaiting him in the ring.
The backstage angle ended with Batista calling out Triple H. This strongly hints that Batista and Triple H will face each other at Mania.
As for the appearance market - when I checked in yesterday, the bookies had Batista at 4/6. He is now as short as 1/12.
On October 22nd, I placed a wager on 'Batista to defeat Triple H in a scheduled match' at WrestleMania. Even though I had doubts on both the match happening and even on Batista winning, I thought the 6/1 was worth a punt.
Well.. after last night, I'm going to have to take the L on that one.

Unless Batista is staying after WM, which I doubt, I think HHH is winning aswell.
ReplyDeleteI guess this is to replace Takers match as he seems pretty much done with WWE now?
I doubt whether Batista's post-Mania status matters here.
DeleteWhen they did that spot at Smackdown 1000 with HHH pulling a face after Batista said that he hadn't lost to HHH, I thought - if another match were to happen - that Batista would be the babyface.
The dynamic was the only thing I was clinging on for a Batista win when I placed the bet.
Take the L? Don’t you mean get in the queue to collect?
ReplyDeleteIt needs the match to happen and for Batista to win and I highly doubt he's going to win now that he has been positioned as the heel.
DeleteGotta disagree, i like your bet!
DeleteI’d be backing Batista to win all day every day. HHH is there to put people over at WM now. (Yes I am still in denial about the Sting year)
In my mind Becky’s gonna win, Bryan is going to lose, Rollins is going to win ... they need some heels to win (and I honestly think the crowd will dig straight heel Batista anyway)
They've made a point of saying Batista hasn't lost to HHH, Batista has beaten Ric Flair. To me, it's all set up for HHH to get revenge.
DeleteHHH's role may be to put people over, but this is a different - pardon the pun - animal here. Like I said back in October, I can see Batista being okay with doing the job to Triple H after everything he has done for him.
I'm interested to see the build up but I'm also pretty confident that HHH is winning.
DeleteBatista has clearly been called in to make WM35 a bigger event after the likes of Taker probably not being there etc.
I wouldn't bet against Undertaker being there even with him doing other things outside of WWE in April and May.
DeleteFair point. Keen to see the H2H odds
ReplyDeleteYour comment gave me the idea to do this:
DeleteA Look at the Batista/HHH Feud Market
Looks like you might get a nice chance to lay off when the market reopens.
ReplyDeleteI could even see Batista going over at WM and then coming back to lose to Roman at Summerslam (depending on when Dune starts filming)
I think the Kambi oddsmaker will be on the same wavelength as me and have HHH fave now, but we'll see.
