Sky Bet Publishes Miz/Shane Steel Cage Market And More

Sky Bet has published a betting market for the newest match to be added to the WWE Money in the Bank 2019 card.

On last night's episode of Raw, The Miz challenged Shane McMahon to a steel cage match. This request was granted by McMahon.

The bout will be a rematch from their falls count anywhere match - which was won by Shane - at WrestleMania 35. With Shane winning the first meeting, it's unsurprising to see Miz favoured to get the W in this one. He's 1/2 while his opponent is 6/4.

Last night's TV also saw the Raw participants for both Money in the Bank ladder matches confirmed. Both markets have been republished. The confirmed participants, along with their current and previous odds, can be viewed below:

Men's Ladder Match
Drew McIntyre 9/4 (down from 5/2)
Ricochet 13/2 (down from 25/1)
Braun Strowman 7/1 (down from 26/1)
Baron Corbin 8/1 (down from 16/1)

Women's Ladder Match
Naomi 6/1 (down from 16/1)
Alexa Bliss 7/1 (down from 11/1)
Natalya 8/1 (down from 20/1)
Dana Brooke 14/1 (down from 33/1)

The main event segment of last night's show was a contract signing for the Universal Championship match. It ended with AJ Styles doing the Phenomenal Forearm on the champ - Seth Rollins - through the table. Following the closing scene, the odds for Rollins to retain were moved to 1/5. They were 2/9 previously.

Date/Time
Seth Rollins
AJ Styles
24/4 10:15AM
1/4
11/4
26/4 4:00PM

10/3

As you can see, Styles has now been moved to 10/3.

There are a few things that stood out to me on last night's show. I could be overlooking into it, but it has caused me to bet on Styles to get the win on May 19th.

First, Gallows and Anderson moving to Raw was interesting. The team has reportedly turned down new contracts and will leave at the end of the year. However, as soon as I saw them on the red brand, I began to wonder whether they'll end up having them tied to Styles as a trio of heels with them helping Styles win the title on May 19th.

That was the most out there idea I thought of in regards to how the title match would conclude. The other is an expansion of something Abraham Jones said in the comments section of THIS POST last week.

Abraham pondered the idea of Brock Lesnar interfering in the match at Money in the Bank considering there's a possibility that the former Universal Champion could likely work the event that is reportedly set to take place from Saudi Arabia on June 7th.

Lesnar's name was brought up in the back-and-forth between Rollins and Styles last night. It made me wonder whether Abraham is onto something. I could see Lesnar interrupting the match to cause a no contest in a similar fashion to how Roman Reigns .vs. Braun Strowman concluded at last year's Hell in a Cell. If you recall, this was meant to set up a Reigns .vs. Strowman .vs. Lesnar triple threat match at Crown Jewel. Lesnar showing up at Money in the Bank to cause the no contest would void my bet on Styles, but would - most importantly - set up a triple threat match with Rollins, Styles and Lesnar going at it in Saudi Arabia.

And if neither of these things happen, I am still comfortable believing that Styles has a chance to get a win of some sort just so he'll have that hanging over Rollins for further on down the road in case this match is a one and done.

All prices were correct as of 11AM BST today.

  1. Like you said, I also think AJ Styles will turn heel especially after watching last night's Raw . They kinda portrayed him as a heel in that segment

I can definitely see Club reuniting. Also Raw badly needs a top main event level heel. McIntyre is the only main event level heel that Raw has but he's kinda boring and he gets no reactions from the crowd

I also think AJ might be the next Universal champion but not sure whether he wins at MITB.

I am pretty sure this match won't have a clean finish. I still expect Brock to wrestle in Saudi Arabia.

Also David, Do you think AJ vs Rollins feud will be a continuous 3 - 4 month feud and stretch it to Summerslam especially if AJ turns heel.

    1. I don't know. Depends on a lot of things like if he's turning heel (this could just be him working heel for this match), Lesnar returning etc.

If he's turning heel then yes, I can see it being a program. Not sure if it has legs to last all the way to SummerSlam, though.

    2. So, Are you betting on AJ to be next Universal champion?

I mean it's a continuous 3 PPV match feud, then AJ has to win at some point. It will be stupid to have him lose every match. can't do same mistake like they did with Nakamura and Joe while AJ was WWE champion

    3. I bet on AJ to be the next Universal Champion on the day the market was first published and before he was drafted to Raw.

I placed the bet thinking they would be in a match at SummerSlam and not before then, so I am not at all confident in it right now until I know whether it's the start of a program or not.

    4. Are you not confident in AJ becoming next Universal champion or are you not confident about match happening at Summerslam?

    5. Both.

I'm not confident that AJ will be the next Universal Champion because I am not confident in this being a program.

And for the second part of the question - I am not confident that it'll be Rollins .vs. Styles at SummerSlam whether it is a one-and-done or a program.

    6. Look at the schedule.

There's MITB in May, the one they announced yesterday for June, Extreme Rules in July and this isn't factoring in the possible Saudi show at the start of June.

If this is a program, I find it hard for them to drag it out until August.

  2. So, I think we are on the same side here

    1) We believe that AJ won't be Universal champion if it's a one and done

    2) We believe AJ will be next Universal champion if this is a 3 PPV match program

    1. Yeah, I guess that's right. The important factor is whether it's a program or not.

Either way, I believe Styles should somehow win the match at MITB OR have it a no contest just so they can have something for future whether it be immediate or later on.

    2. I am betting on no contest at MITB. Or Rollins wins but not cleanly

  3. With Lesnar retired from MMA , I now completely expect him to interfere in Styles vs Rollins match and set up a triple threat match in Saudi Arabia.

Then his next match will be at Summerslam. Either faces AJ or Drew.

But I think universal title match at Summerslam will be Seth vs Drew

    1. WWE has confirmed the event and stated that Lesnar will be on the card.

      Goldberg will also be there.

  4. Goldberg is crazy.

I don't know who will he face. But I think it will definitely be a squash match

Who do you think will be Goldberg's opponent? Elias

    1. Not sure, but I doubt it'll be Elias as I think they'll have Goldberg appear on Raw in the build.
